HMCRO 24HR DESIGN EXPERIENCE MA DESIGN INTERACTIONS

Gender: Male or Female Age: 25-30 Goals: Break the system from within, recruit others, take part in activities that confuse the algorithms that monitor citizen behaviour, be unexpected, try to stay in the same place, become local, make long-term connections with people. Quotes: “People will accept ideas presented in technological form that would be abhorrent in any other form.” “sleep is the only remaining barrier, the only enduring ‘natural condition’ that capitalism cannot eliminate.” “Those who see only what new technologies can do and are incapable of imagining what they will undo; we might call such people Technophiles.” Actions: – spends time in unregulated, unorganised, unsupervised, unadminstered parts of the city. – scans houses and checked the data of the current occupants. compares and reflects. – Looks forward to the next rotation, the city will change, time to adapt. – Looks for the blank areas of the map, the unknown areas outside of the control of the HMCRO. Summary: The rebel wants to be in the city, for social reasons, to be amongst family friends and others. But that requires participation in the Citizeon Rotation service. He doesn’t believe that culture and community can be created or predicted by machines. Although he takes part in all aspects of daily life in the city, he doesn’t see this as participation, he is in conflict.
