Plymouth-Canton Community Literacy Council Conversation Group Leader Guidelines
1. Conversation group tutors should attend CLC training, or another equivalent literacy training program before starting to tutor (by approval of the Program Coordinator). 2. Conversation group locations should recruit their own tutors. If additional tutors are needed, notify the Program Coordinator who will coordinate and recruit tutors, if possible. 3. A liaison from the conversation group should attend monthly Board meetings as often as possible. 4. Provide Program Coordinator with: A list of tutors Schedule of conversation group meeting day(s) & time(s) Provide an annual report on total number of tutors, students, and hours volunteered by month. The Community Literacy Council relies on grants for funding. Records of the total number of volunteers, students, and hours worked are needed for grant applications. 5. Each tutor should record their volunteer hours on a monthly basis using the CLC website: www.plymouthcantonliteracy.org/resources/tutor-resources/volunteer-service-hours.
