The Special Meeting commenced at 6:55pm The Special Meeting was to discuss and approve the proposed changes to the Deaf Victoria Constitution, in particular in reference to: - Membership system - Eligibility criteria for the Board Members -

The Special Meeting was followed by the 33rd Deaf Victoria AGM. Special Meeting – Constitution changes Refer to the attached slides for details of the proposed constitution changes. 2.9.4 (displayed on Slide 6) James Blyth requested amendment to 2.9.4 to include the right for prospective Deaf Victoria members to appeal if they were not accepted as members. 2.7.5 (displayed on Slide 6) Barry Darwin requested clarification in regards to the respective arrangements of Deaf Australia and Deaf Victoria for maintaining separate Membership lists. 2.7.3 (displayed on Slide 6) Pam Dethridge requested that the clause (1) in reference to 30 September be removed. Julie Phillips and Robyn Beasley were elected by these present as independent observers who could count the votes of voting Members. 17 votes to pass the proposed constitution changes 3 votes to not pass the proposed constitution changes The Special Meeting closed at 7:20pm 33rd Annual General Meeting The 33rd Deaf Victoria Annual General Meeting commenced at 7:30pm A motion to approve the minutes from the 32nd AGM was moved by Ann Darwin, and seconded by Ramas Rentelis (McRae). Business arising from the 32nd AGM minutes Ann Darwin: query in regards to whether seniors are included as a priority in the Deaf Victoria Strategy Plan. Marnie Kerridge clarified that this was included in Deaf Victoria’s priorities as part of their contractual agreement with Department of Health and Human Services.

President Report Marnie Kerridge introduced the board and staff present. Marnie Kerridge delivered the President Report. A motion to accept the President Report was passed by Barry Darwin and seconded by Sherrie Beaver. Deaf Victoria Strategic Plan 2014 - 2017 Marnie Kerridge presented a summary of the Strategic Plan for 2014- 2017. A brief explanation was given about the state government funding received by Deaf Victoria. Finance Report Simon Glass presented the Finance Report for 2014-2015, saying that it had been a good year for Deaf Victoria financially. Simon Glass went through the financial report (attached) and explained the expenditure and balance sheet. Questions were called for from the audience. None were received. Simon Glass moved a motion to accept the Finances Report. This was seconded by Phil Harper. Election of Board Members Marnie Kerridge farewelled three departing board members; Ramas Rentelis, Stephen Nicholson and Vanessa Alford. Two new Board Members were welcomed; Peter Adams and Sherrie Beaver. Jody Barney nominated herself from the floor for the Board. This was seconded by James Blyth. Susan Emerson was nominated by Stef Linder for the Board. This was seconded by Alexander Straub. Both Jody and Susan were elected to the Board.
