Time has shattered! Now it’s up to you to put it back together the way it was. Or at least close enough to how it was to fool your opponents! Bluff your way through history! Object To rebuild the fabric of time, players try to arrange historical events, personalities, inventions and discoveries in chronological order on the circular ChronoSphere. Win one of two ways: Be the first player with no cards remaining in your hand, or complete an accurate ChronoSphere to achieve victory! Setup Fig 1 — Card Faces Shuffle and deal 7 cards to each payer, dateside down. Players should not look at or pick up their cards. Place the remaining deck of cards near the play area. Randomly determine the starting player and deal him, and Date Side Up Face Up the next player going clockwise, an 8th card. You are now ready to begin play. Fig 2— ChronoSphere How to Play Layout Players play cards from their display onto the table in the shape of the ChonoSphere, a circular pattern with 12 card slots, 6 each for cards from BC and AD respectively, see Figure 2. On your turn, choose one of three actions: Play a card, discard 1 card and draw 2 cards, or challenge. Playing a Card Choose a card from your display and place it in a vacant slot on one side of the ChronoSphere. If your card is the first card on the BC side, play it in the 1st slot. No card may be played before it. If it is first on the AD side, play it in the 12th slot. No card may be played after it. You may play a card between any two other cards already played, except between the 12 and 1 slots, as long as there is room on that side of the Sphere. Just slide your card between the two existing cards. Play then passes to your left. Important: There can never be more than 6 cards on one side of the Sphere, and cards can't be moved from one side of the Sphere to another once they've been played. Once one side of the Sphere has 6 cards, no additional cards may be played to that side until it is cleared by a challenge (see below).

-1-

Discard You may discard any card from your display to draw 2 new cards from the deck. Challenge To challenge, choose one side of the ChronoSphere to inspect, and identify the last player to play a card on that side. You arel challenging that player. Flip over each card to determine that it is of the correct era, either BC or AD, and that the cards are in chronological order from earliest to latest, going clockwise. Adjacent cards with the exact same date are valid. If all cards are valid, you lose. If any card is invalid, the last player to play a card on that side of the Sphere is the loser, even if his last play was valid. Discard all cards on that side of the Sphere. Losing the Challenge The loser immediately draws cards from the deck based on how many cards were in that side of the Sphere: 2 cards if there were 1-4 cards in the Sphere, 3 cards if there were 5 cards, and 4 cards if there were 6 cards in the Sphere. Winning the Challenge The winner of the challenge chooses one of the following options: play a card from his display into the now-empty side of the ChronoSphere, or give a card from his display to the loser of the challenge. After the Challenge Play proceeds as normal, to the left of the challenger. Playing Your Final Card You must play your final card into the ChronoSphere date-side up, and immediately reveals the other cards in that half of the Sphere. If that half of the Sphere is all valid, the game is over and you wins. If it is not, discard the revealed cards, draw four new cards into your hand, and play passes to the left. Completing the ChronoSphere After placing the 12th and final card into the ChronoSphere, the player may rearrange any and all cards in the Sphere. This is the only time when a player may rearrange the cards in the 12 and 1 slots, and may move cards from one side of the ChronoSphere to the other. Once he is happy with the arrangement of the cards, reveal each card in turn. If the Sphere is valid, the player wins automatically, regardless of how many cards remain in his display. If it is not valid, discard the entire Sphere, and the player draws an additional 7 cards. Play continues to the left. If the Deck Runs Out The player with the fewest cards left is immediately declared the victor. Tied players grumble at their shared victory. Tips and Tricks  Remember, ChronoSphere is a bluffing game, not just a historical trivia game. Making an incorrect play on purpose is an important strategy!  Your earliest and latest cards are hard to play. Winning challenges is the best way to get rid of them.  Sometimes, a player gets to play two cards in a row: when she wins a challenge made by the player just before her in turn order. The player first takes the winner's bonus, then takes a normal turn.
