F ROM THE PASTOR
I would like to share with you the results of the recent Parish Pastoral Council election. Based on the fact that they received the most votes, Rosemarie DeLacy, Jim Taylor, and James Dudley (second term) are elected to three year terms. Patrick O’Mara will fill the remainder of a term, which has one year left, from a member who could no longer serve on the Council. Since I am allowed by virtue of the PPC By-laws, I am selecting Lisa Tavoletti and Jody Roffi to fill 1 year terms of appointment. Thank you to all who participated and congratulations to those who have consented to generously serve our parish! Here is the current membership of the St Athanasius Parish Pastoral Council by year and number of term being served: Class of 2018 Ed Fitzpatrick (1) Chris Scozzari (1) Patrick O’Mara (N/A) Class of 2019 Freddie Santosuosso (2) Christine Ambrose (1) Chrissy Cerratani (1) Class of 2020 Jim Dudley (2) Rosemarie DeLacy (1) Jim Taylor (1) 1 Year Appointments Lisa Tavoletti (1) Jody Roffi (N/A)

December 3 ~ First Sunday of Advent Advent is a season of waiting. All of us are waiting for the coming of Christ and as the Gospel says, “You do not know when the Lord is coming.” Pray for the strength to follow Jesus, to keep Him in mind even though the incessant commercialism of the season tries to turn our attention away from Him. And pray for the courage to introduce Jesus to others.
M
arriage is about beautiful weddings, romance, love and candlelight anniversary dinners, but marriage is also about dirty laundry, confrontations, balancing budgets, and hanging in there with teens. Retrouvaille is a program designed to provide help and support to married couples who are undergoing difficulties in their relationship, for those who are hurting in brokenness and loneliness. It has also proven helpful to couples who are separated or divorced. Although Retrouvaille is Catholic in origin, couples from all or no faith traditions are welcome to attend. The next program begins with the weekend of January 12-14, 2018. For further information, contact John & Christine at 508-271-7155. You can also e-mail questions at
