Earth Science MARY’S PEAK Field Trip Expectations May 31st, 2016  Go Directly to the Commons Tuesday Morning! Check your BUS COLOR and Group number – these will be posted in the commons.  Find your color-coded sign to locate where to wait in the commons  If you ordered lunch, you will pick it up from your Bus leader later.  Stay in the commons until you are called to the buses.  Go to the bathroom BEFORE you get on the bus!



What to Bring: 

String backpack to store materials



Science notebook and writing utensils. A MUST for your work and grade!



Any Medications you need (i.e. inhaler, motion sickness)



Sunscreen applied at home and some for the trip.



Lunch, plenty of snacks, and TWO water bottles! It will be a long day!



Appropriate clothing for warm weather and closed toed comfortable walking/hiking shoes. Please bring a rain coat or light jacket and pants just in case…



Electronics are allowed on the bus but must be put away once you step off the bus!



Electronics will be taken away for the day if we see them outside of the bus.



Phones can be used occasionally and briefly as cameras.

Behavioral Expectations:  Stay with your group and chaperones at all times!  Behavior is the same as at school! o

Dress code will be enforced.

Language and interactions with peers must be school appropriate.

 Always stay on the trails! Don’t take or throw anything!  Pack out your trash.  ALWAYS pay close attention to the MANY amazing community volunteers when they are teaching you! Do NOT socialize, talk or otherwise be disrespectful.  Listen respectfully! Make us proud! Say thank you!  Do your work!! Record observations and make sketches while you remember important details (Journals will be graded!)  Be sweet to your chaperone! They have made this trip possible! Say “thank you”!  Be safe, stay with your group, be respectful to your leader, do science, and have fun!

WHEN WE RETURN TO SCHOOL: 

Go directly to the commons. Bathroom use in small groups – check with your Bus leader.



We will be debriefing & creating a rough draft for the mural project – be ready to share what you saw and heard!
