DRESS CODE We believe good standards of dress promote a positive attitude to work and behaviour and identify students to local residents and future employers as members of an efficient organisation. The co-operation of all parents/carers is requested to ensure that students are in correct uniform to and from the academy as well as during normal school hours. Please note that Greensward Academy makes the final decision as to what is or is not acceptable in all aspects of a student’s appearance. BOYS Blazer – with Greensward Academy logo. Trousers – plain mid-grey, NOT black. Shirt – plain white with stiff collar for wearing with a clip-on tie (short or long sleeved), top button done up and shirt always tucked in, NO polo or open-necked shirts. Socks – plain navy or black. Clip-on Tie Shoes – must be black, polishable, traditional, flat heeled, sensible lace-up shoes with black laces. NO trainers, boots, canvas shoes, casual leisure shoes or shoes masquerading as a school shoe such Vans, Converse etc are permitted. Black Kickers shoes are permitted as long as they are shoes and not boots (i.e. all of the leather should be below the ankle bone). Jumper (optional) – plain navy v-neck with Greensward Academy logo. BOYS PE KIT Shorts – black, NO shorts with logo. White T-Shirt – plain round necked white t-shirt with Greensward Academy logo. Rugby Shirt – royal blue and white reversible with Greensward Academy logo. Outdoor Jacket (optional) – royal blue shower proof reversible jacket with Greensward Academy logo. Swimwear – plain swimming trunks and royal blue swimming cap with Greensward Academy logo. Socks – white ankle length socks for indoor sport, royal blue socks with white bands on top of sock for outdoor sport. Shoes – white or black trainers, football boots, NO trainers with soles that will mark sports hall floor. Shin Pads – shin pads must be worn for contact sports. Tracksuit Bottoms (optional) – plain navy, no logos. BOYS JEWELLERY Watch. One pair of small stud earrings (i.e. one in each ear lobe only). Medic alert chain if necessary. NO body piercing is allowed, including tongue, eyebrow and nose. NO piercing allowed in any other part of the ear. NO bracelets. BOYS HAIRSTYLES Hairstyle is an important aspect of the image central to the individual and the image the individual creates for Greensward Academy. NO extreme hairstyles i.e. not less than a grade 2 in length or brightly coloured or twotone hair.

Any hair bands, clips, etc should be plain navy, white or black. NO extreme hairstyles i.e. not less than a grade 2 in length or brightly coloured or twotone hair. Make-up is NOT permitted and this includes the use of fake or spray tan. Fake eyelashes, fake nails and nail varnish are also not allowed as these are unsuitable for school wear. If any student is deemed to be wearing make-up they will be asked to remove it. Persistent offenders will risk further sanctions.
