Installing OS X on AORUS X7 V2 is ‘at your own risk’ and I have no responsibility for your actions. Things that you need to know before installing OS X on your laptop Some features will not work properly. Ambient Light Sensor, Realtek PCIe SD CardReader, Editing Macro doesn’t working. Pre-Setted Macros can use on Windows and OS X. SLI doesn’t work but you can use dual gpus in applications which supports OpenCL like Final Cut Pro X. For example, in FCPX, Dual GTX860Ms are faster than GTX780M in iMac and even beat R9 M290X on iMac with Retina Display. Intel 7260 Wi-Fi + BT doesn’t work in OS X. If you want use Wi-Fi/BT feature, you have to buy mPCIe half mini size Wi-Fi/BT chip which has compatibility to OS X or buy a USB Wi-Fi adapter.

No hardware problem from Installing, but it can destroy your data. It can erase or mess up your data in target drive. Please Install OS X on separated SSD/HDD from other OS. I don’t recommend Installing Windows and OS X at a same SSD/HDD. I don’t recommend Installing OS X on a RAID 0 volume. I don’t recommend Installing OS X on a Fusion Drive volume.

Install TransMac for Windows. Run it as administrator.

Click OK button and wait until the writing process is over. When it’s over, now you have an USB Install Disc.

Boot the laptop and press F2. You’ll see BIOS setup menu.

Go to ‘Boot’ menu. Set the OS Type to ‘UEFI OS’. Set the Boot Option #1 to ‘UEFI: Your USB Drive’.

Go to ‘Advanced > SATA Condguration’ menu.

Set the SATA Mode Selection to ‘AHCI’. Warning : when RAID mode is disabled, All data in RAID volume will be lost. Hardware RAID mode doesn’t support OS X for now.

Go to ‘Security’ menu. Set Default Security Boot on to ‘Disabled’. Save the BIOS value and Reboot. Press F2 key and enter the BIOS setup menu one more time. Go to ‘Security’ menu 1 more time and now you can see ‘Enroll All Factory Default Keys’. Press enter on Enroll All Factory Default keys and enter more times until you reboot automatically. After the reboot, you can see that ‘Secure Boot’ value is turned to ‘Not Active’, which means NonWindows OS can be booted and installed on the machine. Save the BIOS settings and reboot once more.

Insert the USB Install Disc to X7 V2. Boot the machine. Now you can see Clover Bootloader menu. Press Enter or click the USB drive icon which is ‘Boot OS X Install from Install OS X Yosemite’.

After several minutes of loading, you’ll see language selection and OS X Utilities menu. Click ‘Disk Utility’ and click continue.

Select a disk what you want to install OS X. Go to ‘Partition’ menu and make a new partition. Go to ‘Options….’ and condrm that it’ll be used GUID Partition Table. Select ‘1 Partition’ layout and name the partition to what you prefer. Click ‘Apply’ button. After partitioning completed, close the disk utility.

Select ‘Install OS X’. Click Continue button.

Click the partition you made. Click Install button. Install time will vary, average is 10-15 mins. Horus of

After the installing, the machine will reboot automatically. Do not eject USB Install Disc. Go to ‘Options’ menu.

Go to ‘Graphics Injector menu’.

Change the value of ‘InjectNVidia’, false to true. Return to the main menu. Horus of

Select ‘Boot OS X Yosemite from YOUR VOLUME NAME’, press enter to boot OS X. After booting, make sure that if your machine asks how to connect to the Internet, choose the undermost option, Computer is not connected in the Internet. I recommend you don’t give any informations to Apple. Apple can know your hardware infos via those informations and can disable necessary services(e.g. Mac App Store) Horus of

Open Finder and go to /EFI/EFI directory. Paste copied folders and dles into the directory. Now you can boot X7 V2 without Install USB Disc. After dnishing whole installation process, please reboot once again. Horus of

Useful Informations while using OS X

Windows key works as a option key. Alt key works as a command key. Fn + Function key works perfectly. Fn + Space controls keyboard backlight manually. Unfortunately, it can’t be work automatically for now. When you set a G Macro key on the Windows, It’ll work on OS X, too. For example, if you assign ‘Windows key + Q key’ to the G1 key, It’ll work as a ‘Command + Q’ on OS X. Multi-touch gesture will work, but up to 3 dngers. Dual GPUs work like a 2013 Mac Pro. so if an application supports dual gpu or has performance benedt on 2013 Mac Pro, AORUS X7 V2 can get the same benedt.

어로스 X7 V2에 OS X을 설치 하기 전에 알아둬야 할 것들 몇 가지 기능이 제대로 동작하지 않습니다. 광량 감지 센서, 리얼텍 PCIe SD카드 리더기, G 매크로 키를 세 팅하는 기능은 동작하지 않습니다. 윈도우에서 미리 세팅한 매크로는 OS X에서도 동작합니다. SLI는 동작하지 않으나, 대신에 듀얼 GPU 가속을 지원하는 애 플리케이션은 정상적으로 가속됩니다. 그 예로, Final Cut Pro X에서 2개의 GTX860M은 iMac GTX780M 모델보다 더 나은 성능을 보이며, iMac 5K의 R9 M290X와 비등한 성능을 보입 니다. 어로스 X7 V2에 기본 탑재된 인텔 7260 무선랜 및 블루투스 칩 은 OS X에서 동작하지 않습니다. 만일 OS X에서도 이 기능이 동작하길 원한다면, mPCIe half mini 규격의 OS X과 호환되 는 제품을 구매하시거나, USB 무선 어댑터를 구매하십시오.

설치 과정에서 하드웨어 문제가 일어나지는 않 지만, 데이터는 소실될 수 있습니다. 설치 과정에서 설치 대상 드라이브의 데이터가 소실될 우려가 있습니다. 되도록 OS X을 다른 운영체제가 설치된 SSD/HDD 에 설치하지 마시기 바랍니다. 윈도우와 OS X을 같은 SSD/HDD에 설치하지 마십시오. 가능하면 RAID 0 볼륨에 OS X을 설치하지 마십시오. 가능하면 Fusion Drive로 볼륨을 구성하여 OS X을 설치하지 마십시오.

‘Security’ 메뉴로 이동합니다. Default Security Boot on의 값을 ‘Disabled’ 로 변경합 니다. BIOS 설정을 저장한 후 재부팅합니다. F2 키를 눌러 다시 BIOS 설정 메뉴로 진입합니다. ‘Security’ 메뉴로 이동하면 ‘Enroll All Factory Default Keys’ 옵션이 활성화된 걸 볼 수 있습니다. Enroll All Factory Default keys 옵션에서 엔터 키를 재 부팅할 때까지 여러 번 누릅니다. 재부팅 후, ‘Secure Boot’ 값이 ‘Not Active’로 바뀐 것을 확인할 수 있습니다. 이것은 윈도우 외의 다른 OS가 설치 및 부팅될 수 있다는 것을 의미합니다. BIOS 설정을 저장한 뒤 다시 한 번 재부팅합니다.

윈도우 키는 option 키로 동작합니다. Alt 키는 command 키로 동작합니다. Fn + F1~F12 키는 정상적으로 동작합니다. Fn + Space 키로 키보드 백라이트 ON/OFF 및 밝 기 조절이 가능합니다. 광량 감지 센서가 작동하지 않아 자동 ON/OFF 기능은 작동하지 않습니다. 윈도우에서 G 매크로 키를 미리 설정해 놓으시면 OS X에서도 그대로 동작합니다. 그 예로, 윈도우 키 + Q 키를 G1 키에 맵핑하면 OS X에서는 ‘Command + Q’ 로 인식됩니다. 시스템 환경설정에서 멀티터치 제스처를 활성화할 수 있습니다. 그러나 3개의 손가락까지만 인식합니 다. 듀얼 GPU는 2013년 출시 Mac Pro처럼 동작합니 다. 그러므로 만일 애플리케이션이 Mac Pro의 듀 얼 GPU를 지원한다면, 어로스 X7 V2 또한 동일한 애플리케이션에서 성능상 이득을 볼 수 있습니다.
