Case No. ___________
GINGER KATHRENS, et al.,
DECLARATION OF LISA JACOBSON
Plaintiffs,
In Support of Plaintiffs’ Motion for Preliminary Injunctive Relief
v. SALLY JEWELL, et al., Defendants.
1
DECLARATION OF LISA JACOBSON I, Lisa Jacobson, declare the following: 1.
I am a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and except for one year, have been
exclusively equine since graduation. I am submitting this declaration in support of Plaintiff’s Motion for Injunctive Relief. 2.
I attended the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and
Biomedical Sciences and graduated in 1999. After veterinary school, I completed an internship in Ocala, Florida at a 22 doctor, entirely equine practice. After the internship, I started a private mobile equine practice in MT and grew it to over 5,000 horses in the practice. I have a strong professional background in, amongst other things, reproduction, foaling, wounds, trauma, and dentistry. I have treated wild mustangs and as well have done a considerable amount of rescue work. I am licensed to practice in Colorado, Montana, and Florida. 3.
I believe it is important for veterinarians to view the procedures the BLM has
proposed to perform on wild horses in order to better assess the social acceptability of the procedures. Because I strongly believe it is important for the public to understand how wild horses are treated when in the care of the BLM, I am willing to attend and observe these experiments if given enough advanced notice to alter my veterinary schedule. Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1746, I hereby declare under penalty of injury that the foregoing is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief.
