Penny War Results!   As a result of our student population’s generosity and competitive spirit, our school raised over $600.00 to donate to Toys for Tots.  Mr. Snyder challenged students to raise over $400 and that challenge was more than surpassed.  As a result, Mr. Snyder will have to dress like a reindeer and sing for students before holiday break.

Intervention Extension As we work to implement our STEM programming at Alpine Elementary, we will also be adding another level of intervention for students. We plan to use our specialists strategically to check in and out with students in a variety of ways to help meet their academic and behavioral needs. 5th Grade Visits the Movies!   Our 5th grade recently visited the AMC theatre this past week to watch the movie, “Wonder”.  Students read the book in class as directed by our English Language Arts curriculum.  The book has a variety of valuable messages related to empathy, bullying and acceptance and kindness and the movie helped students reflect upon their learning.   These students have been nominated for being a leader in their classrooms and demonstrating what it means to be their BEST! Big Idea Focus - Generosity For the month of December our Big Idea focus is generosity. Frank A. Clark once said, “Real generosity is doing something nice for someone who will never find out.” This is a great month to think of ways with your child that they can do something nice for a family member, friend or neighbor without them ever finding out. Remember that all gifts do not need to cost something!

Safe Procedures Reminders.... Parking Lot Safety As we enter the colder months of the school and the busy holiday season, I would like to remind parents of the need to keep our parking lot and pick up/drop off loop safe. Please be mindful of your speed when entering and traveling within school grounds. Take extra care when passing cars on our pick up/drop off loop to ensure that you can see all those crossing the parking lane. It is also important for parents who park their cars to cross the parking lane to meet their child in front of the school building. This will ensure that each child has an escort when they cross the parking lane.

Student Drop Off Sign In Please remember that if you happen to be dropping off your student late or during the school day due to an appointment, students need to be signed in by an adult.

Volunteers Needed: SAVE THE DATE Our annual carnival is scheduled for January 26.   In order to make the event a success we will need numerous volunteers.  There will be two different shifts available so that you can volunteer for one and have time to enjoy the fun with your family.  Our PTO will be sending out an electronic sign up.  Please be sure to save the date!
