中文Mandarin

本校开设Pre-K 至9年级中文课，非中文家庭1至3年级，以及中 文 成 人 班 。 Mandarin Chinese classes offered for Chinese-speaking children from Pre-K to 9th Grade. 3 levels of Chinese classes designed specifically for non-Chinese speaking children. One Chinese as Second Language class offered for adults who are interested in learning Chinese.

中国书画Painting

Open to 5 years and up and Adults. Introduction of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting. Learn to write names in Chinese using brushes and paint bamboo, pandas, trees, flowers and so on in water and ink. Teacher: Mr. Li is the Chinese Calligraphy and painting teacher at the Confucius Institute Of the University of Delaware with five years of experience.

儿童合唱团 Children’s Choir

Open to 6-12 years. Music appreciation, singing and performance. Teachers: Both Ms. Ma and Ms. Gu have degrees in music education and have taught music in high schools in China for many years. Ms. Ma was also one of the directors at Boston Children’s Choir.

戏剧表演 Drama

Two sessions open to 8 years and up, must speak Chinese. Professional training in public speech, acting and drama performance. Teachers: Ms. M. Miao graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy in China. She has been a professional actress and model in China and the US for many years. Ms. X. Miao has a degree in Mass Media of Communication. She has more than eight years of experience as TV entertainment program host and director.

少儿舞蹈 Dance

Three sessions open to 5-7, 7-9 and 9 years and up. Teach Chinese children folk dances. Teachers: Ms. Wu has been teaching the dance class in our school for many years. Her dance classes performed in various school and state-wide events and celebrations with great reputation among parents and students.

Taiji

长拳 Kung Fu

Open to adults. Teach 24-Form simplified Taiji Quan in Fall and 32-Form Taiji Sword in Spring. Cover the attack and defense skills and ways of keeping good health. Teacher: Dr. Wu, PhD in Applied Linguistics, specialized in teaching Chinese as the Second Language. She has been practicing the Chinese zither, Taiji Quan and Taiji Sword since 2000. ChangQuan is one subcategory of Kung Fu and a kind of Chinese boxing that is extending and natural, flexible and vigorous, quick and powerful, with clear rhythms and various action and skills. Teacher: Ms. Sun has practiced Kung Fu for two years and is an expert in Chang Quan.
