of the world and uncovers the unspoken truth as to how easy it is to turn the Gods of an old religion into the fallen angels of a new. This is a "must hear" presentation.

traditions and faiths, will return to our church to share the wisdom and knowledge she has been taught from the indigenous and tribal people, and give guidance and instruction in how to use this information for personal intentions now!

3:30pm - 3:55pm: "An Introduction to Yoga" by Joan Price

“The Hopi elders have told us that as long as enough one-hearted people come together, we can maintain peace on within our hearts and within mother earth”.

A summary of what the ancient art of Yoga is. Joan Price will explain a brief history of this incredible style of pursuing well being is about. She will explore the wondrous health, spiritual and psychological benefits of this exhilarating method of self enlightenment.

Now is the time – to learn how to apply the principals of “the secret”, and “course on miracles”. Let’s do it together and see what happens.

4:30pm - 4:55pm: "Ascension" by Lois Shurig. What exactly is Ascension? Can anyone achieve it? If so how? These and many more questions about Ascension will be explored in this amazing presentation. You will gain knowledge on how to recognize the "symptoms" of the ascended ones as well as the types of beneficial changes it can create for you in your life. 5:30pm - 5:55pm: "The Power of Gemstones" by Rev. Bonnie Neighorn A presentation based on the mystical and magical power of gems, minerals and stones. Rev. Bonnie will explain how such Earth-borne chemical compositions carry with them individual energies that can be channeled into all types of purposes in waking reality. Some tends toward healing, others toward prosperity as well as a myriad of other purposes depending upon the stone itself. From Day's End (6:00PM) - ???: "Open Drum Circle" Do you drum? Do you dance? Do you simply like to just have a great time? Then join us. Bring your drums, rattles, shakers, tambourines and any type of percussion instruments you play and we will finish this day off with a fabulous time of drumming, dancing and making merriment. Weather permitting we will circle round our fire pit at the back of the church and have a grand ole time.

September 6, 2008 - doors open 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. start time How to create the harmonics of an awakened, empowered being now! Ceremonialist, Virginia Lonesky, who has traveled around the world assisting in the reawakening of human beings within various

We will create a talking circle, and exchange information, then Virginia will present. We will have Q & A session, then she will guide us in creating our own ceremony through the use of sacred shapes, and symbols and group toning to create a weaving of “beings” that will connect with our cosmic star memory, similar to what took place at the harmonic convergence in 1988. She will take the group through guided visualizations on creating positive healing vortexes. Share how other communities are using these ancient symbols in the 21st century, and explain how and why they work. She will apply the principle of the “Peruvian sacred fire” to transmute past and give a clear path to your future. No experience necessary - come join us for a ‘once in a lifetime’ moment to join with like minded people to learn how to focus and direct your intentions for your, and the world’s highest good. If you read this and just know it is time for you to grow into being a positive example for peaceful solutions, then come join us. In-tuition - $15.00 per person (there is never any charge for ceremony) but we give an honoring to the teacher to support her work – and she gives a tithe to the church in gratitude. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for inside and outside activities – (consider the weather on that day). Bring a dish to pass – finger foods/appetizers shared at the end of the evening. Bring fire wood if you have it for a community celebration fire at the end of the evening Bring drums, rattles, music makers for the fire ceremonies Contact: Virginia Lonesky, for event information @ Peaceful Endeavors - 586 739 7293 or email: [email protected] ----let the process begin in joy and light---Namaste

Feeling Threatened Afraid Of The Truth Most of us have had the experience of being in possession of a piece of truth that we were afraid to share because we knew it would not be well received. There are also instances in which we ourselves have been unable to handle some truth confronting us. This might be a small truth, such as not wanting to see that our car needs repairs because we don’t want to pay for them, or a large truth, such as not fully accepting that someone close to us is pushing us away. Usually the truth is evident, and we can see it if we choose, but we have elaborate ways of hiding the truth form ourselves, no matter how apparent it is. For the most part, we avoid the truth because it scares us, or makes us angry, or makes us feel like we don’t know what to do. We often create our lives based on a particular understanding, and if that understanding turns out to be fully or even partially incorrect, we may feel that our whole sense of reality is being threatened. It takes a strong person to face the truth in circumstances like these, and many of us run for cover instead. Nevertheless, we can only avoid the truth for so long before it begins to make itself known in ever more forceful ways. Ultimately, there is no way to avoid the truth, no matter how painful it is, so the sooner we let down our defenses, the better. When we know the truth and accept that we may have to adjust our lives to accommodate, we are in alignment with reality. At the same time, we can be patient with people around us who have a hard time seeing the truth, because we know how painful it can be. Whatever the truth is, we make a sincere effort not to close our eyes to it, but instead to be grateful that we have access to it. From the Daily OM

Open Yourself Up to *Receive* More Blessings... One of God's greatest pleasures is sharing His blessings with you. Through the power of God's grace, we are blessed in every moment of our lives. Due to our belief in struggle, and that life is hard, we can unknowingly block blessings. Remember, your thoughts are energy that grows and becomes bigger and bigger in your life. We are good at focusing on what we don't want, thereby causing energy to flow to what we don't want,

making it grow. For this week, add this belief to your thought process: "I am open to and receiving the blessings God has for me. I am letting them in right now." Say it again: "I am open to and receiving the blessings God has for me. I am letting them in right now." Take a moment now and be silent. Close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths and imagine a shaft of light flowing down around you. Imagine that light is full of the energy that will allow the blessings you need to manifest in your life. You are a *creator*. Through your agency, God has given you the power to be a creator in your life. With God's assistance, you can be a creator of great and wonderful things. METAPHYSICAL EXPO 3 Saturday, August 16, 2008 11am-6pm 11:30am - 11: 55am: "The Art of Belly-dance" by Brenda Bennett A demonstration and speech on a very beautiful and sadly misunderstood art form and means of spiritual expression. Belly-dancing is NOT synonymous with being a "stripper" nor is it in anyway sacrilegious as Brenda Bennett will explain and show in this awesome presentation 1:00pm - 1:25pm: "The Art and Science of Divination" by Rev. Christopher Paris An introduction to the "mechanics" on how Psychic Readings are done. Rev. Christopher Paris will explore the basic psychic abilities that we all actually possess and help give information on how you can be guided in the direction of developing your own personal gifts. OUR HEADLINER: 2:15pm - 3:15pm: "Greenman, The Non-Patriarchal Male Deity" by Jason Mankey An absolutely fascinating orator who is sure to capture your undivided attention. Mr. Jason Mankey will explain a history of religion that was not taught to you in church nor social studies. Jason explores the archives of information left behind by many ancient cultures

The Better My Story Gets the Better My Life Gets. . . Begin telling the story of your desire, and then add to it the details of the positive aspects that you can find that match those desires. And then embellish your positive expectation by speculating with your goodfeeling Wouldn't it be nice if . . . ? examples. You can say things like: Only good things

Our Psychic Fairs 3rd Annual Metaphysical Expo August 16, 2008 In the Spotlight What a busy time this is. While some classes have been put on hold during the summer months there still is a lot going on. Some of it is below the surface or seems below the surface to many readers of this newsletter. To those active in the various committees, meetings continue and the base work for many changes are being laid. The ministers are starting work on an ethics statement. The constitution committee is advising the board of recommended changes to make sure there are no discrepancies and to fit with where the church is heading. The minister training classes are both provocative and instructional. They do the job of organizing one’s beliefs, offering alternative ideas and stating the position of an interfaith church. Committees for the Psychic Expo, digital media, activities, newsletter, maintenance, education (hope I haven’t left any unmentioned) continue to keep the church running with direction and purpose.

NATURAL HIGHS When you’re feeling down and want to uplift your emotional state, try one of these. We’ll include five each month in the newsletter. 1. Getting Mail. 2. Taking a ride on a pretty road. 3. Hearing your favorite song on the radio. 4. Lying in bed listening to the rain outside. 5. A bubble bath.

All of this was brought to mind during the last Church Social Night and Adult Sleepover. After the evening events were over and people had either left or retired for the night my daughter, Amber and I stayed up a little longer enjoying the mesmerizing effects of the fire. When we called it a night, the coals were spread out to die out. During the night it rained quite hard. Some of us got wet because we had left the tent flap open for the evening breeze. I expected that the fire had either burned out or been drowned out. Instead the largest partially burned piece still had hot coals underneath its rain soaked top. It only took a short while for the new wet wood to dry out and start burning. In looking at the calendar and thinking that perhaps there is not much going on besides the Expo or the Family Day Social this month. Look again! Maybe you aren’t attracted to some of the offerings or don’t have weekends free to enjoy some of the other’s but be assured that like that log there are hot coals and a lot of work going on. By Rev. Joyce

Patriarchal Male Deity at 2:15 pm. At 3:30pm, Joan Price will demonstrate An Introduction to Yoga. Lois Shurig will give a presentation on Ascension at 4:30pm and the final presentation is at 5:30pm with Rev. Bonnie Neighorn and The Power of Gem Stones. Remember, all presentations are free to the public. Concerns about people losing their place in line for readings because they choose to attend one of the presentations were addressed. They will not lose their place; they will be called from the presentation shortly before their reading is to start. Refreshments as usual and vendors inside and out are lined up. We plan to have 8-11 readers that day with the Aura machine. Education…Rev. Cathy Jones wants everyone to know that anyone can put on a get together, a class, a book club, an exercise class, a mom’s group, a scrapbook night, and painting class at the church. Just fill out a form and give to Cathy. She will put you in contact with the activities chair.

From the President’s Desk Well, we’ve only 5 months left of 2008. I would like to update you on the new ideas and changes that came up at the last board meeting: Activities…The rummage sale on July 19 went fairly well, even with the downpour of rain. We brought in $170 and were able to take the left over stuff to the Salvation Army. Thank you to all who came to set up and price items, and to the ones who helped the day of the sale. As this letter goes to print, we will have had our 2nd Annual Family Picnic. Last year’s party went well and I am hoping that this one will also. We continue to have Healing on the first Friday of the month at 7pm and Meditation on the third Friday at 7pm. On Friday the 22 we have our monthly family night with bonfire and drumming. An added bonus will be Glass Walking with Rev. Bonnie Neighorn (see insert). On Saturday, August 9th from 1-4pm is the class on Christianity, which is open to the public for $10. The Psychic Fair Expo is on August 16th from 11-6pm. On August 23, Saturday from 10am to 5pm is an Advanced Hypnotherapy class offered by Rev. Bonnie Neighorn. Altered Art is a class (see insert) being offered by Dawn Angle on Sunday 24th at 1 pm. ***Upcoming events for October are the Pumpkin Fest parade in Davison Friday, October 10th, all children (and adults☺) are welcome to ride on our float. We are also having another Halloween Party for Kids on Saturday, October 25 from 3-5pm.*** Psychic Fair…All plans are finished for the 3rd Annual Metaphysical Expo on August 16th. Our headliner for the day is Jason Mankey who will give a presentation on Greenman, The Non-

Review and accepting new version will be completed by October so that the congregation has 3 months to review the changes to be voted on in January 2009. Web site and Digital…We accepted Amber Stoneburg to be the administrator assistant to the Digital Committee. The Website is being updated with all the new information and classes that are coming up. Remember, if you want something put into our website, just contact Rev. Joyce Boehmer. Our next Board Meeting is August 10th at 4:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to set in on our meetings.

Dog Days of Summer From the Pastor’s Corner

2008 Patience Often when we feel we are losing control of a situation, or when there are hidden fears we have surrounding it, we become impatient, nervous, or suffer the effects of stress. We find ourselves railing against the natural flow of life. Sometimes in the midst of apparent upheaval, it's difficult to realize that everything is going to work out for the highest good without added struggle. Patience is a blend of faith, hope, and release. It is a practice, not always something that comes naturally. It comes from being able to find a place of peace, deep inside yourself, where hope resides. In this place you touch that inner knowing where you are unaffected by external situations. Impatience is a fear based behavior pattern and drains a lot of energy that could be put into constructive action. Remember to be kind to yourself, and honor the personal power that you have to deal with your life's circumstances from a place of calm, rather than a place of chaos. From Spiritual Guidance Tarot.com

Can you imagine what it means to have no cares, no worries, no anxieties and to stop procrastination. To be perfectly calm and quiet all of the time? Well if it is peace that you want then you must abandon your ego, for this is the way of confusion. If you see most things as attacks upon yourself, things not going your way, no one understanding you and you know you are just as good as so and so. I say to you that with this manor of thinking you will create for yourself a state of illusion. The illusion isn’t the truth. Your ego has created fear. Now in this negative state of mind you have created, all things seem lost. I seems that you are no longer in control. But it isn’t lost, it’s just the way you think about it. So now get back on track! Go to the mirror; say to yourself positive things that are your truth. Rethink the situation! Are you sure? Or is your ego trying to excuse you and put the blame on someone or something else. Accept you as the wonderful person that you are. I something needs changing then change it! If you can’t change the something then accept it. If you are sorry about something then say it and move on. That is why our motto is Living is Learning to Love! Learning to love and accept you, your life and others. You my dear are a very important part of this world. You have a reason to be here! To either teach or learn or both. So get busy, go to the window and look out of it. The world is waiting for you and all the wonders that you hold in your being. This time on earth is yours, use it wisely!! L.L.L.
