Clarity on Citrix Currently, Clarity could be access from users’ computer via Internet Explorer (IE). This induced some issues including, connectivity, ActiveX improper installed and the most serious one is the current IE setting could not accommodate HTTPS (Secure connection) of Clarity server. The launch of Clarity HR module raises the concern on data security over the network. Thus, Secure Connection is much desired. In order to implement Secure Connection on Clarity, the Clarity server would install secure certificate and enable HTTPS. By doing this, all data transfer over the network could be encrypted. This increases the security level of Clarity. However, users’ IE may need to be tuned in order to accommodate this Secure Connection. And this may induce problems when users visit other HTTPS websites over internet, including B2B site and other E-Banking sites. To address this, Clarity on Citrix is implemented. Users can use Clarity by logging into Citrix server. This would be the only entrance for Clarity from now on. Users’ IE could not access Clarity anymore.
Procedures 1. Assuming all users’ machines have Citrix client installed. 2. Visit https://hkcitrix.hermes-ottoint.com 3. Login with your Windows users’ login name and password. E.g. man.chan. And put in your domain of your account. E.g. ntoihk for Hong Kong, ntoidg for Dongguan.
You can find your domain from your machine’s Control Panel.

Please find the below icon from your system tray at the right bottom corner.
Double click on this icon would pop up a window.
Select HKDCCITRIX03. Click the button* “File Security”. You will see another pop up.
It would be the same setting as you chose in point 7. So make sure your settings: In “Access level”, choose “Full Access”. In “Do you want to be asked again?”, choose “Never ask me again” * Some users may experience not the same screen. But, the setting should be similar. Try to find “File Security/File Access”, if it is a drop down selection box, please select “Full Access”. If there is an item “USB Device”, please also select “Full Access”. This is to make sure Citrix client could read and write into a USB thumb drive when you save files, if you have plugged in your USB thumb drive. 11. Now you can do your normal activities in Clarity. You can print templates or reports to your local printer. You can open the template or report in Excel by clicking “Open in Excel”. Here, you should aware, the Excel that opens the template or report is NOT on your local machine. That Excel is on the Citrix server. Still, You can save the file to your local machine by “Save as”.
Perform the following steps when saving file to your local machine after clicking “Save As”: a. Click “My Computer” from the left side panel b. Recognize the drives which are on your local machine: “C$ on ‘Client’ (V:)” here means your local machine’s C: drive. If you have USB drive plugged, e.g. G: drive in your local machine. You will see “G$ on ‘Client’ (S:)”. The key is “$ on ‘Client’”. It means “drive on your machine”. * Usually, C$ should be the best choice if you have more than one drive in your machine. c. Then double click on C$ and select a location to save your files. You will be able to re-open it in your machine by visiting your file’s location. For those who want to make use of the function “Import from Excel” in Clarity, you can use the above mentioned method to save your template to local machine’s folder. After editing and saving this template file locally, import your file by locating the file from your local machine (that is “C$ on ‘Client’” if you saved in it). 12. After you finished your work in Clarity, close the Clarity window and then log off the Citrix client from your browser.
That is all for the new procedures to access and use Clarity with Secure Connection.
