Ecological Pyramid Construction     You will construct a 3-D ecological  pyramid to help gain a clear  understanding of energy transfer  through an ecosystem.  Each face of your pyramid will  represent a different way of looking  at these relationships within an  ecosystem.  Sides will represent:   ✓ ✓ ✓ ✓ ✓

Biomass pyramid (show mass values using g/m² or kg as your units)  Food chain with four trophic levels clearly shown and labeled  Energy pyramid (show energy numbers using Calories or Joules)  Numbers pyramid (show number of individuals at each trophic level)  On the bottom write which biome goes with which side (each side  needs to be organisms from a different biome) 

  In addition to the above content your pyramid will be evaluated on the  following points:   o o o o o o

Colorful   Correctness of information (10% rule!)  Organism named and drawn on each trophic level  Neatly displayed and constructed  Name and period on the bottom  Biomass, numbers, energy pyramids, and food chain reflect four  trophic levels (Producer, primary consumer, secondary consumer,  tertiary consumer)     This assignment will be worth 30 points
