Detachment of 2"d Pantry Car from selectedRajdhani trains - non-provision of accommodationfor the escorting staff of Mechanical & Electrical Departmentsreg.

The Railway Board vide letter No. 2018/TG 111164178 dated 11.03.2016addressedto CCMs of Indian Railways have decided that 2"d Pantry car on certain selectedRajdhani Express trains should be detachedhenceforth and replacedwith AC-3 Tier coachesin order to strengthen passengercarrying capacity on the said trains. The instructions further stipulate that provision of berths in the 2nd Pantry Car will be availableonly for Train Superintendentand onboardcatering staff. In this conneption, it is brought to the notice of Railway Board that the staff of Mechanical and Electrical Departments are escorting Rajdhani trains for ensuring running maintenance.Denial of berth facility to these staff is unjust and unacceptable.It seems,the Railway Board have issued lopsided instructions without showing concem to the on duty escortingstaff of different departments(Mechanical & Electrical) who man Rajdhani Trains. NFIR therefore, requests your kind intervention for ensuring that resting facility is provided to the on duty staff of Mechanical and Electrical Departments who escort Rajdhani trains.
