Special Funding Requests may be submitted to the DC PTA for an item, program or activity. Requests must be submitted to the DC Principal for review and approval prior to the DC PTA meeting during which the request will be reviewed by the general membership. If the request is approved by the Principal, it will be forwarded to the PTA for review. You may be asked to present your proposal in person at the general DC PTA meeting during which the request is being reviewed.
The following criteria may be used when reviewing a request for funding. Other criteria may also be considered at the discretion of the General Membership.
How the funds will directly impact student learning Are funds being used for something that will be implemented in DC classrooms or on campus Longevity of the item/program/activity being purchased (i.e. ongoing, annual or semi-annual) Number of students the item/program/activity will impact Does the item/program/activity provide good cost/benefit ratio Are there funds in the budget to cover the cost of the item/program/activity
NOTE: All grant recipients must agree to provide follow up reports, either in writing or in person up to two times over the course of the year that funding is received, as determined by the DC PTA. Grant recipients will also be expected to convey DC PTA’s support of their item/program/activity as deemed appropriate.

Please attach a written narrative including the following elements that are applicable to your special funding request: PROJECTED DESCRIPTION: Describe your grant request. What is the objective? How will students benefit? Where will it be implemented? Where will the project take place? How long will it be in use? Which students, and how many will be impacted? What additional activities, materials and methods will be needed to implement the project? BUDGET: Specify and itemize the funding request and describe how the funds will be used (i.e. supplies, services) and over what period of time. Have you applied for any other grants or obtained additional funding from other sources for this project, item or program? If DC PTA cannot fund some or all of your request, will you pursue other funding options or not? CONTACTS AND REFERRALS: List contacts available for additional information and referrals who have successfully implemented this program. EVALUATION: How will the success of the program be measured and how will you share those findings with the DC PTA? DETAILS TO CONSIDER: If the request is for an item, is installation required?
