We CLOSE IN on the Sacred World. A green world in space. It is surrounded by fourteen to sixteen of its shining moons. The moon closest to us, positioned north-west of the planet, casts a crescent shadow on its lower side. 2
EXT. LAKESIDE - DAY

A pebble skips fast across the expanse of the sparkling blue lake, dashing offscreen. There is a person in the distance, sitting on the green of the field. A closer look reveals the person to be KIBITO KAI. But different, radically different. His long grey hair is now cut short and his light pink skin is several shades darker. It seems he has abandoned his traditional garments in favor of white, baggy trousers and a bare-chest. No earrings. Kibito Kai no longer exudes his usual zest and friendliness but instead a tough and stoic character. He is actually quite terrifying, and badass. There is an eerie quietness about the place. Kibito Kai fondles a pebble in his hand as he resumes his brooding. He looks into the lake, beholding his reflection. The image bend and warps under the ripples, changing into the Kibito Kai that we remember him as. FLASHBACK TO: 3
EXT. SACRED WORLD - DAY KID BUU: white, baggy trousers and bare-chested. He stands before GOKU and VEGETA, laughing gleefully, he gestures to them, 'Come on'. END FLASHBACK The refection morphs back to normal. Kibito Kai closes his eyes for a moment, sighing as he maintains his composure. He is about to skip the pebble when-OLD KAI (V.O.) Kibito Kai. KIBITO KAI ... OLD KAI (V.O.) Apprentice. KIBITO KAI Master. OLD KAI (V.O.) Attend to me in my study. Your wisdom is required.

2. KIBITO KAI Yes, sir. Kibito Kai is about to skip the pebble when he notices something. He holds out his hand. The pebble has been crushed to fine particles of dust. 4

OLD KAI sits at his desk over an assortment of books, scrolls and other items. His study also includes library shelves. He is reading through a book, comparing it with a scroll. Kibito Kai opens the door and enters. KIBITO KAI Master. OLD KAI Sit. He sits at the desk, opposite Old Kai. KIBITO KAI Have you been avoiding me? OLD KAI I have been preoccupied with a pressing concern. But I understand that you are highly educated on astrotheological matters? KIBITO KAI Yes, sir. OLD KAI Very good. It seems I have missed much in my million year hiatus. Time has robbed me of, of time. KIBITO KAI We're all that's left. Old Kai hands him a scroll. OLD KAI I received a vision today from Shin, the Creator. It has left me awfully unsettled. KIBITO KAI An apocalyptic vision?
3. OLD KAI Yes. I transcribed and compared it with other apocalypse narratives but I have yet to find any middle ground. It eludes me. Kibito Kai reads through the scroll. KIBITO KAI This is unlike anything I've studied. Describe it to me. OLD KAI I was in my study, writing a record of lower realm happenings, when I was suddenly thrusted into the future. 6
EXT. WASTELAND - NIGHT Old Kai finds himself on a dark world. hellish place.

OLD KAI (V.O.) I was on a planet. I sensed that some calamity happened there a long time ago. It stunk of death. He gazes ahead at something. OLD KAI (V.O.) (CONT'D) And then I saw it, the thing, the destroyer. I cannot remember the face. He sees an apparition, impalpable and obscured. It has bright red eyes. It looks up, into the depths of space. OLD KAI (V.O.) (CONT'D) But it was a saiyan. And yet different. It was some kind of avatar, a telepathic construct. More characters have been added to the vision. These people lie bloody, bruised and dead at the feet of the apparition. Old Kai sees them. GOKU. VEGETA. GOHAN. GOTEN. TRUNKS. KIBITO KAI. OLD KAI (V.O.) (CONT'D) I sensed it had great power. It killed the earthen saiyans. You were there. 7
EXT. STUDY - DAY Kibito Kai looks up, he now shares Old Kai's unsettling feeling.

4. OLD KAI It pains me because I felt it all as if it happened. In fact, I can still feel it. I saw you die. 8
EXT. WASTELAND - NIGHT

Old Kai looks into his crystal ball, it shows nothing. OLD KAI (V.O.) In the vision, I saw that this planet would emanate darkness and hopelessness throughout the universe, laying waste to a billion billion galaxies. 9
EXT. STUDY - DAY

OLD KAI I saw that this monster was born of Earth. It rendered the earth a swirling chasm of darkness. And at the center of it, was Goku. I believe he is the cause of this nightmare. KIBITO KAI He's a good man. OLD KAI There is no excuse for oversight. I felt that I had failed in my duty as Supreme Kai. All I know from my studies is that the planet I was on was called Silva. KIBITO KAI Interesting. OLD KAI You know of it? KIBITO KAI Planet Silva is the origin of the saiyans. I created it when the Supreme Kais gave life to them. OLD KAI That can't be a coincidence. happened to it?

KIBITO KAI His Omnipotence had us create warrior races that could produce destroyer gods to cultivate the universe. But the saiyans were unruly and threatened to overrun everything. They were a doomed species.
5. OLD KAI He destroyed them. KIBITO KAI But a minority survived and they have been a nomadic race ever since, migrating from world to world. But it always ended in disaster. OLD KAI Why? KIBITO KAI Pride. It has pushed them to the brink of extinction many times before. OLD KAI Pride always goes before the fall. I fear, the meaning of my vision is the sum total of their legacy. The fear of the Creator. What if history is apt repeat itself one last time. KIBITO KAI Then the universe would need its guardians. OLD KAI This is my burden. Though I am tempted to reinstate you. But I will endure. (he rises, determined) To save the universe. Goku must be stopped, no matter the cost. CUT TO: OPENING CREDITS CUT TO:

The planet is a blue orb with one large, green land mass. Space is purple. 11

GOKU. He wears his traditional gi but with additional weights on his arms and legs. But they don't deter him, he continues his training, punching and kicking at lightning speed. He is a blur. His eyes, determined. A crowd of fighters have formed around him. by him.
They are amazed
6. Amongst the crowd is also NORTH KAI and GRAND KAI. GRAND KAI How much do those weigh? NORTH KAI Sixty tons. GRAND KAI He's insane. NORTH KAI This is why I brought him here. GRAND KAI What's wrong with him exactly? NORTH KAI It's his pride, saiyans have a fighting drive but there's none to accommodate him. GRAND KAI Three years of peacetime must be torture. NORTH KAI He almost destroyed my planet. GRAND KAI Doesn't he have a family? NORTH KAI They're fine. He just hasn't integrated into the world like Vegeta has. Anyway, I'll be back in a few years to pick him up. GRAND KAI But he's your student. equipped for this

NORTH KAI Hey, I deserve some me time after three years of training. I'm thinking of visiting the paradise planet, Kazan. Soak in the hot springs. Maybe get a massage by a harem of blue-skinned she-devils. GRAND KAI You're not leaving him here. NORTH KAI He's not staying with me. it's an impasse.

He continues training.
GRAND KAI (CONT'D) Goku! Goku ceases his training. He floats to them.
He sees Grand Kai waving to him.
GOKU King Kai, you couldn't make these heavier could you? Grand Kai gestures to the weights, causing them to dematerialize. GOKU (CONT'D) Hey. GRAND KAI I think it would be best for us all if you left. What?
GOKU I just got here.
GRAND KAI Go home, Goku. That's an order. GOKU Home is boring. GRAND KAI Your family needs you. GOKU But I need to train. GRAND KAI Your training's complete, congratulations. GOKU I'm not satisfied yet. GRAND KAI Are you arguing with a Kai? GOKU (bowing) No, sir. Sorry, sir. Forgive me, oh magnificent excellency. (stops) Well, this is a bummer. Alright.
8. He puts two fingers to his forehead. INSTANT TRANSMISSION.
And then disappears.
GRAND KAI Tell me about Kazan. 12

Old Kai and Kibito Kai stand at the back of the mansion, looking down onto the green landscape. KIBITO KAI You think, by holding me back you're protecting me? I am stronger than Goku now. I'm stronger than I ever was. OLD KAI You're missing the point. KIBITO KAI The point is I'm better. OLD KAI Don't. KIBITO KAI The universe needs its Supreme Kais. OLD KAI You are not ready. KIBITO KAI You demoted me to apprentice because you were unimpressed. And out of duty you trained me. Now is the time for me to prove myself. OLD KAI I cannot deny you your improvements, but the stakes are too high to afford the risk. I cannot fail. KIBITO KAI This isn't a deal with the devil, its me, your dutiful apprentice. If you give me a chance, I believe I can impress you. OLD KAI How? KIBITO KAI I have a plan. We don't know how this event will unfold but we can rule out a few possibilities. Please, don't deny me the purpose I was born for.
9. OLD KAI Why did the Creator put the weight of the universe on my shoulders? KIBITO KAI Because he knew you could bare it. But I can lighten the load. OLD KAI Tell me of your plan. 13
INT. GOHAN'S BEDROOM - DAY GOHAN is at his workstation. He has a preppy look, very classy. He wears his glasses and a mustard sweater over a blue collared shirt. And also dark green trousers. His workstation consist of a computer and disordered books and papers. He is clearly stressed. CHI-CHI (O.S.) Gohan? GOHAN Yeah. CHI-CHI enters the room, holding a basket of laundry. CHI-CHI How's the progress? GOHAN Stagnant, feels like I hit a brick wall. And the deadline for my thesis is in two weeks. CHI-CHI I hate to see you like this. GOHAN I've just been fantasizing about being a professor. I think I give up. CHI-CHI What would your father do? GOHAN He'd persevere until he succeeded. CHI-CHI Exactly. Don't lose hope. Take a break. It's a sunny day, that should clear your mind. GOHAN You're right. Thank you.

10. CHI-CHI Speaking of your father. Goku is back from one of his space adventures. Though I'm not sure how long he'll stay. Your father is highly capricious. (sigh) Have dinner with us. I made you zaru soba. GOHAN I really want to but, the thesis. CHI-CHI Good luck. And wish me luck, I'm gonna see if I can get your father to plough the field. GOHAN I can do that later. No, his you all
CHI-CHI don't cover for him. This is responsibility. Next thing know, he'll be letting you do his chores. GOHAN

INT. GOKU'S KITCHEN - DAY Chi-Chi is at the sink, washing dishes. accumulated a pile of bowls and plates. must be a demanding job.

Goku sits at the dinner table, eating away. the world. He tears into a leg of lamb.

CHI-CHI How was space? GOKU (mouth full of food) Space was fun. (swallows) But Grand Kai kicked me off his planet. So now I got to find another place to train. (takes another bite) I can't go to King Kai. Maybe the time chamber. I could train with Vegeta, but he's too grouchy. CHI-CHI Maybe you shouldn't impose yourself on others.
11. GOKU Huh? There hasn't years. Stay go out for a discuss your

GOKU I really need to train. CHI-CHI What's the need? GOKU I suppose because I need an opponent to fight. To tell you the truth, I'm getting tired of waiting. CHI-CHI When are you going to plough the field. I want to farm oranges. We could use the extra cash. GOKU (mouthful) Later. CHI-CHI How late? GOKU (swallows) What about Gohan? CHI-CHI I told him not to cover for you. It's time you acknowledge your responsibilities. And please encourage Gohan, he is struggling with his thesis. He idolizes you. GOKU What's a thesis? CHI-CHI Ask him. Goku demolishes his lamb. Chi-Chi stacks the plates from the table and carries them to the sink. Goku leans back on his chair, eyeing some noodles in a bamboo strainer. GOKU Is that zaru soba?
12. CHI-CHI That's for Gohan. GOKU But I'm hungry. Chi-Chi shoots him a look that makes him cringe in fear. He closes his eyes and begins musing. Zaru.
GOKU (V.O.) (CONT'D) That'll work.

INT. DARKNESS - NIGHT Blackness. Goku stares into endless space. fighting serious.
15 He is serious,
A figure becomes discernable. It fades into vision as it walks towards Goku. It stops and stares with bright red eyes. The figure is unidentifiable but we remember it to be the same entity from Old Kai's vision in the opening. It's a stand-off between these two people.
And then--
The destroyer punches Goku who blocks it with his forearm. But the thing continues with more consecutive punches. Goku remains on the defensive. Momentum is gained in the destroyer's assault, causing the battle to assume a rapid pace. But Goku is effortlessly able to keep up, and is now returning the punches. They fight at superspeed, the dark void around them seems to rumble under the might of their strength. The destroyer teleports, evading the punch meant for its face. It reappears behind Goku who is quick to notice. He turns with a kick but again, the entity teleports. He appears at Goku's side before shifting around him continuously. Finally, he takes advantage of Goku's confusion and connects a punch to the side of his face. Goku recovers and then cups his hands. A bright, blue light forms at the center. We know what this is. Goku's signature attack. Once the energy has formed, Goku yells as he fires it. The blast hits the destroyer with a locomotive force. It pushes him back at high speeds before crashing into the ground. The creature lies on the floor, amongst the smoke. up as...
It looks
Goku flies upwards, creating a vast distance of space between he and the destroyer. His hair begins to flow and lift up, glowing yellow.
13. He flares like a star. We cannot see his body only the burning light. It grows at an accelerated rate, racing towards us. It is all-consuming-END FANTASY: 16
INT. GOKU'S KITCHEN - DAY

Goku continues his thoughts. GOKU (V.O.) I wish I had an opponent to fight. His eyes shoot open. head.

GOKU (CONT'D) Eureka! I'll just use the dragon balls to find one. He bolts out of his chair. CHI-CHI Dragon balls? What for-- wait, you were suppose to plough the field-The door slams shut.
Goku is long gone. CHI-CHI (CONT'D)

EXT. GOKU'S HOUSE - DAY Goku wanders behind the house, talking to himself. lost in thought.

GOKU There are seven dragon balls and one me. (calculating with fingers) Equals six? I'll need the others to help. I'm sure I can win them over. He spots Gohan sitting under a tree on a wooden swing. in the dumps. He approaches him. Gohan!
GOKU (CONT'D) Yoo-hoo. GOHAN
Dad. GOKU Hey, how's it going? GOHAN I was just thinking about work.

14. GOKU Lost your motivation huh? GOHAN How do you know? GOKU Chi-Chi told me. That's why I'm here, to help you get back on that horse. GOHAN I'm open to suggestion. GOKU Great. I think, the reason to why you're struggling is because your routine is the same. You need excitement. You are a saiyan after all, and saiyans need to fight. (does a whispering gesture) Don't tell your mother but I hear there's a really strong person out there who wants to fight us. But we need the dragon balls to find him. GOHAN I don't think fighting is the solution. GOKU Gohan, listen to your father. GOHAN But I have work to do. GOKU Do it later. Have you kept up with your training? GOHAN (embarrassed) No. GOKU You have an extraordinary talent, son. And I believe in you. Make your father proud. GOHAN It's good to see you. It has been a while, with you training and me studying and all. Who is this person? GOKU It's a secret. But I promise, a great battle is coming.
15. GOHAN Whoever he is, I'll be the one to win. GOKU That's the spirit. now.

He places two fingers on his forehead, preparing for Instant Transmission. GOHAN Where are you going? GOKU If we're gonna find the dragon balls, we'll need a radar. He teleports in an instant. Gohan gets up. Determined. has been injected with new life and purpose. 18

He searches under his bed and pulls out a cardboard box, removing the lid. There is his gi, identical to his father's. 19
INT. GRAVITY ROOM - DAY

VEGETA rubs a gloved fist under his nose. It is smeared with blood. He looks ahead to his opponent. An orange and black android. It bares the Capsule Corporation logo. BATTLE BOT. Vegeta wears his white gloves and boots, and his blue outfit from the Buu Saga. VEGETA Replay crane sequence. BATTLE BOT Accessing file... initiating crane sequence. Battle Bot assumes a martial arts stance. For those of you who are familiar with Dragon Ball Z. You know this is Goku's trademark stance. Vegeta stands, on guard, waiting. We get a view from Battle Bot's perspective. It scans Vegeta: numbers, graphs and diagrams appearing on its orange screen. The android dashes forward like lightning. It lunges with a strike, aimed directly at Vegeta's head. But he is swift yet uneventful in his evasion, surpassing the androids incredible speed. It continues the sequence, unloading more high-speed strikes, yet fails to land a single attack. This is a dance to Vegeta. A dance he has performed a million times.
16. VEGETA Analysis. BATTLE BOT Execution: one hundred percent. VEGETA Good, switch to freestyle. BATTLE BOT Initiating freestyle. The android processes this and resumes its attack. But this time, Vegeta cannot afford to be as graceful as he was before. Bottle Bot instantly lands a blow to his face. Vegeta is able to block the next series of attacks but is quickly sent grimacing by a kick to the arm. This has a debilitating effect as he is too slow to defend against the next sequences of attacks that comes raining down on him. He takes a knee.
Battle Bot towers over him.
BATTLE BOT (CONT'D) Do you wish to surrender? VEGETA Like hell. Battle Bot processes this and then throws another punch. But Vegeta catches it in his hand. He clamps down on the androids fist, crushing it into scrap. This stuns the android long enough for Vegeta to land a ferocious blow, punching his fist through Battle Bot's chest. It begins to malfunction, spazzing manically. Error.
BATTLE BOT Error. Error.
Err--
Vegeta headbutts it, knocking its head clean off. Bot tumbles backwards. Lifeless. A bug-like probe buzzes towards the scene. holographic screen. BULMA. BULMA If you want my help to beat Goku, you have to be more cooperative. VEGETA You outdid yourself when you programmed the android with Kakarot's fighting style. I actually lost myself. BULMA We're making progress.

17. VEGETA But the a.i. hasn't emulated his mind completely. BULMA How did you know? VEGETA I'm still standing. BULMA The data I appropriated from Dr. Gero is outdated. I don't have much to work with. Rome wasn't built in a day. VEGETA And in time, I'll ascend beyond my limits. BULMA If it makes you feel better, I think you're doing the right thing. VEGETA You're a jealous woman. BULMA You're my inspiration. VEGETA Which is why I'm ending my rivalry with Kakarot. It has been a constant motivator for many years. But I feel the energy waxing weak now that the battle is won. BULMA When you win. What happens then? VEGETA My pride will finally know peace. He heads towards the exit. BULMA And? VEGETA I retire. 20

He exits the gravity room and sees Goku waiting for him. VEGETA Speak of the devil. you here, Kakarot?

18. GOKU A proposal. VEGETA You caught me on a good day. GOKU What if I told you there was someone we could fight, a rival who wanted to fight us? But only Shenron has the means to bring him here. So-VEGETA You want the dragon radar. GOKU What do you say? VEGETA Your an idiot. And delusional. Too naive to see why that's a terrible idea. GOKU We're full-blooded saiyans. VEGETA A false assumption to think I'd approve. GOKU But you do understand? VEGETA That doesn't change anything. GOKU Why? VEGETA Because you lack emotional intelligence. GOKU And yet, you're still training. VEGETA That's none of your business. GOKU You've achieved Super Saiyan 3 haven't you? VEGETA It's none of your business, Kakarot. GOKU Okay. I guess I'll just have to find another rival.
19. VEGETA Who is this person? GOKU It's a secret. VEGETA Don't play games with me. GOKU He's a mystery fighter. VEGETA A mystery fighter? That's something you can't anticipate. GOKU I know right. Isn't it exciting? VEGETA You're quite the trickster. GOKU Gohan also planned on fighting. That's three against one. VEGETA I'll take those odds. This mystery fighter will fall by my hand. 21
EXT. CAPSULE CORPORATION - DAY GOTEN and TRUNKS are running around the complex. They are chasing a spy quadcopter drone which Trunks pilots with his handheld controller. GOTEN Quit hogging it. They run around a building. fathers.

TRUNKS Goten, your dad's here. GOTEN (ecstatic) Daddy! TRUNKS Wait. Trunks grabs him as he ducks and hides behind a building. He has a hand over Goten's mouth, muffling his protest. Shh.
TRUNKS (CONT'D) They're talking.

20. GOTEN Let me go. TRUNKS We can't disturb them. (a beat) But we can spy on them. A tablet is attached to the controller he holds. with the joystick.

The drone rises higher into the air and begins to trail towards Goku and Vegeta. 22

We look down on Goku and Vegeta talking as the drone hovers into view. 23
EXT. CAPSULE CORPORATION - DAY

The footage is streamed directly to the tablet. Goten and Trunks squash their faces together as they watch it. GOTEN I can't hear anything. TRUNKS Your dad wants to use the dragon balls to fight someone. A mystery fighter. GOTEN I wonder who it could be. I bet it's someone big and scary like Broly. TRUNKS Everyone knows a mystery is for dramatic reveal. (teasing) Your dad probably has an evil twin. They break apart, squaring off. GOTEN Take that back. TRUNKS Nope. Goten socks him in the face. Ow!
Trunks falls down.
TRUNKS (CONT'D) It was a joke. GOTEN
Oh, sorry.
21. Trunks flips up. TRUNKS Hey, we should join them. GOTEN I don't think our dads will approve. TRUNKS Of course they will. Think about, whoever the mystery fighter is, he won't stand a chance against Gotenks. Our dads will be so impressed they'll buy us anything we want. GOTEN Cool, plus we'll get to show off our new technique. TRUNKS Exactly. Gotenks has it all. Confidence. Showmanship. Star quality. All eyes will be on us. GOTEN Let's do it. They run to their fathers... 24
EXT. GRAVITY ROOM - DAY TRUNKS Can we come? Please let us come. We wanna fight too. What?

Um. Trunks gestures up. the sky.
Vegeta looks up and sees the drone in
VEGETA The answer, is no. GOKU Lighten up, Vegeta. Gotenks can handle himself. The more the merrier. VEGETA The children have no place in our venture.
22. GOKU Think of Gotenks as a countermeasure, our insurance. VEGETA That is exactly what he would want. TRUNKS No, we don't. We'll behave. GOTEN Yeah, we'll be good. GOKU See. And we need them anyway to help us find the dragon balls. VEGETA Do I have your word? TRUNKS (fingers crossed behind back) Y--yes. GOKU Then it's settled. now is a radar.

EXT. GRAVITY ROOM - DAY - LATER Vegeta hands Goku the Dragon Radar. and the device lights up.

GOKU That's strange. TRUNKS What? Are we still gonna find the dragon balls? GOKU Someone already has. Goku shows them the radar. It's true. It shows that all seven dragon balls have already been assembled. CUT TO: 26
EXT. DESERT CANYON - DAY The seven dragon balls have been gathered in a circle. Two figures stand over them. Old Kai and Kibito Kai.

OLD KAI Be wise.

KIBITO KAI What about you? OLD KAI I will observe and judge, not overrule. I'm trusting you to make the right decision, Kibito. KIBITO KAI I won't jeopardize you. The saiyans are assembled and are flying through the sky at supersonic speed. We see, in the distance, the desert canyon. It grows bigger and clearer as we fly towards it. They fly past Kami's Lookout. 28
EXT. KAMI'S LOOKOUT

PICCOLO and DENDE stand at the edge of the Lookout, watching them. Piccolo seems concerned by their actions. 29
EXT. SKY - DAY Goku looks at the radar. GOKU We're almost there. VEGETA I know. I'm sensing two incredibly high power levels. Far stronger than anything we've ever seen before.

24. GOHAN You didn't mention there being two fighters in your plan. VEGETA It seems there is much Kakarot has failed to mention. GOKU Though convenient. part of the plan.

It would be an oversight to underestimate your overdependence on the dragon balls. And their penchant for entertaining wishful thoughts. Kibito Kai.
GOKU Old Kai. KIBITO KAI
Goku. OLD KAI ... GOKU Why are you here?

25. KIBITO KAI We're here for the dragon balls. Just like you. GOKU Well, this is a problem. GOHAN It doesn't have to be. Shenron can grant two wishes. We can just share. KIBITO KAI I don't care about wishes. But I do care about you abusing their essence for the benefit of a vain fantasy. So I will be confiscating them as a precaution. VEGETA What? GOHAN You can't. GOKU We need them. KIBITO KAI I do not require your permission. I am a god, and I act with righteous judgment. As Supreme Kai and your friend, I'm doing this for your own protection. VEGETA We don't need protection. KIBITO KAI My master had a vision, of a universe apocalypse, brought about by one called The Destroyer. This creature originated from Earth. I'm sorry, but your actions have invoked our presence. VEGETA Fortunately, it is convenient that Kibito here fits the bill perfectly. Maybe you're the opponent we've been looking for. KIBITO KAI As exciting as that sounds. won't be entertaining you. GOKU What if you're wrong?

Doesn't that mean anything. KIBITO KAI It means everything. (a beat) Which I why I will allow you the dragon balls. GOTEN Alright! TRUNKS Yeah! KIBITO KAI But if you're wrong, Goku. If the Destroyer treads one foot on this Earth. There will be consequences. We are trusting you. Do not put that trust in jeopardy. Kibito Kai places a hand on Old Kai' shoulder and in an instant, they disappear. VEGETA Good riddance. GOKU Finally. I'm so excited. (to the dragon balls) Arise, mighty Shenron! The dragon balls begin to radiate a luminous light. It shines brightly. Dark clouds suddenly begin to form, filling the sky with blackness. Thunder rolls, striking the earth with lightning. A pillar of light shoots from the balls, into the sky. It bends and curves. A green, serpentine dragon thunders out of the clouds. SHENRON.

VEGETA Finally, the identity of the mystery fighter will be revealed. GOKU I think it's safe to say that there never was a mystery fighter. VEGETA What do you mean by that? GOKU I made it all up so you'd help me. VEGETA What!? GOHAN You've been winging it the whole time? GOTEN Daddy? VEGETA You mischievous trickster. was all for nothing.

SHENRON The Supreme Kais are divine beings. It is above my station to summon them. VEGETA Please tell me you have an idea. GOKU I'm thinking. SHENRON You have one wish remaining. VEGETA Think harder, Kakarot. GOKU I've got it! Shenron, I have this obsession for a few years. A character I created called Zaru. Could you, uh, make him real? SHENRON Hmm. Shenron peers into Goku's mind. figure from Goku's fantasy. I see.

SHENRON (CONT'D) This, I can do. GOKU
Phew! A bolt of lightning crackles before Goku. It thunders and claps as an outline of golden energy is formed. A gust of wind blows towards the spectacle. It carries a swarm of blackened matter, essentially particles. We see them assemble within the outline, building a body. A torso is built, and then legs form beneath it. An arm. It extends into a hand. The hand clenches into a fist. The saiyans look on gleefully. The body is complete. It floats in the air. The shadowy qualities fade away revealing Zaru. The energy outline dissipates as the body is gently lowered to the ground.

Shenron's form energises and returns to the dragon balls. They shoot into the sky and fly off in different directions. The black sky returns to a clear blue. 33

But is lacking the cheerful and naive qualities. There is a sinister feel to him. His gi is also reminiscent of Goku's but is green and grey. The saiyans observe. GOHAN This is strange. GOTEN He looks just like dad.

30. TRUNKS I told you so. Vegeta has no words but a steely gaze. Goku studies Zaru, his eyes serious. But Zaru is oblivious to this, he lifts his head up to the sky, eyes closed. He is pleased as he comprehends his existence. ZARU This is all so bizarre. This being, the thoughts and sensations. (to Goku) Thank you, my creator. GOKU I wasn't expecting... ZARU To see yourself?

Zaru stretches his neck to one side, and then to the other. The muscles click and crack. ZARU (CONT'D) I know everything about you. He then begins cracking his knuckles. GOKU What are you? ZARU I am Zaru: Pride of all Saiyans. Born in the chaos of your unconscious. I embody the subterranean depths of your mind. GOKU Then you know why we're here. ZARU I do. When Shenron was unable to find your ideal opponent. The prospect of prolonged frustration terrified you. And that terror gave rise to me. GOKU I have waited a long time for this. ZARU As have I. Goku nods to the saiyans behind him. They immediately understand the gesture. It's time to clear the area. They fly off to a canyon.

GOKU Show time. In a CLAP of energy. Goku is ablaze with a fiery yellow aura. His hair stands up, yellow. Goku has become a SUPER SAIYAN. His form is followed by a second CLAP of energy. The aura flows more violently now. His hair has spiked. And electricity crackles around his body. SUPER SAIYAN 2. He crouches and begins summoning an even greater, earthshaking power. The earth around him cracks under the pressure. GOKU (CONT'D) AHH!!! There is a BOOM of yellow energy, blowing out like a gust of wind. Zaru is unimpressed by the sight of this. By the sight of-SUPER SAIYAN 3. GOKU (CONT'D) I take great pride in this form. You should too, not many can stand against it. ZARU But your form is flawed. Mine is costless, self-improving, replacing the need to ascend. Your pride is misplaced. Goku assumes his fighting stance. of his own.
Zaru responds with one
The two fighters wait in silence. with a knife. And then--
You can cut the tension
Goku charges in, throwing the first punch. There is an earth-shaking concussion as the blow lands. Goku looks in surprise as Zaru caught the punch with great effort and is holding his fist in his hand. Zaru smiles in amusement. ZARU (CONT'D) Typical.
32. Goku is angered by this. He pulls back and then resumes with several more high-speed punches. But this is nothing new to Zaru who is easily avoiding the attack. Goku goes for a sweep kick, attempting to take Zaru off his feet. But Zaru anticipates this and escapes the sweep kick with a back flip. He does several more, creating a distance between them. But by the time he lands on his feet, Goku has circled around him with blazing speed, and is prepared to take him from behind. Zaru is seemingly off guard. Goku hits him with a kick to the back which sends him skidding on the ground. Goku races in for another attack. Zaru quickly looks back to Goku and fires a purple beam of energy from his eyes. Threatening to pierce Goku, he teleports out of the way, reappearing at Zaru's side. He sends Zaru grimacing with a blow to the face. But the blow isn't debilitating as Zaru responds with a blow to Goku's face. They begin to equally throw punches at lightning speed. Every blow that Goku lands, Zaru responds with, and vice versa. The two fighters are evenly matched. Both fighters lean in for a head-butt. The clash is able to disorientate them momentarily, they fall back. But Zaru is quick to recover. blast.
He growls as he fires a ki
GOKU Ah. The blast hits Goku and pushes him back. But Goku struggles against it and is able to whack it away. It ricochets onto the ground, exploding. Zaru continues to rapidly fire more with Goku hitting them away. One of the ki blast is sent ricocheting back at Zaru. guards as it strikes him, exploding.

Goku charges in. By the time Zaru drops his guard, Goku is in his face with a ki blast. It carries him away several miles before crashing and exploding onto the ground. Goku takes advantage of this opportunity. He dashes upward, creating a vast distance of space between he and Zaru. 37

34. GOHAN I've never seen dad fight like this before. That Zaru character is really pushing him to the limit. Vegeta continues his silence. to vex him further. 46

Zaru and Goku are locked in a brutal fight, rapidly trading heavy hits. They're both giving it their all. Their fist clash creating a powerful shockwave. GOKU You're amazing. You're everything I imagined and more. ZARU I know. Zaru summons his yellow aura again, charging. It begins to flow energetically. And then we see something unusual. A tinge of GREEN in his aura. It becomes more prominent overshadowing the yellow. His hair begins to shift from yellow to green also. And then he unleashes his power. Transforming into something new. SUPER SAIYAN GREEN. GOKU What? ZARU You said it yourself. How does it feel to see your theory in work? GOKU I'm impressed. Before I conceived the idea of Super Saiyan 3, I was trying to create variant forms. But the concept was too advanced for me. ZARU This variation is one of five. Each form possessing a special ability. Green is energy efficient, allowing me to use half the energy for the same results. Goku assumes a fighting stance.
He's in trouble now.
GOKU (V.O.) Super Saiyan 3 is too demanding to keep up with something like that. This isn't good.

The two fighters resume their brutal duel. But in his green variant form, Zaru is able to fight with twice the ferocity. Goku can't keep up with him. He is taking more blows than he can give. He needs an escape. He breaks away from the fight to fly away. This amuses Zaru to see his prey on the ropes. He pursues him with an even greater speed. Goku glances back to see Zaru gaining on him. GOKU Damn it. He puts two fingers to his forehead, preparing an Instant Transmission. But Zaru is upon him. He claps his hands together and strikes Goku down. Goku falls at supersonic speed, racing dangerously towards the earth like a meteorite. But he is too dazed to avoid his incoming fate. 50

The pebbles around him rise off the ground, upheld in the air by some invisible force. Electricity crackles around Vegeta. And in a SNAP of yellow energy, he transforms into SUPER SAIYAN 2. This gains attention from the others. TRUNKS Dad? VEGETA (V.O.) I, Vegeta am of royal blood. And by right, King of all Saiyans. GOHAN Get down! The saiyans duck for cover as Vegeta BLASTS off to the scene. 53

Zaru hovers above the crater. He lifts an arm to the sky. From his hand, we see ripples. They are weak but with each reverberation, becomes stronger until-REALITY ITSELF WARPS IN HIS HAND. A blue fiery sphere burns at the center. to the size of a Spirit Bomb. 54

An energy ball shoots into view. It heads straight for the Hyper Sphere. It SLAMS into it, causing Zaru's attack to rumble and then EXPLODE. Zaru takes notice. ZARU No! Vegeta does a flying kick to Zaru's face that sends him hurling away. 60

Goku turns to Vegeta as he materializes in the crater. GOKU I appreciate the help, but I have to do this alone. But Vegeta ignores him. GOKU (CONT'D) Are you even listening to me? VEGETA I should have said this a long time ago: kneel. GOKU What?
38. VEGETA Kneel! Kneel to your king! (holds out arm) Big Bang Attack! Vegeta fires a Big Bang Attack from his palm. is enough to shock some life into Goku.
The blast
He resists the blast, pushing against it. But Vegeta is strong. Goku skids back as the blast presses on. He has to do something. With much strain, he hurls the sphere upwards. into the sky.
It shoots
But Vegeta is ever the opportunist. He lands a heavy blow to Goku's stomach. This is powerful blow, knocking the breath out of Goku. Vegeta receives great pleasure from this. He turns, something catches his eye. Zaru is zooming towards them. his hand and then fires it.
He summons a ki blast in
Vegeta jumps back, separating from Goku. He misses the blast. Zaru lands and with the addition of him, we now have a triangle of fighters. ZARU Prince Vegeta. You have no place here, not yet. VEGETA King Vegeta. And you are a fool to address me as anything but. ZARU Very well, my king. VEGETA Wise choice. But your presence still offends me. Remedy it with subservience. Kneel. Zaru plants his feet firmly into the ground. preparing for something.

ZARU It seems you are the fool to think yourself master of those above you. Zaru begins charging his energy, causing the ground to jump. His green aura spikes. And then CLAP. Zaru has assumed another variation. SUPER SAIYAN VIOLET.
39. ZARU (CONT'D) This form optimizes my performance. And with the addition of Goku's fighting wisdom. How can you possibly hope to beat me? VEGETA (fighting stance) Three years of training will not be in vain. ZARU (fighting stance) Then this should be fun. Goku too assumes his fighting stance.
All three are ready.
Vegeta studies Zaru, and sees something. crawling down Zaru's face.
A tickle of sweat
VEGETA You're afraid. Good. Vegeta rushes in to Zaru. He remains on-guard, waiting for the moment to strike. But when he does, the punch is rendered futile as Vegeta seemingly fades away. It was an afterimage. He materializes behind Zaru. Zaru turns in shock and is hit with a blow to the face. He then lands a heavy blow to Zaru's stomach, his fist pressed deeply in. With his fist implanted in Zaru's stomach, he lifts him up into the air and then SLAMS him onto the ground. The earth cracks and caves in under Zaru. Vegeta is about to stamp on his face when-ZARU Solar Flare! Vegeta is stunned by rays of blinding light. Zaru flips up and performs a sweep kick, taking Vegeta off his feet. He is prepared to strike him down but-BLAM. Goku comes crashing down with a kick. Zaru narrowly avoids this and is put on the defensive. Goku throws a flurry of blows, none of which can match Zaru's heightened speed. In SLOW MOTION, Vegeta interjects himself between Goku and Zaru and disables them both with blows to the stomach. GOKU Ugh. ZARU Ah.
40. Vegeta grabs Goku by the throat with one hand, and Zaru by the throat with the other. And then, with monstrous strength, he lifts them and then CHOKE SLAMS them into the ground. The earth sinks and ripples beneath them. The shockwave expanding for miles. They flip up and all three fighters are now trading blows at lightning speed. They steadily rise into the air as they do. 61

Kibito Kai is more enthusiastic than he was before. KIBITO KAI Vegeta certainly is a lot stronger than before. I'd say he's surpassed even Majin Buu. OLD KAI Yes, but his fight is against his limitations. KIBITO KAI Hopefully, he can destroy Zaru. OLD KAI They would have already if they worked together. But their pride won't allow it. 62

Old Kai's insight on Vegeta is becoming increasingly apparent. He is struggling. This is made even worse as he is positioned right between Goku and Zaru. Vegeta is taking a lot more hits than both of them combined. Eventually a kick from Goku ejects him from the conflict. He is sent spiraling to the ground. 63

VEGETA No, I will not be forgotten. He picks himself up, clutching his shoulder in pain. He is bloody and bruised. And yet not deterred one bit. His eyes are fixed on the duel. They move fast, darting left and right, tracking their movements. 64
EXT. SKY - DAY Zaru is dominating the fight. His superior speed and strength is too much for Goku, who is being pushed back. Zaru head-butts Goku.

41. Goku is guarding, but arms, weak and shaky begin to lower. He pants in exhaustion. Zaru smiles.
He holds out his hand, charging a blast--
Vegeta resurfaces with an uppercut to Zaru. This stuns him quite a bit. Enough for Vegeta to take advantage with a sequence of attacks. He hits him once, twice, five times, ten times. A fifteen plus combo. He is demolishing Zaru. And then for the climax. He puts his hands together and charges. VEGETA Final Flash! He lets loose a powerful wave of energy which consumes Zaru and sends him flying. The explosion is like an atomic bomb. With Zaru out of the way. Vegeta turns his attention to Goku who is almost limp. We CLOSE UP on Vegeta's mouth as it twist into a smile. 65
EXT. DESERT CANYON - DAY Zaru picks himself up, ravaged and bruised.

It's time for another variation. He groans under the tension. His violet ki charges and blazes forth. He lets his rage loose in an explosion of light. SUPER SAIYAN ORANGE. CUT TO: 66
EXT. DESERT CANYON - DAY Vegeta holds Goku's face in the ground as he flies at supersonic speed. He laughs like a madman as Goku's face scrapes a trail through the earth. He rises higher, spinning. He hurls Goku into a canyon. Goku crashes directly through the canyon. But Vegeta doesn't let up. His fiery aura covers him as he kicks Goku back and forth, left and right, in the air like pin ball. And then, he puts both fists together and SLAMS him into the earth. The ground erupts with energy. He lands before him. Holding his hand out, ready to blast him. Finally. Victory.
VEGETA After all these years.

42. ZARU (O.S.) King Vegeta! He turns to see Zaru flying towards him.
He lands.
ZARU (CONT'D) I was created to defeat Goku. Victory belongs to me. VEGETA Victory belongs to the last man standing. Another form? I'm curious as to what they are. ZARU I call them variants, conceived by Goku during his time in Other World. He learnt that the Super Saiyan was but a superficial form. That there was a microcosm within, yielding a host of new transformations. VEGETA Energetic reactions. ZARU Exactly, this one is called ki transmogrification. VEGETA Transmogrification? ZARU It allows me to change my ki to match that of any being in the universe. The result is increased empathy, granting me access to that person's fighting style and techniques. VEGETA At least you recognize my superiority. ZARU I recognize a yearning. You want to know how Goku became a Super Saiyan 3 but you would never ask. I know how he did it. Go ahead, ask. 67
EXT. CANYON - DAY Gohan is completely immersed in the fight, oblivious to Goten and Trunks. Trunks sneakily pulls Goten away to the side. He starts doing his stretches.

43. TRUNKS I'm wondering what our parents are gonna buy us after this. GOTEN We said we'd be good. TRUNKS Well I lied. GOTEN Trunks. TRUNKS Relax, it won't matter when we beat Zaru. GOTEN Makes sense. The boys jump into position, fixing their stances. begin the Fusion dance. TRUNKS Fu...sion...ha!

Goten and Trunks come together in a flash of white light. It catches Gohan's attention. GOHAN No. A single form is seen in the light. It grows more clear as the light regresses. SUPER GOTENKS. Cool as hell. GOHAN (CONT'D) What Vegeta did doesn't make it okay. GOTENKS I don't have to listen to you. GOHAN Why are you doing this?

44. ZARU Because you're my friend. I feel your emotions, your desires and your pain. It seems there is a part of me that acknowledges your kingship. VEGETA Then as your king, I demand answers. Zaru places a hand on Vegeta's head. Vegeta's eyes suddenly blacken and exhibit a blank expression. ZARU I am transmitting to you telepathically, everything you need to know. VEGETA Yes. ZARU Your victory is a guarantee. That is if you survive the destruction of this world. For Earth can not hold me for long. As this happens, Goku is coming to consciousness. He is still weak, however. He digs under his gi belt, searching for something. A senzu bean. He chews on it and swallows. Vegeta continues on in his trance-like state. providing him with knowledge.
Zaru
Goku charges in with a spinning kick to the face, knocking Zaru back. He quickly turns with a kick also for an unsuspecting Vegeta. He becomes fully aware once he hits the floor. in frustration.

The black smoke begins to fade away revealing-A YELLOW DOME OF ENERGY. A force field, erected by Zaru. It shielded them from the attack, much to Gotenks annoyance.

But he's not finished. He closes his eyes and puts his hands together, performing a hand sign. It looks meditative. A blue, transparent sphere of energy encapsulates him. We see his aura. It burns wildly but is steadily becoming calm. Gotenks himself looks peaceful. The saiyans look on, bemused. before. The sphere begins to dissolve.

Goku and Zaru part, allowing Vegeta to blast him. The attack proves itself a dud. The smoke clears, revealing Gotenks unscathed. He smiles, overconfident. Gotenks teleports with lightning speed, taking Zaru out with a kick. He does so again, taking Goku out with another kick. And then he teleports to Vegeta, head-butting him back. He lands several more blows on Vegeta and then sends him flying back down to the desert canyon with an invisible ki blast. Zaru and Goku circle back, preparing to attack from either side. But Gotenks simply blocks both fighters with his forearms. They draw back, cupping their hands. GOKU Kamehameha! ZARU Galick Gun! But even this won't cut it. Gotenks effortlessly holds back the blasts with each hand. GOTENKS Ha! He retorts with his own blast, that sends them both flying. 72

EXT. SKY - DAY The sky erupts with shockwaves as the saiyans engage in a free-for-all. They are all fighting for an opportunity at Zaru. Gohan bores through the competition. Zaru, in fear, tries to blast him with an attack. But Gohan teleports away from the oncoming blast, appearing at Zaru's side. He debilitates him with a kick, and then rocks him with more hits. GOTENKS (O.S.) Coming through. Gotenks interjects into the fight. Zaru cannot stand against these two fighters. They both bombard him with hits. He is able to dodge the flurry, allowing Gotenks and Gohan to connect with each other instead.

51. He is able catch his breath as Gohan and Gotenks are preoccupied fighting each other. He holds out his arm. ZARU Big Bang Attack! He opens fire on the two, catching them by surprise. BLAM. Vegeta catches Zaru with a kick to the face. goes for a punch but Zaru thinks fast.

As the punch comes his way, he moves swiftly, grabbing Vegeta by the arm and swinging at an incoming Goku. This has the desired effect as Goku and Vegeta are now trading blows. Zaru beholds the sight of this. fighting for the chance at him.

ZARU (CONT'D) I'm outnumbered and outmatched. I hoped against it but my next form is becoming a necessity. His aura lights up, blazing furiously. Zaru groans under the pressure. It builds within him. He let's it go in a shockwave of energy. The saiyans have ceased their fighting and observe the transformation. SUPER SAIYAN PINK. Zaru sifts through his gi and plucks a senzu bean. He crunches on it and swallows. Almost instantly, his wounds are healed. And his energy restored. He looks fresh. Gohan wastes no time. He charges in, throwing punches but is unable to land a single one. Zaru is graceful as he dodges. This is child's play. ZARU (CONT'D) This variant amplifies my psychic powers a thousand fold, endowing me with cosmic powers. Gohan continues his assault, but is frustrated by his inability to land a blow. ZARU (CONT'D) I'm in tune with the vibrations of the universe. I can spot your attacks a mile off. He punches Gohan directly in the heart. It immobilizes him as a shockwave pulses through his body. His hair suddenly shifts from black to yellow. Gohan has reverted back to a Super Saiyan.

And then sends Buu hurtling with a punch. He follows in pursuit, unleashing a string of hits. Buu is helpless before his might. He grabs him by his antenna and begins to swing around in a circle. He lets go, sending Buu crashing to the ground. He struggles to his feet as Zaru lands before him. ZARU You want to know what this form does? It grants perfect synergy between body and spirit. It ties me to Other World, allowing to me to draw on its essence. Zaru holds out his hand as something begins to warp in it. Spirit matter. It is an intangible substance, silvery and metallic. Shapeless. It hovers above his hand. ZARU (CONT'D) I call it spirit manipulation. The power of creation. Be it a planet, or an entire dimension. Or my personal favorite. THE MATTER STRETCHES AS IT MORPHS INTO A SWORD. He swings the sword at Buu, shooting out a blade of energy. Buu jumps into the air. He looks as the energy curves and slices a building in half. It crashes to the ground. Zaru rises into the air, throwing several more energy blades at Buu. He dodges, fading left and right, up and down. Zaru aims his sword at Buu. It morphs into a WHIP. The whip is almost alive in its pursuit, slivering as it hunts Buu. It grabs hold of his foot, wrapping around it. MAJIN BUU Huh. Zaru tugs on the whip and pulls Buu back. Hitting him with a close-line. He strangles him. Buu struggles against him but cannot break his grip. ZARU I expected as much. You love these people. I do not. They are but weak, fragile things.
62. He flies down, with Buu in hand, and SLAMS him on the ground. ZARU (CONT'D) Your metamorphosis is stimulated by trauma. Good. You can watch them die. Zaru releases his grip, allowing Buu to struggle to his knees. But something is happening. A giant shadow is growing over Buu. looks up.

ZARU IS GROWING INTO A GIANT. We look down on Buu. He grows smaller and smaller as Zaru towers over him. He is the size of a building. Buu stands his ground. He holds out his hand and generates four globs of spirit matter. They morph into monstrous looking things, dragonlike spirits. ZARU (CONT'D) Raze this city. The four beast fly from his hand, heading towards the civilians in the distance. MAJIN BUU Stop it! Buu flies to pursue them but-WHACK. Zaru moves with lightning instinct, slapping Buu to the ground. He STAMPS him into the ground, grinding Buu beneath his feet. Buu is pissed. He shoots up and punches Zaru in the face. The blow, however, only slightly inconveniences him. He grabs Buu, trapping him in his hand. Zaru begins to electrocute Buu with energy. immense pain. Buu is seething. That's it.

I can't. ZARU And why's that? MAJIN BUU Because Buu is afraid.

The civilians are running for their lives as the four spirits terrorize them, creating chaos. Buu flies to the scene and opens fire on them with his antenna. They growl in pain as the blast vaporizes them. He lowers to the ground and stands before the people. BYSTANDER #2 Thank you, Buu. You saved us. But Buu's eye begins to twitch. MAJIN BUU Aaaah! He keels over in pain, clutching his head. Get out!

ZARU (V.O.) You let me in. Buu begins to raise his hand to the civilians. He fights against it, against Zaru's control. A ki blast is slowing forming in his hand. The bystanders shiver in fear. ZARU (V.O.) (CONT'D) You try to live like them. But you are not one of them. You are a monster. And you will give it to me.

The heroes teleport to the city. This is the aftermath of the battle. It is basically ground zero. The city is ruined and many dead. It is a grave moment for the heroes. Goku lowers his head. The guilt weighing on his conscience. He looks at the potara earring in his hand. GOKU Without the dragon balls, we can't undo the damage. This is the tipping point. VEGETA And these earrings, the objects of our salvation. Kibito Kai scans the area. He spots a piece of Buu. It is lifeless. He uses his telekinesis, causing the fragment to float to his hand. KIBITO KAI Buu sacrificed himself to protect this city. He begins to heal it. The piece begins to wiggling. It glows pink. We see the other pieces, scattered about, also begin to glow pink. The piece jumps out of Kibito Kai's hand and summons the others. They fly together, assembling into Buu. MAJIN BUU What happened? It's okay.

Piccolo and Zaru fight above the Lookout. Zaru leans in with a head-butt, sending Piccolo grimacing back. He retorts with an Eye Flash. His eyes glow with energy and then FLASH Zaru with rays of light, blinding him. This creates an opening. Piccolo grabs Zaru by the face. His arm stretches at high speed. It slivers through the air as it descends to the Lookout. 125

Zaru is SLAMMED through the surface. He is being pushed through miles of concrete until crashing out the Lookout's underside. But Piccolo doesn't let up. His arm continues stretching, doing a u-turn, pushing Zaru back up the underside. He ERUPTS through the surface. Piccolo continues to weave his arm through the Lookout's structure. Several times, Zaru is slammed in and out the Lookout. Piccolo's arm has pretty much enveloped the entire structure. It is torn apart. Zaru lies in the rubble. The hand, still clamped on his face begins to retract at super-speed. It rises into the air.

Piccolo throws Zaru, sending him hurtling away as his arm returns to normal length. He begins fires multiple blasts of energy at Zaru. Zaru is able to stop himself mid-air. And then he realizes--

A multitude of energy balls hover about him. nowhere to go.

Piccolo brings his arms together in a gesture. PICCOLO Hellzone Grenade! At once, the energy balls all SMASH into Zaru, creating a powerful explosion. But as the smoke fades.

ZARU Why would a martial arts genius make allies of sleight and tricks? He teleports in an instant. Piccolo looks about, nothing. Zaru appears above him and strikes him down to the Lookout. 127

69. Piccolo pants as he makes it to his feet. He puts his hands together, his vision blurry. A light forms. Zaru remains frozen, immobile, and vulnerable. PICCOLO Light Grenade! Piccolo fires the blast at Zaru. It hits him in the chest, and expands to great size. It's a truly devastating attack. The attack diminishes revealing the attack actually injured Zaru. He is in pain, and shock. Piccolo is completely exhausted and on the verge of collapsing. Zaru holds out his hand and blasts him off the Lookout. He shoots away like a star. 128
EXT. HERCULE CITY - DAY The heroes stand before Vegito. OLD KAI Are you ready? VEGITO I am. OLD KAI Your mission is to defeat Zaru, not destroy. Kibito Kai will take care of the rest. KIBITO KAI Sir, is that strategy still necessary? OLD KAI The strategy may have changed, but the outcome remains constant. KIBITO KAI Why? OLD KAI That is strictly a Supreme Kai concern. TRUNKS Do we get to fight too? OLD KAI You will serve as support, alongside I and Kibito Kai.

KIBITO KAI (CONT'D) I'm giving you a mental map of the area, of every planet, star and celestial body. And remember, space is a vacuum. Your ki can sustain you. Try and find it? Vegito closes his eyes in concentration. VEGITO I feel it. The area itself is ablaze with energy. KIBITO KAI That's the ki of The Creator. If you do get lost, anchor on to my signature. VEGITO Just one more thing. KIBITO KAI What's that? Vegito socks Kibito Kai in the face, knocking him to the ground. VEGITO (laughing) Sorry, but I've been dying to know. OLD KAI What are you doing? Now is not the time for cockiness. Kibito Kai wipes the blood from his nose.

71. The rocks levitate as their auras rage about them. Vegito throws a blow but Kibito Kai evades and retorts with an uppercut, knocking Vegito onto the ground. He stands over Vegito, and then holds out his hand. Vegito grabs it and is pulled up. The respect is mutual between these two warriors. KIBITO KAI (CONT'D) You have my trust. VEGITO Thank you. Kibito Kai looks to Old Kai. OLD KAI Yes, alright. Mine too. our faith in you Vegito. let's go.

Even from the space, the light can be seen. It shines from the ice planet, growing until it ENVELOPS THE ENTIRE PLANET. We pull back further, revealing a sequence of planets, a hundred thousand miles apart. The light expands and reaches even them too, bathing them in light.

VEGITO. SUPER SAIYAN 3. He is surrounded by light. We take a moment to admire him as the light recedes. He shoots Zaru a look. It's his move now.
ZARU I see you inherited Goku's stubbornness. VEGITO And his wit. All your cards are on the table. ZARU Not quite. There is a sixth transformation made known to me by fusion. Behold. Zaru begins to charge his ki. The silver aura now burns RED. His silver hair fades black, it straightens, spiky as it extends below the shoulders. Red streaks bleed into his hair, mixing with the black. The force he generates is tremendous. his gi top, revealing his bare-chest. anticipation.
It disintegrates Vegito waits on in
ZARU EXPLODES WITH ENERGY AS HE UNVEILS HIS NEW FORM. We see markings engraved over his body and face. They are tribal-like, symbolic, glowing a bright red. There is a mystical feel to this form, also demonic. ZARU (CONT'D) Super Saiyan Nul. It's a stand off now.

Zaru teleports in and lands a blow in Vegito's face, pushing him back. He throws another blow but is blocked, creating an opening for Vegito to strike him in the chest. The strength of the blow creates A POWERFUL SHOCKWAVE. Zaru retreats in pain. That's some power Vegito's packing. Zaru eyes him. If looks could kill. Vegito smiles. Zaru dashes in for a second try. The two warriors fight evenly, rapidly trading blows. Zaru lands a heavy hit in the face. Vegito responds with a heavy hit to the gut. They continue fighting at super speed. He grabs Vegito by the tip of his hair and swings him around, letting him go at incredible speed. His aura blazes as he pursues Vegito. Vegito is still stunned, unable to see and oncoming Zaru. But Zaru is quick to respond with a energy blast. It looms towards Vegito. He fires a ki blast of his own. The blast collide and explode. 144

The crack in the planet suddenly lights up with energy before it explodes. Zaru materializes in the distance, beholding the destruction. But his victory is cut short as Vegito comes blazing out of the explosion. His clothes are torn. Zaru seeing this, takes off at high-speed. The two of them fly through the depths of space into a star system. 145
INT. STAR SYSTEM - NIGHT Zaru needs to shake Vegito. ki blast.

Vegito quickly evades it and glances back as it races past him. It hits a nearby planet, causing it to light up and explode. Zaru fires another blast which Vegito whacks away before continuing his pursuit. He lands a heavy blow to Zaru's face. Zaru retorts with a blow to the stomach. The fighters continue to trade heavy blows. Their auras ignite as they take off again. They fly into space, CLASHING, RICOCHETING AND CLASHING AGAIN CONTINUOUSLY. Light explodes off them like fireworks. Vegito blitzes Zaru, carrying him to an asteroid orbiting the sun. 146

We zoom quickly past a series of planets as we jump into light-speed, soaring through streams of light. The universe is racing past us. This is where the fighters materialize, they resume trading blows at lightning speed while flying simultaneously. Vegito ejects Zaru from the light-stream with a kick. He shakes the hit off. But Vegito teleports before him and drives a heavy fist to his stomach. Zaru heaves in pain. ZARU Ugh. He is sent flying with a kick to the head. Zaru growls, halting his flight. He zooms back in. This time he teleports continuously around Vegito. Trying to confuse him. But Vegito closes his eyes and smiles.

78. He holds out his arm and then-Zaru gasps. A golden energy blade has just pierced his chest. This is Vegito's Spirit Sword. Zaru can't believe it. Zaru clasps the blade and pushes himself back. He groans in pain as he slides away from the blade, freeing himself. There is a huge gash in his chest from where the blade was. Zaru growls as the wound begins to heal, knitting itself back up. Vegito lunges forward to impale him again but Zaru clasps both hands on the sword. He wrestles it down. Once he pushes it to the side, he dashes in and lands a blow to Vegito's face. The Spirit Sword fades away as Vegito is taken back. Zaru shoots upwards, creating distance. He puts his hands together. And begins charging the Kamehameha wave, only the energy that generates, is red. Vegito sees and too begins to charge a Kamehameha. ZARU (CONT'D) Nega Kamehameha! He fires the beam, it thunders down to Vegito who waits for it to approach. VEGITO Haaa! He too unleashes his attack. clashing in the middle.
Both beams race to each other,
This is an intense beam struggle. Both beams pushing against each other. Both fighters strain under the pressure. But something is happening. Vegito can't explain it. His attack seems to be losing power. Zaru smiles at this. We see that Zaru's beam is able to push further and further down. He is gaining the advantage over Vegito. Vegito is struggling. KIBITO KAI (V.O.) Vegito. VEGITO (V.O.) What's happening? KIBITO KAI (V.O.) Zaru's energy is neutralizing yours. You cannot let that blast hit you. Vegito's attack grows slimmer and slimmer.
79. ZARU Haa! Zaru's beam suddenly explodes into a new more powerful and violent beam of energy. It races down. Vegito's beam cannot resist it. It dissipates leaving Vegito vulnerable. He is hit by the attack. Zaru is blinded by the light of the explosion. It fades. Zaru scans the area. Vegito is nowhere to be seen. CUT TO: 153

He looks to the sky which is being filled by the moon. He holds out his hand and generates a white light, it is heavenly, dancing in his hand. He aims it at the moon. KIBITO KAI Divine Cannon! The blast explodes from his hand, rushing towards the moon. It begins to crack and burn until it explodes. BALLS OF FIRE SHOOT FROM THE SKY. Kibito Kai picks up Vegito, carrying him in his arms. teleports.

They reappear before Old Kai and the saiyans, who rush to Vegito's aid. GOTENKS Daddy! GOHAN Careful. Vegito is placed gently on the ground. Kibito Kai hovers his hands over him and begins to heal Vegito. KIBITO KAI His body needs time to fight off the effects of Nega Energy. VEGITO (awakening) I tried. He's all yours... The trio look to Old Kai, waiting for his decision. OLD KAI Kneel. Kibito Kai approaches him. He unsheathes his sword and plants it into the ground. His knees bend as he kneels before his master, lowering his head. OLD KAI (CONT'D) Kibito Kai, I hereby restore to you this day, the mantle of Supreme Kai. And, I give you a new name, the name that belonged to the Grand Supreme Kai of my time: Theos Xiphos The Sword of God. Old Kai holds out his hand. Kibito Kai's body begins to sparkle as AMOUR MATERIALIZES OVER HIM. It is the armor of a knight. Black and gold, with a red cape. There is an aura of royalty about it. OLD KAI (CONT'D) The sword, the armor, it belonged to him. They are invincible. We close up on Kibito Kai's stern face as the helmet covers it. OLD KAI (CONT'D) You are the light of the universe. Kibito Kai takes hold of the swords hilt, his gauntlet wrapping around it. The sword burns red hot, and then ignites with white flames.

He takes another swipe, the sword's tip catching Zaru under the eye. Blood tickles down from the cut. He wipes at it. ZARU I'm going to enjoy this. KIBITO KAI Trust me, you won't. Kibito Kai plants his sword into the surface, maintaining his grip. The white fire begins crawl over his body, enveloping him. KIBITO KAI (CONT'D) Omega Breaker. THE SWORD EXPLODES WITH RAYS OF LIGHT. DIRECTIONS.

Kibito Kai screams and unleashes this newfound power. Zaru is transfixed at the sight of this. We see that his armor, his entire being is now a heavenly white. The Omega Breaker form increases his strength tenfold. He pulls out his sword. Zaru summons his anger and holds out his arm. energy extends from it.

They run at each other, swinging their blades. They clash. The two fighters are now engaged in a sword fight. Zaru is defending more than he is attacking. Kibito Kai is simply overpowering him. Kibito Kai brings his sword down but the attack is blocked. Zaru struggles to hold it off. But he manages to push it off, creating an opening. He attempts to stab Kibito Kai in the chest. But his energy blade shatters upon contact with the armor. He is elbowed in the face and sent to the ground. He quickly gets up and charges in, landing a blow to the face. But nothing. Kibito Kai is unaffected. Zaru goes for several more attacks but again, nothing. Kibito Kai remains fixed, immovable, invincible. Zaru goes in for a headbutt which makes him recoil in back in pain. Kibito Kai then backhands him across the face, sending him to the ground. He is pissed. He charges back in but he is caught by the face and slammed into the ground. Kibito Kai holds his head into the ground. We hear Zaru's muffled groans. Red energy shine from under Kibito's Kai's hand gauntlet. The explosion forces his hand open and pushes him back.
