PGSA Database – Summary of Methodology The database is currently split into 4 sections which are as follows :

1. Books 2. Clothing 3. Miscellaneous 4. Photographs Each of these databases contains 7 identical columns which can be used to find any one of the 300+ items currently held within the archive. The columns are broken down as shown in the examples below :Column 1.This is the number of the item within that particular database eg Books currently contains 130 separate entries. Column 2.This is the unique item classification. So for the first entry under Books the number is B (books) N (Notebook) 0000 (Date Unknown) 1 (First item of that type). A full list of the sub-categories for each database is shown below. Column 3.This is a fairly detailed item description Column 4.This is the unique item number. Every single item within the archive has this number attached to it & all items are currently filed in numerical order within their particular box. Column 5.This is the item’s current location. At present all items are being stored by me at my home address – available from Charlie Billington. Column 6.This is the date when the item was last known to be in its current location. Column 7.This General column contains any other information known about the item i.e.-the donor of the article. N.B. There is one glaring anomaly in that I have included an album containing 20 photographs under Books in the record.
