Adaptionable Funnel questions to the correct person Needs to be user friendly Knowing the website is there and where to find it Security / privacy Language Needs to be accessible to everyone Needs to be different to recourses already available Why would people go to the website Different people would go looking for different reasons Knowing when it has been updated – email updates? Ability to communicate as a group Computer access / internet provider needed Need different communication methods Administration – who will do this? People will be confused about relationship between this website and other organizations’ websites Q&A must be correct, validated and appropriate information Think about: o font size o navigation o text to speech and voice recognition accessibility o Available in different languages o Useable on different platforms e.g. PC / laptop / tablet / phone. o Language – include a jargon buster Website publicity: o Name & URL o Search engine optimisation o Promote by word of mouth o Posters in doctors surgery / wards /waiting rooms o Health watch o Patient participation groups o Hospital radio o Social media (e.g. Yammer) o Links on other websites o CCGs o PPG o Mindwell o Stray into soap (?) Need to be clear on confidentiality and permissions Have a password protected area / invited access / secure discussion groups

Ability to send private messages and have individual responses Ability to upload documents / resources – security?? Be clear on remit of website – e.g. people may want to use it to recruit people to studies – is that appropriate? Metrics – how many have accessed since opened? Offer options to people and ask them to indicate most appropriate method of how to receive information/updates Access to different demographic Good to have a simple web presence but keep very basic with an opportunity to join the mailing list – clear signposting rather than capture everything in this site which would be impossible Website just serves as a newsletter – don’t aim for anything more interactive if not supported with much admin ‘Volition’ is a website for mental health engagement – all 3rd sector orgs can advertise their opportunities on there – good example Other examples – ‘Mindwell’ Youtube channel Podcasts WhatsApp groups Facebook pages Twitter Wikispaces Dissemination through paper Text updates (not everyone uses a computer!) Regular emails to a mailing list of a summary of opportunities ‘Black health Leeds’ Radio channel – 3rd sector org trying to reach out to communities
