RE:
Computer Resource
As we begin our district wide implementation of Class Size Reduction, we have the opportunity to refine and provide the best technology instruction for all elementary students. This memorandum shall serve as guidance regarding the use of the Computer Resource position. The purpose of this position was to keep all computer labs open and functional and to provide direction to computer technology. • The time does not serve as teacher prep time. • This position can be used for 100% dedicated to computer resource or a minimum of 50% computer and 50% in another content area such as science, physical education, art, etc. • A variety of responsibilities for the resource teacher may include but not be limited to, providing professional learning in technology to teachers, assisting and supporting the school site website, or offering technology assistance to the site Accelerated Program just to name a few. • Discussion should be held at your site to outline the needs for your school's position. Additionally, a committee (through our Technology Services) is reviewing our district Technology Standards. Their goal will be to determine the elementary technology guidelines for implementation and suggested ideas. Thank you for your continued support and work.

RE:
CSR Grades 4 - 6

by efficiently using resources to maximize opportunities
for teachers to complete professional responsibilities.
To assist with this goal the following practices or changes will be instituted: 1. The resource teacher (Le. computer, other content areas) will be used to provide non-instructional contact time at school sites. (The teacher of the assigned classroom does not need to be present during the resource teacher's instruction.) 2. Grades 4-6, $1,500 per Classroom Allotment: a. Buy certificated content area teachers. b. Buy sub days at end of grading periods. c. 2 times per week - 45 minutes of clerical time. Note - Intermediate grade levels detennine how to spend monies. Other (Suggestions/Options): 1. Flexibility for Articulation Days 2. Double-up 20 to 1 classes for Library, P.E., and Art to increase noninstructional time for classroom teachers. 3.
