It is important to know the area of the window because you do not need to paint over the windows as then there is no point of the windows. Also you can save paint by not calculating the windows I calculated the area of the floor or wall panel and then I divided the area by 400 b/c 1 gallon covers 400 sq ft. then I multiplied the quotient by the price of the paint or carpet to find the price

My Dream House Floor Plan:
Describing My Dream House: I put most of the bathrooms inside a bedroom because it would be simpler than going outside in the hallways to go to the bathroom to take a shower/bath or to use the bathroom. Also I placed a bathroom right outside of my party room so you can use it without going far.
Reflection/Conclusion: First I had to think of the plan itself. Do I want a bigger house or a smaller one? How many rooms etcetera Then I had to change my wall rooms into rooms After that I had to think about the paint, the surface area ( all the math) Lastly we had to write up the document. The most challenging part was changing the wall rooms to actual rooms. This was because I used walls for very irregular shapes the are hard to make. This had me end up cutting and remodel half of the house which took a whole day with 1 room left I enjoyed the freedom of choice. This was because we can add furniture and many things. Also we get to pick the shape of our house, the rooms, etcetera I would recommend this project to future 6th graders because I feel that this can spark a lot of creativity making math more fun than a normal lesson. I feel that we could possibly add more time for the project as many can have great ideas. Also I would recommend more instructions stating about the use of walls. This is because walls can waste a lot of time (as stated above in question 3) overall I would recommend it to the future 6th graders

My inspirations is that me and my pets live in this house, so I want a modern, open air concept to make it feel like city living, but in a house. Also, I always loved high ceilings, so that is why I raised my ceilings to be 12’5”. The people that live in my house are me and my dog and cat. I prefer to live this way because I would like to live with myself in the future also in the future I would like to have one dog and one cat.

My Dream House Floor Plan:
Describing My Dream House: I designed my house to be for one person with a guest. I wanted to keep it open, so when you walk in there is a large atrium leading to the living room. All shared rooms have archways instead of doors to make the space seem more open. My master bedroom is where it is because. I wanted more space in front. All rooms that can have windows. I wanted the house to seem cheerful and fun. My dog is in the dog house out front and my cat lives in my bedroom. I am most proud of my guest bedroom because it is fully decorated with a nice bed, closet, paintings, and a chair with for rest.
Reflection/Conclusion: 1.
First, I created a blueprint of my dreamhouse using the home design app. Then, I decorated the
house, creating the differences between each room. Finally, I calculated the area of each room and the amount of paint I would need to paint the house. 2.
The part of the project that was the most challenging was the part when I calculated the area of each
room because it was hard to calculate the area of irregular shapes. 3.
The part of the project I enjoyed the most was designing, creating, and decorating my dream house.
I enjoyed this part the most because it was really fun to place all the objects and creating all the different rooms without boundaries. 4.
I would definitely recommend this for future 6th graders because it is a fun way to express creativity
while incorporating math.

e did not paint the window/s and the door/s because the door/s and the window/s will not be W transparent, so you have to subtract the area of the window/s and door/s to get the area painted for the walls. My favorite paint company is Behr (Home Depot) and found the colors (White,Blue) for each of the rooms and looked for the price of paint per gallon and how much square feet the paint can cover.

My Dream House Floor Plan:
Describing My Dream House I put each room where it is because I want the house to look organized and nice, so it could be the Nicest House on the block.
Reflection/Conclusion: I first have to design and complete your house on Home Design and save it on showbie. Second, I had to make a introduction for the purpose of the house, and who will live in my home. Third, I find the Dreamhouse measurements of each room and find the area of the room. Fourth, I find the calculations of the carpet (if you have) and walls, then choose your favorite paint company to paint the walls ( I subtracted the area of the windows and doors). Fifth, I find the volume of the cabinet/storage by using the formula for a rectangular prism which is l*w*h. Sixth, I take three screenshots, one for my house in 3D and 2D and take a screenshot of my favorite room. Finally, I answer the questions in the reflection/conclusion and delete all the red words. The most challenging part is calculating the area of each room because you have to get the precise measurements and math skills like subtraction, addition and multiplication and at the right time. My favorite part of the project is making the house because it’s fun and you kind of learn what a good house design looks and to play around and explore the app like because maybe one day someone in our class will become an architect or real-estate manager. Yes, I do recommend this project for future sixth graders because it’s a fun experience and on how to show and practice math skills learned in math class by Ms.Li, while having fun learning to design homes.

It is important to know the area of the windows because you need to subtract that from the area of the walls. You do this so you don't have extra paint that would cover the windows if you didn't subtract.
To find the cost of the paint for the walls, we found the area of the walls then multiplied it by 8 to find the height of the walls. Then I found the area of the windows and doors and subtracted that from the wall total. Finally we divides that answer by 400, rounded that answer up and multiplied it by the paint cost.

My Dream House:
Describing My Dream House: To make my dream house I thought of a regular house. I asked myself would it make sense to put a room where I put it? And if it doesn't I rearranged the rooms until I got what “made sense” or what you would look for if you were buying a realistic house.
Reflection/Conclusion: During this project I had to go through multiple steps, I had to figure out where I wanted to put the rooms, what size they would be and I had to figure out the size and cost of everything. I think the hardest part of this proses was where to place objects and rooms and seeing if they would fit together because sometimes you had to start . The part I most enjoyed in this project was decorating the house. It was pretty fun because we could do anything we wanted and use our imaginations as long as it makes sense with the house. I definitely recommend this project to future 6th graders because it is both fun and educational.

It’s important to know the area of the window and doors with regards to the amount of paint needed to paint the walls because when you’re painting the walls, you can’t paint the windows and doors so you have to subtract the area of the wall to the area of the window to know how much paint you need to paint the wall instead of painting the windows and doors too.
I ’ve used the area of the walls, the area of the windows, the area of the doors, and how much one gallon of paint would cost to calculate the cost of painting the walls and/or carpeting the floors

Describing My Dream House: I put each room where it is so that my house is organized and neat and I want it to look good.
Reflection/Conclusion: 1. First, we need to design our dream house. Second, we need to work on our introduction. Third, we need to find the dimensions of the rooms inside my house. Then, we need to find the cost of painting the walls and carpeting the floor. After that, we need to find the volume of objects in your house. Finally, we need to work on our reflection. 2. I don’t think anything was challenging. 3. I enjoyed designing my dream house the most because it makes me feel happy that I can design a house of my dreams. 4. I would recommend this project for future sixth graders because it’s a very fun and easy project.

You need to know the area of the windows when painting the walls of a room because if you painted the windows, unless they the paint was see-through the windows would become obsolete. When calculating the cost of the paint for the walls I found the perimeter of the room and multiplied it by the height and subtracted the areas of the windows and doors.

Describing My Dream House: I made my house so every room connects to the bathroom in some way, because it is important to go to the bathroom. Also I wanted to put the gym next to the living room so you could go from working out to relaxing and from hanging out in the living room to sleeping or reading or even playing the piano in by bedroom.
Reflection/Conclusion: 1.
I created all of my rooms then decorated then and then did all the necessary calculations
and typed them up. 2.
The most challenging part of this project was finding the area of the pentagonal rooms. It was
difficult for me because I did not know how to find the area of a pentagon so I had to create my own formula/algorithm. 3.
I enjoyed decorating my house in a way that reflects my personality. I enjoyed this because I
could do all sorts of things that were interesting and creative. 4. I completely recommend this project for future 6th graders because it required a lot of creativity
and gave you a real understanding of geometry.

It’s important to know the area of the window(s) and door(s) because if you don’t, you might buy extra paint and you don’t need that extra paint! To find the cost of the paint, I first calculated the area of the whole wall(s) and the area of the door(s) and window(s). Then, I subtracted the area of the door(s) and window(s) from the area of the whole wall(s). Next, I divided the difference by 400 ft and rounded it to the nearest whole number (remember: always round up). Lastly, I multiplied the quotient by $33.98. To sum up, that is how I found the cost of the paint. Cabinet/Storage Volume: Storage Unit Bookcase

Describing My Dream House: When you enter the front door, there are 2 coat racks. Hang your coat. When you walk forward, there are 3 ways you can go. If you turn left there is a living room. When you go inside, there is a TV you can watch and a fireplace you can warm up on. There is also a storage closet (with a small bathroom) that has random things in it and there is a ping-pong table you can play with. Additionally, there is one more room in the living room. It is my master bedroom. Inside, there is a bed, a desk, a vanity table, a walk-in-closet, a TV, some rugs, and some couches. There is also a personal bathroom for myself. When you go back to the entrance hall (the room when you first enter the house), and turn right, you enter the kitchen. It’s a normal kitchen. In the kitchen, there is a doorway to the dining room. The dining room has ceiling-to-floor windows and has a table for 6. There is a door in the dining room that leads you to a glass room where you can chill. There is a door that leads you to the backyard, but we’ll go there later. Back to the entrance hall! When you go straight, you go to the backyard. There are many things in the yard. There is a treehouse, a hot tub, a pool, a trampoline, a hammock, a tire swing, a mini playground, a fire pit, a BBQ grill, a picnic table, a fountain, a lot of plants, trees, a doghouse, chairs, tables, big umbrellas, and some lounge chairs. If you need to throw a HUGE party, this is the design for you! Reflection/Conclusion: I liked this project. It was fun and complicated. I had to design the house, do math, and type to complete this project. I think building the actual house was most challenging because I had limited time and I wanted to make everything look nice. I enjoyed designing the house because I like to get creative when doing this. I would recommend this project to future 6th graders because I think this is a good and creative project, but related to math at the same time.

It is very important to know the area of the window before you but the amount needed to
paint the walls because, if a person only calculate the amount of paint needed to paint the wall counting the window then, that person will have brought more paint than they need and that is just a waste of money and paint. They could also in rare cases paint on the window and have a bigger problem than paint.
In order to calculate the cost to paint an wall or carpet the floor, we need to know the length
and width of an object or the base and height. The cost to paint an wall or carpet the floor is like finding the area of the floor or wall and the formula for that is l x w. Cabinet/Storage Volume:

Describing My Dream House:
There are a lot of reasons why my dream house looks the way it is. For an example let’s refer to the fact that all the bedrooms are all in one place, that’s because that I am scared that there are like some imaginary monsters in this vast room of mine, they have so many places to hide! I would feel safer if my family and friends are near me. The dining room is near the kitchen so that the food is easier to serve. The dog room is near the kitchen; if I forgot to feed the dog, then when I serve the food and look at the dog room I will remember to serve the dog, too. The hot tub room is near the bathroom because, if you just got out of the tub it will feel freezing in the room, if you rush to the bathroom and take a hot shower it won’t be cold.My office is near the kitchen for the reason that I am always hungry and with the kitchen nearby … my problem is solved. Now you know the reason my “perfect” house is the way it is.
Reflection/Conclusion:
The first thing we did in this really fun and mathy project is to get to know the app. Then, we started thinking of ideas for our dream house and designing it. Later, we figure out the land size and what are the rooms in our dream house. We then do the “ mathy”part of the project by filling in the area of each room, how much paint we need, how much carpeting we need, and we figure out the cost of the paint and carpeting. We also figure out the volume of 3 storage unit in the house. Now we try to make our house look as nice as possible. Finally, we put our finish touches on this project and the project is due.
I think that the most challenging part of this project is when we had to put the calculation process in. Sometimes it is easier to do the math than explaining it. I also think that area of some of the rooms were hard to find, the rooms that were oddly shaped was the hardest one to find. We had to calculate that part of the room and then that part, it just gets me confused. The part of the project I enjoyed the most was designing my dream house because, you get to make it as big and as nice as you can without worrying that we will have to pay it. It is also fun to think a little extra about your future because boy will it come fast. This is the funnest project yet and I wish it was a little bit longer so, we can make our dream house as perfect as possible. Boy am I happy that in this project we don’t have to actually build the house!
I recommend this project to the future 6th graders because, it is an fun mathy project that you can’t forget soon! As a I learned from my mistakes, I would encourage them to use their time wisely and try to have as much time as possible to do the project by stay up from recess or staying after school. I would also encourage them to not use super hard to identify the area shapes as their room shape unless they are super brainy at math or it will eat up their time. Good luck on the project future 6 graders!!!

It is important that you subtract the window and door’s area because first you are painting the wall not windows and doors. Also if you subtract the windows and doors you will have less stops to paint and then you don’t need to buy sooo much paint.
To find the how much paint you need you cover your wall and to find how much it cost We do ( leigh + leigh + weight + weight) Then x8. Next we find the leigh and weight of the door or window (lxw) Next - the size of room and windows and doors. Use the answer that you got and divide it by the cost of one gallon of paint. You can round to make your job esler. And now your done.

My Dream House Floor Plan:
Describing My Dream House: In my dream house I like it to be where there is a big space on the first floor because the kids can play without hurting them self and they wouldn’t bump into thing. I also love my dream house because i think it is neat, where the 2nd floor is. There is a hallway to keep every thing neat and it is easier for you to travel from room to room. In the 2nd floor i made my future son, daughter, and husband a room. I made rooms for them so we wouldn’t have to all sleep in one room. My daughter's room, the wall is painted pink because most little girls like girly colors or the color pink. My future son’s room, the walls are painted blue because most little boys like the color blue. Reflection/Conclusion: The first step to finish this project s that you have make the house. Then you paint it, decorate it, and make it neat. Then Calculate the area of the room. Next you Calculate how much much paint you need to use. Next you calculate how much will the paint cost. You also did the storage unit for our storage In this project the challenge for me is the math. I don’t really like math because I don’t really get it. The dream house building was easy, because we can do what we want. In this project the part I enjoy the most is when we are making our dream house. To make our dream house you have to choose how much/big you want your land to be. Then you to make the rooms. Also you need to choose how big you want you room to be. You can also decorate your rooms, walls, and if you want a backyard. Making a house in that app was really cool. At your home I think your mom and dad will even let you decorate your own room. So yeah it is really fun. I will recommend this project for the future 6th graders because first it is fun. I am those people that is bad at math but in this project the math is not that hard. I also think that parents will also recommend this project for the future 6th graders or the future because kids can’t copy other people’s work and that’s a good thing.

It is important to know the area of the window with regards to the amount of paint needed to paint the wall because you won’t need to paint over the window, all you need to paint over is your wall since that is what you are painting. To calculate the cost of painting the walls or carpeting the floor, you’ll need the length and width of the room you're painting as well as the height of it.The equation to get this is by adding the length and width 2 times then multiplying it by the height(l x 2)+(w x 2) x h.

My Dream House Floor Plan:
Describing My Dream House: My decision in making my floor plan was when started to add the mud room and living room then i slowly started to add each room. I put the living room next to the pool room because you can just walk in to swim when you feel like it when watching t.v. I put the bath close to the kitchen and where my family sleeps so that if you need to use the bathroom then it would be really easy to go to it.

It is important to know the area of the windows and doors because then we will not be painting them too! So what we do is we subtract the area of the wall that we will paint by the area of the windows and doors.
To calculate the cost for painting the walls, I first get the overall area of the walls. Next, I calculated the area of the windows and doors. Then I subtract the area of the windows and doors from the area of the walls. Lastly, I divide the area by 400 because 400 is how much one gallon of paint cover. Because you might not have a whole number, you will overestimate. Then I take the number of gallons that I overestimated and multiply it by the price of one gallon, which is $33.98.

Describing My Dream House: I wanted my dream house to be as convenient, enjoyable, and nice looking as possible. So then I put the rooms that are used once in awhile on one side and the more frequently used ones on the other. Also, I added a garden to the house. But I wanted the entrance to be through the kitchen because the people working in there can have a fresher feeling and get vegetables to cook. These are the overall reasons.
Reflection/Conclusion: I went through many steps to complete this project. I mostly converted measurements and made calculations. But some obstacles stood in my way. For example, it was challenging to figure out the cost for painting because of how complex it was. But I did have fun. This project was very enjoyable because of the Home Design app where designing rooms were very interesting and fun. Because of how fun it is, I would definitely recommend this to future 6th graders.

316.99-13.09=290.19ft
290.19/400=1 1x33.98=33.98
It is important to know the area of the window to need to paint to walls because the window plus the door equal the answer which you need to subtract the paint to find the cost then you divide by 400 to get the total paint answer. First I got the answer for area of paint then I divide by 400 because it is the rules. Then i did 290.19ft from the area of paint and then divide by 400 and got 0.7 if rounded. Then I did 0.7x 33.98 and got 23.786 as answer.

Describing My Dream House: My decision of putting the floor plan was put every room together because if there is a hallway and you really need to use the bathroom then you have to walk all the way there but if the room are together you can just go from one room to another room quicker than the hallway. My real decision was to also make them close so I can save rooms and space for other stuff or for later on.
Reflection/Conclusion: The part which is challenging was the part when the measurements because it took me a very long time to find the answer. The other very very challenging part was the part when you use tell the floor calculation because i mess up all the time. The part I was really enjoying was the part of the making the dream house it was fun to make the house.I do recommend this project for the further 6th graders because it can teach them about stuff.

You can tell how much paint you need if you know the area of the door and windows because you wouldn’t paint over the windows. You would have to know what the area is to find out how much paint you need
I found how long the walls are and added them together. Then I used the dimensions on the page where the objects are and found the area of the windows and doors in that room. Then I subtracted the windows and doors from the area of the walls. Then since 1 bucket of paint can cover 400 square feet. I divided my area to be painted to figure out how many buckets I need to cover my walls. Then I took the answer and estimated it so I would have enough rather than not enough. Then I did that number and multiply that be the cost because 1 bucket is 38.98 and I need 3 buckets.

My Dream House Floor Plan:
Describing My Dream House: I always wanted a house where it could be clean and big, but if you needed to go somewhere it would be easy. For example if at night you needed to go talk to your parents. You could go out your room and they would be on that floor. Also the dining room and the kitchen as well as the pantry should go together because If we cook something why should our dining room be all the way upstairs. You would have to walk all the upstairs and downstairs to go between each room.
Reflection/Conclusion: First I created my house and then I went through the process of calculating all the areas, volume, and putting in all the info in a document about my house. I think the most challenging part of the project was putting all the info about my dream house and putting it into this document. I think this because if you have a problem and you couldn’t solve it, you would have to wait the additional time until you can get help. Making the house was easy and I barely needed help at all. The part of the project I enjoyed the most was creating my dream house because it made you think about what you wanted in your house and explore. I recommend this project for future 6th graders because it makes you think and create things. It also makes you open your mind and it really makes you understand the math better at the end.

My Dream House Floor Plan:
Describing My Dream House: I place the bedrooms on the side so that they each will have a window to look outside. I placed the bathroom near where the backyard is so if they need to use the bathroom, they can just run in and go.
Reflection/Conclusion: I made my house as I want it, then I did the math, but I moved stuff around so I had to do the math all over again. The challenging part was making my house because I had to fit everything I needed for my future house, so it was challenging. The part I enjoyed the most was making the house because I got to make a house that I wanted to make. I recommend this for future 6th graders because it can improve their skills that they learned in class and put it in good use, like making/building a house.

It is important to know the area of the window because when you paint a wall you don't paint the windows so you find the area of the window, then you subtract it from the area of the wall, to find how much paint is needed.
I calculated the cost of painting the walls by finding the area of the 4 walls of a room excluding the windows and doors. This is because normally we don't paint the windows’ and we don't paint the doors the same color as the walls. Then I see how much 1 gallon of paint can cover and the cost.(if needed to round always round up because you always want more than less.) After that I divide the area that needs to be painted, by the amount of paint it can cover to make sure that amount is the exact or more than the wall. If I only need 1 gallon of paint to cover my wall then it would be $33.98 if needed more then keep adding the $33.98 to each gallon you use to find the cost.

My Dream House Floor Plan:
Describing My Dream House: I put the rooms in that way because when I picture a house I think of the living room close to the kitchen and the kitchen close to the dining room, so I made that one room a kitchen and dining room. Since I chose to live alone I put my bedroom close to the living room because I just felt that it works. I put the bathroom close to my room because since I'm not living in a huge house I put the bathroom close to me so it's easier to reach. The guest room is where my friends or a family member can stay when they come to visit or hang out.
Reflection/Conclusion: 1. The steps and processes I went through to complete the project is that I first planned out the rooms, then I put in the furnitures and the objects I wanted in the room. Then I did the math. 2. The parts of the projects that was more challenging was the math part of the project because there was a lot we had to remember to make sure we did the project correctly. 3. The parts of the project I really enjoyed was planning out the rooms and putting in the furnitures because I can design what I want my rooms to look like, and I'm really proud of my bedroom design. 4. I recommend this project to future 6th graders because you can design what you want your house to look like but there is also math included. And the project is related to real life.

It is important to know the area of the windows so you know how much paint to buy. For example when you paint a house you don't paint over the windows. So you use the area of the windows by subtracting that from the amount you need to paint. When you are building a house sometimes you are on a budget or need to know how much money to save. Knowing how much paint or carpet you need to buy is important to know. It can help you save because paint is necessary so you always want to know about how much the paint would be.

My Dream House Floor Plan:
Describing My Dream House: I put each room where it so it would be accessible. I wanted to make it as realistic as possible for example it would not make sense to have the kitchen all the way across the house, but in this house it is only a little bit of a walk. Also I had multiple hallways to make sure there was a way to get from place to place easily.
Reflection/Conclusion: I would recommend this project for future 6th graders because it is a fun project that allows you to have fun while learning, also this can help you later in life because this can help you learn to save money and calculate how much you will need. My favorite part of the project was being able to create your own house and being able to customize it. I think the most challenging part of this project was calculating the cost of the paint. In order to complete this project you had to create a house using the app, then you have to calculate the area of each room. Next, you need to find the total cost of paint then you need to calculate the volume of your storage units and type up your project.

My dream house has a bathroom, 2 bedrooms, playroom, storage, entrance room, kitchen, and a garage. My inspiration on designing my house is my imagination. I would think about my future family and how much people would be in my dream house. Also, everyone likes to play with each other so I figured out that there should be some fun things that go around my house like a swimming pool or a playroom. My house can fit as much people as possible. But, it is under my rules so I can decide who lives in my house. This is because sometimes people are not living in my house, they could of went to my house for a visit or a sleepover.

It is important to know the area of the window with regards to the amount of paint needed to paint the walls because you DO NOT paint the windows. You should find out the area of the wall and then subtract the area of the window so it doesn’t seem like you will be painting over the window with paint. To calculate the cost of painting the walls and/or carpeting the floors, I had to find the area of the walls and the carpets. Then, I multiplied it by 8 because the height of a standard US household wall is 8 feet.

My Dream House Floor Plan:
Describing My Dream House: I put each room where it is because it would make sense. For example, I wouldn't put the kitchen on one end of the house and the bathroom on the other end because it wouldn’t make any sense. The pipes that lead to the kitchen and the bathroom should be next to each other. Also, if my children needs help, they can just walk to the storage room and enter my bedroom on the other side of the room. This would make it so much easier than making them walk all the way around the house just to ask for help. The garage is at the corner because I will be parking my car inside so I wouldn’t make any sense if I put the garage in the middle of the house. The front door will be placed on the first room so that it will be the entrance to my house. The outdoor objects will be placed outside of my house. This will include a swimming pool, volleyball, playing with friends, etc. I put the border of the fences to make it seem like it’s my own personal land.
Reflection/Conclusion: 1.
During this project, I have came into different challenges and difficulties. One major difficulty was
when I had to chose the shapes of the rooms. This was pretty difficult because I wanted to be creative and I didn’t want all my rooms to be basic shapes like squares and rectangles so I mixed it up a little bit. I had to calculate the areas of the shapes but the fun part was to decorate and design it however I like. Even though we had to do some math to finish and accomplish this project, I thought that it was worth it. I had fun and this might be the most funniest project that I have ever done. 2.
The most challenging thing that I went through to complete this project was deciding which kinds of
shapes I wanted the rooms to be like and where to put the rooms. This is because the rooms should be next to each other in a certain way. For example, if I put the bathroom on one end, then it wouldn’t make any sense if I put the kitchen on the other side of the house. The pipes should be next to each other so it would be easier. 3.
The part of the project that I enjoy the most is making the rooms. This is because I got a chance to
decorate and design my house however I like. I got to pick the doors I wanted or the furnitures that I wanted instead of the teacher telling us what to put in a certain area/place. 4.
Yes, I do recommend this project for the future 6th graders because it helps them learn more about
how to find the areas of different shapes. They can also be more familiar with how to calculate different things, but the most important thing about this project is that you have fun!

My Dream House Floor Plan:
Describing My Dream House: I put those rooms in like the “work room” because in the future i would want to have the job of a youtuber. So that's why the computers are there. And how the living room is big because of how we like to play games so from board games to video games. I also put these rooms in because of me wanting all the need thing like a laundry room so we don't have to go all the way out to a laundry shop.
Reflection/Conclusion: First we had to make the shape of the land. And how we need to add room and how we have to find the area of the room. I feel that the most challenging thing i have done was adding the rooms area with a the weird shapes. There was more math than expected. The part i like the most was adding all the little details that make it more like us and our personality. For the future 6th graders if you make a big amount of rooms don’t make them so many weird shapes with the rooms because it leads to more math.

When painting the walls, we need to know the the area’s because we never paint the windows when determining the amount needed, so we need to subtract the area, so we know we won’t spend the paint on extra space that will not be painted. We calculate the cost because we want to know how much paint or carpeting we need to pay for to cover the whole walls, or floor, and what to pay for the amounts.

Describing My Dream House: When placing my bedrooms in my ‘dream house’, I placed them so the would be easy to place and more private than open. My only bathroom was only based on the amount of space, and attempting to make the house a perfect, regular shape - like the rectangle my house has formed. My bedrooms are mostly open because they are mostly modern based and are ‘showcase’ typed of rooms.
Reflection/Conclusion: 1) The steps and processes that I went through when making this project was the calculations, which was researching the calculations on the app, making the house, by also researching the calculations on averages of Americans homes, and answering questions that were based on the project to explain how and why I made my house as it is. 2) I thought making the house was the most challenging because it was hard to control and handle the app at first and had to repeatedly restart my project because of frustration and mess ups. I eventually, I understanded it more and learned from my silly mistakes, that Ms. Li cleared up at times. 3) I enjoyed decorating my house, because it was less confusing then building it. Showing my creative style through this home was really cool and showed how I would like a house - maybe one day. 4) I full-heartedly recommend this project because it is really fun to decorate and make a cool house. These projects make students actually like projects and encourages them to do better because it’s really fun.

It is important to know the area of the windows because windows do not get painted. So, if you just calculate the walls and say this is how much paint I need, when you have windows on the wall, you will have too much paint. What you need to do is, find the area of the windows, add all of their areas up, and subtract that from the walls.
I have used the area of all of the walls in one room as well as the areas of the windows, doors ,and openings in the rooms and then used math operations to calculate the cost.

Describing My Dream House: I made my floor plan this way because I want it to be a house where all of the rooms are close together because, as for myself, I like when rooms are close together because I feel more comfortable when everything is nearby. I like spacious rooms, so I chose to make the rooms bigger. One half of the house is designed with places that guests will like: the pool, bathrooms, dining room, backyard, garage, playroom, and the kitchen. On the other side, I have the living room, which is partially for guests, and the bedrooms. Reflection/Conclusion: I designed a dream house of my personal design, but it had to include certain things, and I had to account for all of the dimensions of the house. I had to include how much paint is needed and take each room’s windows into consideration. The part of the project that was most difficult was determining how much carpet is needed and how much paint is needed. It was more challenging because I couldn't just take the dimensions of the room and multiply because most of the window placements and paint areas formed a composite figure. The part I enjoyed the most was actually building the house because it taught me a lot about architecture. It was a fun challenge because sometimes I would have to cut a room in half if it was to big or fix halls and walls. Also, I liked how there were different types of furniture, objects, and almost anything from my imagination. I recommend this project to the future sixth graders because it's a fun project that teaches all different things like, how to design a house, what a architect's job is like, how to read feet and inches, multiplying side lengths, composite shapes, and even how to properly calculate proper amounts of paint when painting around windows in a house.
