As per G.O. 1"t read above, sanction was accorded to the Heads of Schools of all categories including Government/Aided Higher Secondary Schools and Vocational Higher Secondary Schools to open Personal Deposit Accounts with respective treasuries exclusively for depositing Special fee and Caution Deposit collected from students on condition that all existing accounts being operated for this purpose shall be closed. Again, all other Educational Institutions such as Colleges, Teachers Training Institutions, ITIs etc. were also permitted to open PD accounts on similar conditions vide G.O. 2nd read above, Requests have been received from various educational institutions

Government have examined the matter in detail and are pleased to allow interest at SB rate to the PD accounts opened by educational institutions based on the Government orders referred to above on condition that Government money shall not be deposited into this account.
