1. Attached is DepEd Memorandum No. 0347 dated February 17, 2017 re: Conduct of Data Validation of Schools in selected Regions and Divisions, content of which is selfexplanatory. 2. In this regard, the Planning and Research Unit, this Division, will conduct data validation in selected schools. The validating team is composed of the following: Mr. Redjandi L. Sursigis Mr. Rouie F. Conanan Two Personnel from Central Office 3. All supporting documents like school profile, enrolment data, learner age profile, number of teaching and non-teaching personnel and other pertinent data shall be made available on the date of validation . 4. Conduct of Data Validation of Schools in selected Regions and Divisions

The Department recognizes the vital role of data collection and reporting in the operations of the institution. particularly in addressing the needs of our schoots and learners. The accuracy and quafity of our data is critical as this data is the basis.for the allocation of crucial resources, policy development, and decision-making of education managers. The Department issued DepEd Order 52, s. 2016 "Data Collection of Basic Education Statistics in the Leamer Information System and Enhanced Basic Education Information System for Beginning of School Year 2016-2017" to provide guidance In the data collection and submission of all schools nationwide. Based on the initial analysis of the Planning Service, through the Education Management Information System Division (EMISD}, there is a need to resolve inconsistencies and issues, such as age profile, school profile, zero enrolment, zero teachers and the like, in the data submitted by the schools. To address this, the Planning Service, with the help of selected field personnel came up with a validation tool (qualitative and quantitative) to gather information on the policy gap and .implementation issues encountered by schools in submitting basic education data. In this regard, the Planning Service shall conduct data validation in schools in selected regions and divisions from March 'l:0-31, 2017. The objectives of this undertaking are the following: 1. address gaps and challenges in the data collection and reporting; 2. formulate recommendations based on the findings; 3. identify schools/divisions that need support and technical assistance; and

4 . share best practices of schools in terms of reporting.

The Policy, Planning & Research Division (PPRD) and School Governance & Operations Division (SGOD) of the Region and Division respectively, will assist and help the Central Office (CO) personnel in validating data in the schools . Attached is the list of schools for the Schools Division Office to prepare. the itinerary and administrative arrangements for the actual conduct of data validation in selected schools. The itinerary shall be submitted at [email protected] on or before March 17,
