A​ ​digipak​ ​is​ ​a​ ​type​ ​of​ ​packaging​ ​for​ ​CDs​ ​and​ ​style​ ​of optical​ ​disk​ ​packaging.​ ​They​ ​are​ ​usually​ ​made​ ​as​ ​a gatefold​ ​like​ ​a​ ​book.​ ​These​ ​are​ ​mainly​ ​used​ ​by​ ​artists that​ ​have​ ​special​ ​editions​ ​and​ ​albums.​ ​For​ ​example, Travis​ ​Scott’s​ ​deluxe​ ​album,​ ​Rodeo,​ ​ ​the​ ​outer packaging​ ​is​ ​ ​made​ ​of​ ​card​ ​paper​ ​and​ ​the​ ​interior​ ​is made​ ​of​ ​plastic.

A​ ​digipak​ ​has​ ​front​ ​and​ ​back​ ​panels​ ​that​ ​are​ ​the​ ​main features​ ​ ​for​ ​promoters​ ​of​ ​the​ ​publishing​ ​record​ ​label​ ​of​ ​the​ ​album​ ​CD​ ​these​ ​features​ ​attract customers​ ​to​ ​want​ ​to​ ​look​ ​at​ ​it​ ​and​ ​purchase​ ​it. The​ ​common​ ​elements​ ​of​ ​a digipak​ ​include​ ​the​ ​artist's​ ​name, album​ ​title,​ ​recording​ ​label​ ​logo, barcode​ ​and​ ​other​ ​credits.​ ​These are​ ​normally​ ​used​ ​to​ ​build​ ​the authenticity​ ​of​ ​the​ ​CD​ ​content and​ ​the​ ​positive​ ​sense​ ​of​ ​trust and​ ​value​ ​of​ ​the​ ​artist​ ​to​ ​their customers.​ ​Thus​ ​means​ ​that​ ​the customers​ ​can​ ​purchase​ ​it because​ ​they​ ​know​ ​the​ ​added​ ​value. Digipaks​ ​vary​ ​with​ ​the​ ​artist​ ​and​ ​different​ ​genres​ ​because​ ​they​ ​have​ ​different​ ​views​ ​and​ ​style they​ ​want​ ​to​ ​present​ ​themselves​ ​to​ ​their​ ​audience.​ ​For​ ​example,​ ​Jay​ ​Z​ ​and​ ​Kanye​ ​West’s Watch​ ​the​ ​Throne​ ​album​ ​digipak​ ​cover:

The​ ​two​ ​artists​ ​haven’t​ ​included​ ​their​ ​own​ ​photographs​ ​featuring​ ​on​ ​the​ ​cover,​ ​instead​ ​is​ ​has geometrical​ ​prints,​ ​surreal​ ​religious​ ​iconography​ ​and​ ​highly​ ​symmetrical​ ​compositional schemata,​ ​also​ ​adding​ ​a​ ​heightened​ ​sense​ ​of​ ​magisterial​ ​ritualism​ ​to​ ​the​ ​design​ ​experience.
