The following omendmentsmoy be mode to Rule 510 of the fndian Railwoy Code,Vdlume-f,1985Edition(ReprintEdition- 2008):Estoblishment Rule 51O moy be substituted os under:510- rlAoximunonount of continuous leave.

(1) No Railwayservant shall be granted leave of any kind for a continwus period exceedingfive years. (?) llnless the President, in view of the exceptianal circumstances of the case otherwise determines, a Railwayservant who remainsabsent from duty for a continuous p,riod exceeding five years other than on foreign service, with ar withont leave, shall be deemedto haveresigned f rom the Pailwayservice; Providetdthat a reasonable opportunity to explain the reasons for suchabsence shallbe given to that Pailwayservant befare provisionsaf sub'rule (2) are invoked. In the case of all 6roup the power to grant the leave beyond maximum priod of 5 years is delegated to concerned Gltls.
