Technology Coordinator
GENERAL DUTIES The Desktop Architect designs, implements and manages the processes and systems of user desktop architectures deployed by the Hillsboro School District. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS A. Demonstrated expertise implementing, managing and supporting Microsoft Desktop tools including operating systems, office systems, and support tools in an enterprise environment B. Demonstrated expertise managing the entire desktop architecture lifecycle including desktop image and software package management in a Microsoft Active Directory environment. This includes QA processes, image and package creation, QA, documentation, deployment and management. Tool set experience should include Microsoft deployment tools, LanDesk and other packaging tools C. Experience implementing, managing and supporting Apple OSX Desktop tools including operating systems, office systems and support tools in an enterprise environment D. Demonstrated successful experience in enterprise desktop patch and security management. This includes using system tools to test, QA, deploy, and manage desktop security and updates E. Demonstrated successful experience quickly diagnosing the nature and extent of desktop operating system and application issues, utilizing methodical troubleshooting steps to achieve a timely resolution F. Ability to transfer knowledge to district technical staff and end users G. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong customer service abilities serving both internal and external customers H. Flexible and adaptable to changing activities, schedules and workloads; I. Ability to simultaneously coordinate and complete multiple projects in an organized, process oriented manner; self-initiator J. Ability to work positively and cooperatively with others K. Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds in English, Spanish, or other languages related to the job L. Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district patrons M. Ability to work harmoniously with others

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES A. Responsible for the stability, quality, usability, and security of the Desktop environment for all end users B. Responsible for image and software lifecycles including but not limited to requirement identification, development, QA testing, deployment, documentation and maintenance of core OS and software packages used by staff and students, on District hardware configurations meeting District system and end user functionality requirements C. Responsible for the development and management of desktop architecture documentation including QA scripts and processes and OS/package documentation D. Responsible for the evaluation and testing of educational and business software throughout the product lifecycle used by end users. This includes working with stakeholders to ensure that product selection and deployment lifecycles meet end user and system requirements E. Responsible for desktop patch and security lifecycle. This includes working with all required District and departmental stakeholders to ensure a secure, usable desktop environment F. Provide advanced desktop support for department staff and end users taking ownership as needed to troubleshoot and resolve system desktop and application issues. Coordinate with supervisor to assure issues effecting enterprise systems are managed according to Technology Services response processes and policies G. Continually evaluate hardware and software solutions, make recommendations as required to position the District to manage growth and technology evolution H. Research, analyze, and recommend appropriate hardware and software for customized configurations and enterprise solutions I. Review, prioritize, and process work order requests; maintain a project list and document the progress of those projects J. Strive for customer service excellence in dealing with and responding to requests K. Responsible for managing the District’s work order tracking system L. Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment
