D1 evaluate the impact of evolving output mediums on the design and creation of graphic images. Introduction: I am going to evaluate the impact of evolving output mediums on the design and creation of graphic images. The output includes mobile, monitors and printers. Mobile: The evaluation of mobile phones is one of the biggest in the world especially the image aspect. When mobile phones were first made you couldn’t take pictures with them until they started making mobile phones with cameras, the camera quality that came with those phones were originally poor bust since gotten a lot better than what it used to be. An example of an old phone with poor
camera quality is the Nokia N90, Which came out in 2005, the phone came with a 2.0 mega pixel camera, which was impressive back then but is considered extremely poor nowadays. An example of one of the the best camera phones in the world is the nokia lumnia 1020 which came out in 2013, the lumnia boast a ridiculous 41 megapixel
camera,
This shows the evolution of mobile phones creating graphic images. Another case is how you can now share the images that you take on your phone back in 2005 the easiest way you could share an image was by manually moving it from your phone to your computer via a usb. But nowadays you can share by so many ways e.g. social networks, email, Bluetooth and many more. This again shows the development of mobile phones over the last 10 years. Printers: Printers have equally evolved massively as well. In the early 90s you would only get high quality printing if you had the very best of printers, which were always extremely expensive. Whereas nowadays you don’t have to buy the most expensive printer as long as you buy a reasonably priced printer the quality of what you’ll be printing will be top quality. Also printers nowadays have built in features such as Wi-‐Fi print (users can print wirelessly as long and the printer and the device that their user is printing from are both connected to the same router), scan more that most computers now come with a scanner built in bust about 10 years ago you had to buy a printer and a scanner separately. This shows how printers have evolved.
Monitors: Monitors have equally developed a lot in the sense that when you compare the crt monitors which was the common monitor about 15 years ago
compared to lcd monitors now. Crt monitors have a lot of disadvantages compared to LCD monitors. Crt monitors are bigger, heavier, poor sharpness; average brightness and some crts have different screen shapes.
But monitors have evolved and gotten better. The lcd monitors come with a lot of features that interest people more such as better sharpness, slim, light, high definition, brightness and many more. Also the new lcd monitors can be used as TVs as well due to them having ports for an Hdmi cable which a lot of people
love.
