We sometimes can be numb to the amazing technological advances taking place in our time. The only constant in today's world of electronics is change. The rapid rate of transition from an analog to a digital platform in technology has become the foundation of technological developments in the electronics industry. As humanity races toward completing its shift from analog to digital data communication and storage, scientists can look back at how fast the transition has been. In 2000, three-quarters of the world's information was still in analog form. By 2007, all but 6 percent had been preserved digitally. ("Shift From Analog to Digital," n.d.).

Sectors in the electronics industry that are expected to experience exponential growth within the next few decades are: healthcare, wireless applications, and communication networks. One of the most amazing discoveries in the new millennium has been graphene fiber as it relates the potential applications to more than quadruple the current fiber optic communication capacity for transmitting data. The first - a recent discovery at the University of California at Los Angeles -- is a double win for the new material ... and for the entire electronics sector. You see, a research team there devised tiny devices that can charge and discharge power up to 1,000 times faster than standard batteries . ("Massive Breakthrough for Graphene," n.d.).

I have patiently waited the arrival of several essential electronic advancements in the electronic industry such as: the IPv6 protocol deployment, the Googlefiber network, and the Raspberry Pi platform distribution to allow my completion of the EVoteTechnology. The future of the field of electronics shall give birth to technologies that shall revolutionize the whole world by shrinking global networks that shall connect nations and people and industries in ways never thought possible.
