Ever wondered why some of your residents don't eat? • Are they coughing and choking at mealtimes? • Do some of your residents refuse drinks? • Are you concerned about a resident who is losing weight? • Are mealtimes stressful? • Have you had complaints about the modified diet you provide? • Do you have concerns about a resident's swallow and not sure who you should refer to? The Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) Team can provide a training session to answer these questions. We provide training sessions for staff (maximum 15 per session) to help understand and manage swallowing problems, also known as Dysphagia, in a variety of conditions such as Stroke, Parkinsons, Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis and natural aging. The cost is £150 per session. Each attendee will receive a certificate of attendance. Each site will receive a laminated flow chart to support decision making for future referrals to the service and master copies of our modified diet / fluid sheets.
