Dominick Laudia, CEC, AAC, Receives National Dr. L.J. Minor Chef Professionalism Award at the 2016 American Culinary Federation National Convention St. Augustine, Fla., August 11, 2016—Dominick Laudia, CEC, AAC, executive chef at Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club, Boca Raton, Florida, was honored by the American Culinary Federation (ACF) with the national Dr. L.J. Minor Chef Professionalism Award. Laudia received the award during the Chef Professionalism Dinner at Cook. Craft. Create. Convention & Show held in Phoenix, July 15-19. “I owe thanks to many people who helped me get here; they all own a piece of this award,” said Laudia. “I challenge all chefs to get more involved with their chapters and communities. It takes very little to contribute something meaningful to our community and provide for someone who really needs it.” The Dr. L.J. Minor Chef Professionalism Award, sponsored by Minor’s®, honors culinarians who help elevate the status of chefs and cooks in the U.S. The award is presented to a chef who exemplifies the highest standard of professionalism through certification, continuing education and training, culinary competitions and community involvement. “Congratulations to all the regional winners,” said Matt Schimpf, division vice president, Chef2Chef Sales, Minor’s®. “We are proud of these award winners who are continuing the legacy of Dr. Minor in support of the chef profession. We feel Dominick Laudia is an outstanding chef and a great ambassador of culinary excellence.” Laudia’s prior experience includes executive chef at various clubs, including Boca Woods Country Club, Boca Raton; Boca Rio Golf Club, Boca Raton; and Fresh Meadow Country Club, Lake Success, New York. He was also executive chef/owner, Culinary Café, Delray Beach, Florida. In 2003, Laudia was awarded an ACF President’s Medallion. An avid competitor, he has received various medals in ACF-sanctioned competitions and has coached and mentored many junior competition teams. Additionally, Laudia serves as a member of the Community Academy Advisory Board at the Culinary Academy of West Boca Raton Community High School, Boca Raton. He is currently serving his third term as chapter president of ACF Palm Beach County Chefs Association; was named chapter Chef of the Year in 2001 and 2012; and received the chapter Chef Professionalism of the Year Award in 2014. More than 850 chefs, cooks, students and foodservice professionals attended Cook. Craft. Create. Convention & Show, hosted by the ACF Chef’s Association of Arizona, Inc. The event provided culinary skills through informative workshops and seminars, cutting-edge demonstrations, a trade show featuring nearly 100 exhibitors, a career fair, national competitions and ACF’s annual national awards. -MORE-
