A New Year’s resolution you have made for yourself this year. To work harder and get better grades. Like A’s and B’s why because so I be more successful. And so I can get an awesome job so I don’t be homeless on the streets. And I also want to have a great life. What I like to do when I get in high school when I am a freshmen. I like to focus more than right now. And why because so I can do better than I done in middle school. And so I can be smarter than I am. Also so I can have a better life. It will also make life way easier for me. I am going to read at home more. Also stay after school more if I don’t have

work done. And it will make it easier for me all the time. And more I work it will make my parents proud. New Year, New Me By: Lindsy Larkowski That's a neck My best memories of 2016 are that I had a really good Christmas. I also went to the water park and had lots of fun. On the 26th my dog had puppies. Her name is Zoey she had 5 puppies. I found out later that Zoey is a Chinese crested. Then later I found out that Zoobie is a Shih Tzu. My worst memories of 2016 are that for Christmas my cousin came over, drove me crazy. Instead of spending it with her own family she spent it with me and my family. Yesterday my mom’s grandpa came over that I have not seen in a long time. His name is Gary Ogden and he got me coconut clusters that I am selling for a dollar if anybody wants any. Anyway my great grandpa does not know me a lot so I am not that mad at him. The biggest news story of 2016 was when Donald Trump won the election. Donald Trump will be our new president. Donald Trump will be inaugurated on January 20th, 2017. I hope that Donald Trump does well or changes things for our country. On January 10th, 2017 Barack Obama will give his final address to the country after that Donald Trump will be in control.

By: Clayton.G I have more than a couple of predictions for 2017, some are good, some are bad. One prediction is that somebody/someone is going to bomb us really hard because of Donald Trump being president. No hate towards Donald Trump but A LOT of people don’t like him because of some of his comments he made toward illegal immigrants. Another prediction I have for 2017 is a lot of the new movies that are coming out are not going to be as good as the previews say. I predict this because it happens almost every year, and I really won’t be surprised if it happens again this year. One of my last predictions is the U.S will try to actually do something about hacking. It's been a big issue for years and gets worse every year and it effecting the environment, and therefore hacking is making the world worse. Worst memories I have had in 2016….?.... Well one bad memory I have is getting told that my grandma was in the hospital in a serious condition. It was a bad memory because I was told about this 1-2 days after it happened, and it really sucked. Another bad memory I have is having the flu and strep throat at the same time. It was really bad, my whole entire head hurt, I am always having to blow my nose, and throw up. And on top of it I had strep throat. That is all of the bad memories I could remember.

One thing I would like to change this year is school, like breaks, homework, assignments, summer break, 1 hour less of school, and after school detentions. I really wanted all of this to change because I’m tired of having short breaks, a lot of homework, really boring school assignments, a short summer break, and after school detentions. And please also cut an hour off of school. So the boss people in my school if you could try making new laws for schools, and make our work worth working on. It would make not just my year but everyone's year better…….2017!!!!

so my goals is to spend less and save more for my quinceanera. My third resolution is to spend more time with my family. This doesn't have a lot to do with my quinceanera. I want to spend more time with my family because family is the most important thing. Time is always going by and the more time I spend in my room or phone it’s time I can be with my family enjoying the memories before they’re gone. This is also a resolution but it is to enjoy life to the fullest and not be sad. 2016 taught me that life is short. I was also very sad throughout 2016. COUNCIL BLUFFS- It’s 2017 time to set the resolutions that were meant for 2016. One of my resolutions that I am going to keep and try hard is to lose weight. I am 14 currently and by December I am turning 15. Hispanics have a tradition that on a girls 15 birthday she is no longer a child and is transitioning to a grown woman. My goal is to lose weight so I can look nice in my quinceanera dress. My second resolution is too spend less and save more. This is another big one for my quinceanera because a quinceanera is nothing cheap. You can get help from what is called ‘padrinos’ which in English is godparents. The more padrinos you have the less money the actual parents spend because you can have a padrio for almost everything like music, shoes, doll, etc. This is all the things that a quinceanera has and more

My new year's resolution of 2016 is to become more healthy, and organized. I think becoming more healthy will improve me both mentally and physically. I want to change my eating habits as well as get in better shape, since I play a lot of sports. And I also want to become more organized. Becoming more organized will help me in school, and well as at home. And will benefit me a lot.

Volume 3 Issue 13 The worst memory I had in 2016 would have to be when I injured my knee in volleyball. I was out for 4 weeks and I had to go to physical therapy twice a week. The tournament was in Kansas City and I had to sit out the final game, and we lost. I got a Migraine from the injury and had to drive 3 hours back home with it. It was definitely the worst memory for me of 2016, and was very miserable. The best memory of 2016 would have to be when I went to Disney World in October. I've been to Disney World a few times but this was a little more special because I got to meet my baby cousin who lives in Hawaii. It was really fun seeing my family and spending time with them in the most magical place on earth, plus getting out of school. I did not want that trip to end. It was by far my favorite memory of 2016.

I had not seen in 8 years. Also on this trip I got to go to the beach and see the ocean something that I had never done before. My life has been one thing and one thing only 2016. The endless nights I stay awake thinking of what if. What if this year never happened? Although our timelines would be very different if we didn’t have this horrid year. It just happens to be sad to look back though what we all missed in the past twelve months. timelines would be altered in a huge way. The best way to describe this year is 2001. It started off on a lovely note then towards the middle the world was going to end as we know it, and then towards the end the world had ended as we know it. Although these events we not carried off as it seemed to be in the years before. It is hard to think of this year without depressing thoughts. Although this year might seem bad with the huge events that happened, the small good things started to happen this year. There's all of the news for the great movie that came out and the great movies to come. We started a new kind of music that no one dislikes. We even made gay marriage legal for everyone in the United States. We still might see the stuff of nightmares when you think of 2016. But when you dig deeper you find all of the greatness that came out of this year. Even though this nightmare of a year is over it doesn’t mean that we should think about what happen in the past we should think about what is going to happen in the years to come. We should think about the groundbreaking work in our own grasped. In this next year we could find another step to put an end to influenza, or even find a way to make safer and cleaner energy for all to use. It may look like the end. But in the end there is always a time to start again and rebuild what we distorted. You never know you may hate this year more than 2016?

My best memory of 2016 was when I got to see my brothers and my dad after five years. Me and my dad decided for me and my brothers I we started doing visits. When we started the first visit, I was really nervous about seeing them but it wore off when we started playing around and I got to really like my brothers. Me and my fourteen year old brothers are awesome friends now when we used to fight over everything. For Christmas Eve I went to my dad’s house and we went over to my grandma’s house. Everyone from our family was there and we had an awesome time opening presents and seeing the reactions on the kids and adults faces. When we went home my dad, stepmom, and me went to go drop me off at my mom’s house. I have been going over to my dad’s every other Sunday and calling every Saturday. Sometimes I talk to my brothers but mostly it’s just me and my dad. For Christmas my brothers got a PS4 and they all got nerf guns so when I went over to their house the last time we had a nerf war and played Infinite Warfare Zombie in Spaceland. Then we went over to my step-mom’s mom’s house for dinner. After dinner all the kids had a giant pillow fight in one of the upstairs bedrooms.

Hello 2017 and Goodbye 2016 By: Ana Gonzalez- Avila One of the Best things that happened to me was in 2016 was me opening up to Attack on Titan. For me to watch that was a big deal and also for a few of my friends and we're proud of me. Also another thing that happens every year but for me was very peaceful, I got older am now 14 years old. Although I may have gotten older my height hasn’t improved at all, but I don’t feel as bad as I use to. Volume 3 Issue 13 first mistake I took when it came to Attack on Titan and look am already finished with it and did it in two days cause I couldn’t stop watching. But because I judged I made a promise with my brother that I would watch one of his favorite animes that I really didn't want, but I made the deal having the mentality that I wouldn’t like Attack on Titan. The worst part of 2016 was the many rumors of it coming up with. Like news reporters where saying it is the end of the world, I was freaking out. And it ended up being a normal year like always, calm and dangerous at some points. Haruhi is known as a “commoner” and so she can’t pay for it so she is forced to join the club, at first the boys of the host club did not know she was a girl because of how she looked. This year I was going to do basketball, but since I'm not doing to well in school I decided not to. I don't like it that much and to start my resolution of doing better in school, I decided I better just not do basketball, because I know that by the time I get home from practice I will just want to take a shower, eat, and sleep. The other bad part was we went to Washington state to visit my cousin and our tie rod on our van broke and we flipped 20 times and when the fire department got there they put the fire out

A quinceanera is for girl that is when a girl is going to turn into a woman ,and mine is going to be charred that’s where there is a horse in clued and it cost more than 100,000 dollars and we have to save up by 2019 and the dress cost about 1,000 dollars and I am the one that is paying for it I have to pay the dress. My best memory of 2016 is that I finished 7th and went to 8th grade because 1st of all 7th grade was drama and it was so ridiculous and I never I like it. I wanted to go to 8th because I thought there was going to be new people but there wasn’t. It is still the same people and the same drama and I really don’t like it. But the difference between 7th and 8th is that 7th grade teachers are not that strict and the 8th are so that’s a little strict. Last thing the kids in 8th are more rude than last year. The worst memory of 2016 is that my uncle died it my worst because he was my dad’s only brother and now I see my dad and he is not the same. My other worst memory is that I don’t get to see my cousin everyday because he moved away.

A great memory I have from last year was spending a lot of time with my friends. We had some great times together . Last summer was a lot of fun. A few times we went swimming at Pirate’s Cove. We’d have sleepovers at each others houses. We would watch movies, laugh, go to the park and shopping. Spending time with my friends will always be one of my best memories of 2016. In 2017 I’d like to stop doing chores, especially dishes! We don’t have a dishwasher so I have to wash them all by hand. It makes my hands dry and they hurt. One of my best memory in 2016 is when I went to Sioux City to see my grandma. I love spending time with her. We don’t get to see her very much, but we make sure we see her on Christmas Day. When I am at Grandma’s we make cookie and open presents. Christmas at Grandma’s is the best, my family and I have great time. In 2017 I want to stop drinking pop. I found out that it will hurt your body. It can give you kidney stones. Its also bad for your teeth. The acid in pop destroys the enamel on your teeth. One of my best memories for from 2016 was when we went to Disneyland for a family vacation. I went with my mom, dad & grandma. It was the first time I flew on a airplane. We stayed in a really nice hotel. I had a awesome time at Disneyland. I rode a ride that you could drive cars. I went on a roller coaster. We ate a lot of different

foods at the park. It was one of the best times of my life. In 2017 my goal is to go to bed earlier. When I go to bed I turn my TV on and lay in bed and watch it. I love watching Odd Squad and it’s hard to turn the TV off. I end up staying up late into the night. I am so tired at school that sometimes I fall asleep! Oh boy 2016 was such a bad year. Like the terroristic threats and terroristic acts. And don’t get me started with presidential controversy that was epitome of 2016 and the worst part of it all is that Donald trump ended up becoming the president elect and soon to become president sometime around this month. Well actually the trump becoming president elect part being a bad thing/the worst thing was very opinionated because some people were very happy. And I’m not hating people that do because they can think what they want just like I can.

Volume 3 Issue 13 Something else that happened was all the YouTube drama and “beef”. This made so many creators loose a lot of subs and views go down. This all started with keemstar when leafy made a video that he calls a rant video. This made keem get 50k plus dislikes a video and lose over 300,000k subs. It ended with the idubbbz on leafy exposed video that got idubbbz over 100,000 subs in just a week and got him 15 million views. I haven't seen them this past month though so that's good. I hope they don’t come back this year because they all got repetitive. And personally my least favorite part was music, well more specifically rap. The new xxl class were Lil uzi vert Lil yaty 21 one savage Kodak black and Denzel curry. They are all the worst line up of any xxl class since 2007 when it started excluding denzel curry. They are all so overrated it’s crazy. If you hear one of any of their songs they sound so dead and unhappy that's just the opposite of what the main elements of being a good mc are. They can still be classified as artist but not rap artist because what they do is completely something else. New years By. Jared Haxton

I want to get a job this year because it is good to have money to spend. Also it would be good for my

family. Or if I wanted something I would buy it. I would also have something to do over summer break. I would also be able to afford to go to college. I had some really good memories. One of the memories was watching the movie sausage party for the first time. It is kind of inappropriate but it is still a funny movie. Plus it has a pretty good story. Also had some very creative scenes that make you think about the movie. I also had a good time with my friends. Spending the night. Or just hanging out. Playing games or other stuff. My best memories of 2016 was when we went to Cancun. Cancun was so much fun we went swimming with the dolphins and I got to the beaches and malls. There were these “pirates ships we went on and it looked like a party was going in the ship, we only stayed there for a week and we stayed in a hotel and our hotel had a pool it was really fun. My worst memories of 2016 is when a tree breach feel on my mom room because all the rain was coming in and we had to take everything out of my mom's room and get it fixed and cut the tree in front of my house.
