College Course Registration

for SVSU Classes

NOTE: there are 2 ways to look up courses. Read through this entire document and choose the way that works for you. You will need to include the following in your request of college courses: 
 • GLBEC Program Completion Guide (located at sisd.cc/glbec forms)

• Skyward and look up Grad Reqs

• GLBEC teacher recommendation of number and type of courses. You will be notified on October 19th

• Google Course Request Form link. You will be notified on October 19th

• GLBEC Master schedule of courses taught in Winter 2016 to which you may be assigned. You will be notified on October 19th • SVSU or Delta General Education Requirements links

The 1st Way to select College Courses: 1. svsu.edu quick links course lookup

2. Course Look up. *SELECT CORRECT TERM!!! and select the Department.

3. Repeat step 2 until you have selected the number and type of courses recommended to you by GLBEC teachers. It is advised that you cut and paste the course call number, for example ENGL111*08, the course title: English Composition, and the day and time it meets into a word document so that no mistake is made when entering the required information into the google Course Request form.

4. Use the Tentative Schedule Form located at sisd.cc/glbec lower left under forms to map out your choices. BE CAREFUL not to select courses which overlap in start and/or end meeting times.



This form will need to be signed by you, your parent and GLBEC mentor and then returned to Mrs. Flanagin by October 26th so that we may send the request to SVSU for registration.

NOTE: all schedule requests are tentative and only final after you earn and maintain Proficient in College Credentialing, pass all GLBEC and future college courses with a C or better and meet deadlines.

5. Remember to copy and paste into the required fields in Google Course Request form. You will need to cut and paste (the following are examples): Course and section: ENGL111* 01 Course Title: English Composition Meet Times and Location on Campus: MW 1:00-2:30pm, SE126

6. Submit the Google form following this link: ……………………………… You will receive this link no earlier than October 19th.

The 2nd Way to select College Courses: Cardinal Direct 1. Log into SVSU’s home page and click on Cardinal Direct in the Quicklinks:

2. Enter Cardinal Direct and at the 2nd tab “Click here to access Schedule Planner”:

3. Log in to Schedule Planner:

4. Select the TERM:

5. Change the campus option to SVSU main campus only:

6. ADD Courses based on GLBEC teacher recommendations and program completion requirements:

7. When the recommended type and number of courses are added click BACK and GENERATE SCHEDULES:

8. All of the possible schedules will be listed and by clicking on the right you may stroll through options. You may lock the courses times and meet days you wish to keep. NOTE: GLBEC will NOT approve a once a week evening course in your 1st semester.

This course selection method is superb in that you will never accidentally select different courses which meet on the same day and time or overlap in end and start times on the same days. It is highly recommended that students new to selecting courses follow this format. 9. Return to the Nearly There section above #’s 4, 5, 6 to map out your course requests into the Tentative Schedule form and return with signatures to Mrs. Flanagin by October 26th.
