Take a drive down South Egan Avenue in Madison and you will see some exciting new changes! Where Jensen Motors once stood, the new Encore Family Store is now being built. This downtown revitalization project has been a long time in the making and we are thrilled to see progress on a weekly basis. The store is scheduled to open in November 2OL4.
The building will be owned by the Madison Community Foundation and will be leased to lnterLakes Community Actign Partnership (ICAP) for the operation of a thrift store. With two-thirds of the fundraising goal met, we are now within reach of our goal. As we enter this last stretch, we are writing to ask for your help.
Many local individuals and businesses have come forward with their contributions to make this project a reality. The Encore Family Store will help people in the Lake County area for years to come, and we greatly appreciate all donations, no matter the size. We invite you to join us with your tax-deductible gift of any amount. The enclosed pledge card outlines the benefits of a thrift store and the good it will bring to our community. The store will offer a low cost shopping option to all. ln some cases, vouchers for no-cost items may be issued.
With the uncertainty of government funding, the thrift store and the revenue it will produce is more important for our community than ever. Net proceeds from the Encore Family Store will be used to support local programs through ICAP. lf you would like_more information, please contact one of the members of the Encore Family Store Steering Committee (listed below) or send an emailto
