Emerging Leader Academy Five interconnected professional development opportunities for those educators that have aspirations for school leadership. David Larson, Director of Curriculum & Instruction at the Miami County ESC, will lead this workshop. David has over 10 years of administrative experience including service as a Building Principal, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent. He recognizes the tremendous importance of high quality leadership, which inspired this professional development experience designed to help develop participant’s full leadership potential. Topics will include: • Communication and Relationships • Fostering Ingenuity and Building Capacity • Ethical and Courageous Leadership • Using Conflict to Develop Growth • Establishing a Culture of Learning and Growth

Developed for teachers, new administrators, and other school personnel who are exploring the transition to positions of educational leadership Each learning opportunity is scheduled for two hours and will consist of collaborative activities, engaging videos, advice from local experts, and thoughtprovoking discussions Participants will be eligible for continuing education or graduate credit through the University of Dayton or Urbana University based on optional/additional learning experiences
