lnstruments R&D Establishment (IRDE), Dehra Dun is a premier laboratory of the Defence R&D Organisation (DRDO) engaged in the Research and Development of advanced technologies in the areas of optics, opto electronics, and photonics to enhance the defence capabilities of the nation. IRDE invites applications from highly motivated candidates (Indian citizens) with excellent academic background to work as Junior Research Fellows for a period of two years (extendable as per rules). They will work in some of the collaborative projects with llT Kanpur, llT Madras, llT Delhi and llSc, Bangalore in the frontier areas of Micro-optics and Nanophotonics including Photonic Crystals, Metamaterials, Silicon Photonics, Micro-optics fabrication and development of high performance computational imaging systems. IRDE has well equipped laboratories and state of the art fabrication facilities including UV lithography and Class 100 & 10000 clean rooms. The Research Fellows will be enco~raged to pursue PhD in some of the above mentioned frontier areas in Photonics and will have the opportunity to interact with some of the leading researchers in the country associated with these collaborative projects. Number of Vacancies Qualification

05 (Five) (Vacancies may increase or decrease) Graduate degree in professional course (B.E/B.Tech.) in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Mechanical Engg./Electrical Engg. in first division with NET/GATE. OR Post graduate degree in professional course. (M.E./M.Tech) in the above field in first division both at Graduate and Post graduate level. Interest in research for pursuing PhD. Maximum 28 years on the last date of receipt of application (5 years relaxation to SC/ST and 3 years to OBC candidates). Stipend Rs. 25000/· per month with House Rent Allowance (if accommodation is not provided) and Medical facilities (will be provided by M.I. Room of the Establishment).
