FADE TO WHITE FROM A HIGHER POINT OF VIEW FADE TO: INT. ROOM - DAY A naked man is sleeping on his side. He is curled up. MAN (V.O) Dreams. Dreams have been the reflexion of man's soul since the beginning of time. IMAGE: A foetus floats in the air. He moves while he sleeps. MAN (V.O) (CONT'D) Everyone dreams. It is a vital need. If humans did not dream, they would sink into madness and eventually die. IMAGE: A baby sleeps in his berth. He smiles. MAN (V.O) (CONT'D) In the 70s, Senois children spoke of their dreams to thrive, to connect to who they were, to understand, to more easily confront their nightmares. IMAGE: A young black girl who's talking in her sleep. MAN (V.O) (CONT'D) In adolescence, none of the Senois suffered from psychotic disorder or depression. They were balanced, lively and sane, all without exception. The man turns on his back. He is obviously disturbed in his sleep. MAN (V.O) (CONT'D) It is said that when humans are asleep their brain can develop the ability to harness the power of dreams to its fullest potential. Imagine if some of us could use this ability. MAN (V.O) (CONT'D) Legends and myths tell us that some are able to use this ability wisely, others not... The man's eyes moves rapidly behind his eyelids. MAN (V.O) (CONT'D) Anguish and misery are slowly setting into the Dream’s two hundreds thousands year old Multiverse. The man’s eyes quickly open. ZOOM IN ON HIS EYES PROLOGUE - DREAM – DAY IMAGE: SUBJECTIVE CAMERA FLYING ...In the clouds. Some of the higher skyscrapers (made of wood and rock) are piercing through them. We discover a beautiful white city far away and begin our descent towards the ground. MAN (V.O) At that time, dreams were present in every aspect of man's life. They were in union with the Soul and the Earth. Man used dreams to release his spirit into it. Families were at peace with each other. It was a harmonious time. IMAGE: Children play in a green backyard of an immense white castle. MAN (V.O) (CONT'D) But one night, a Nightmare Spirit succeeded to build an artificial black hole conduit to infiltrate Man's Soul. IMAGE: Day becomes night by black clouds overshadowing the city... Nightmare creatures succeeded in crossing into our dream dimension. IMAGE: Children at play scream and run... IMAGE: Some creatures wearing black Tuareg clothes, with just a mouth in the face, pursue people... They had found man’s weekness...

MAN (V.O) (CONT'D) It created jealousy, corruption that lead to fear, hatred and violence. IMAGE: A family portrait with many women dressed in black... Chaos began to spread everywhere. A Nightmare Order was born... IMAGE: Fire in the city. HYANIS, VULTURIANS and NARKHYS hunt down villagers, women and children. Fights between men and creatures. KHAMELEOMS flying in the sky and attacking nightmare creatures with their long spears. MAN (V.O) (CONT'D) In retaliation to this alarming rise, a Khameleom Prince trained twin brothers to use dreams to gain confidence and to master impressive skills. IMAGE: In a large and dark room lit by candles; four old women help a woman to give birth to her children... IMAGE: In an impressive ceremony officiated by Khameleoms and some respectable families on a magnificent and luminous beach, two young men receive their boomlights from the Khameleoms hands... ELOÏK and WENDALL MACMILLAN became formidable nightmare fighters. Wendall stayed behind to fight the Order. Eloïk was sent to our time to close the gap. IMAGE: Eloïk and his teammates JANIKA, NED and DYLAN flying in the sky... With the help of his accomplice NILIANNA KEROUANI, they founded the dreamonauts who patrol Dream’s Multiverse to prevent the worst nightmare from spreading to man's soul. SUPER: ELOÏK NIGHTMARE FIGHTER – THE SOUL DEVOURER

(DREAM) INT. REPTILUS ISLAND - CAVE - TIGHT TUNNEL - DAY Breathless, a young boy with semi-long brown hair, MARTY, runs as fast as he can into one of the many cavernous halls of a huge dark ramiform cave. He stops to rest while quickly peeking behind him.

Exhausted, he begins to sob. A weird lizard comes near Marty: it is high on it’s leg and has fur on the back. It has a large serrated jaw. MARTY Eloïk, please, please, help me. A LOUD AND STRANGE SCREAM. The little frightened Marty starts to run. INT. REPTILUS ISLAND – CAVE – DAY A spot of blue light spins in a huge room of this cave. This light turns off to reveal a young man, ELOÏK MACMILLAN, in his twenties who lands gently and walks slowly on the muddy ground. This hole is full of mud creepers, giant stalagmites and dripping stalactites. Some plants, many scales and dead skin in all shapes litter the ground. A few rays of light shine through, just enough to get a glance of his long blond hair and his dirty face. He is dressed in a worn out and scratched blue-black medieval futuristic armour. A result of many bloody battles against nightmare creatures. ELOÏK MARTYYY! MARTYYYY! (To himself) Where are you... A SOUND NOTIFICATION from a medallion. Walking, Eloïk touches the medallion on his breastplate: a blue-lit medallion with twelve blue-lit hieroglyphics. He touches some of those symbols. A HOLONIRIC image’s appears in front of him: The Dream’s Multiverse Central Zone map. A “look-a-like” planet cuts in half. A flat earth with giants roots underneath. In the middle, a huge pillar rises very high. You can compare this pillar to the highest volcanoes. An illuminated dot indicates his position at the bottom. He frowns. (Holoniric: Clouding-smoking picture in a threedimensional shape.) MARTY (DREAM VOICE OVER) Eloïk? ELOÏK Marty! I’m getting closer to you. I can feel your ether now.

MARTY (DVO) The monster can feel mine too. I am like Tweedy the bird lost in a snake’s nest. I am so tired of it. Marty sobs. Eloïk sighs a bit. ELOÏK Don’t give up my little friend; I’ll help you. MARTY (DVO) I hope, this time. Hurry up, please. He seems more dangerous and furious as ever. Eloïk closes and opens his eyes and sighs. ELOÏK Don’t move, this time. I’m coming A.S.A.P. He again touches the centre of his medallion. The map’s image vanishes and another one takes it place: A man's head with short brown hair appears, Sergeant McDougha. ELOÏK (CONT'D) Sergeant, there is something wrong with my triangular sensor. Can you scan it please? Marty's nightmare evolves and darkens. I intend to end it once and for all. See you soon. Eloïk touches his medallion and the image disappears. He takes a small metallic ring attached to a sheath slung over his chest. The nightmare fighter "separates" the ring with his fingers. It grows and transforms into large "boomlights". They are two blue-green luminous like-crescents with the properties of boomerangs that can cut through anything. INT. REPTILUS ISLAND – GORGE - DAY Eloïk arrives near a narrow gorge. He puts his boomlights in the sleeve behind his back. He notices that the ground is muddier. The floor collapses under his feet. Surprised, he loses his balance and slumps heavily into a vacuum like suction. ELOÏK Oops... © 2015 @ [email protected]. All rights reserved. Page 6 on 171

Falling like a rock, he knocks his head violently against the edge, and immediately vanishes. INT. REPTILUS ISLAND – TUNNEL – DAY His lifeless body continues plummeting head over heels for a long distance, which leads him into a gloomy den. INT. REPTILUS ISLAND – DEN – DAY Suddenly, Eloïk's feet are sharply captured. His fall ends immediately. A long reptilus, hanging securely in vines on the wall, begin to engulf his two lower limbs. Two other reptilus appear and capture his hands. They engulf them too. INT. REPTILUS ISLAND – CAVE – DAY Leaving a narrow passage and looking back constantly, Marty runs towards the madness, haunted by a screaming reptilus. Without realizing it, he finds himself in a huge cave, which is inhabited by a giant reptilus with several appalling heads. They have lit patterns on their head and on their spine. Marty stops his run instantly. His feet slip on the floor and small stones begin to fall down. Many reptilus heads stop moving. The boy is paralyzed and terrified. Reptilus heads dance lugubriously again. Marty exhales and starts to move slowly along the rock wall to a small dark opening, he noticed a slope, fifty feet to his right. INT. REPTILUS ISLAND – DEN – DAY The reptilus have now advanced near Eloik’s elbows and knees. He is still unconscious. A gigantic black python slides on the rocky walls. He makes an impressive jump to the nightmare fighter's head. He begins to swallow it as it would do with an ostrich egg. Green ether flows from Eloïk's forehead. The mouth of the reptile is now at his nose and mouth. A few seconds later, Eloïk’s mouth and head are completely submerged. A FRIGHTFUL scream, which comes from the depths, is lost in echo. It wakes Eloïk. In a panic, he begins to move vigorously. He shouts. We can see the shape of his open mouth through the skin of the reptilus. Suddenly he stops moving and screaming.

ELOÏK (muffled voice) Si coua, codenta. Colusmendou. He begins to shake his back and his head violently. His boomlights start moving and agitating. His weapons, out of their sheath, fall into the endless abyss. Eloïk takes a moment to relax. His boomlights reappear suddenly and cut the reptilus that engulfed his arms. His hands slightly cleared manage to resume boomlights that are returning to them. As quick as lightning, he cuts the reptiles right where they hold his head and legs. Eloïk starts flying at full speed towards the top of the cave and re-enters it then lands a little further. INT. REPTILUS ISLAND – CAVE - DAY The young man takes off the rest of the reptilus's mouth on his head. He's covered with bruises, scratches and a brownish gelatinous substance. He removes four other reptile’s mouths from his arms and legs. He wipes his face and breathes out strongly. ELOÏK Now we are talking! He wipes his arms and suit. He draws his boomlights. ELOÏK (CONT'D) Spineless fool, I got you now. The nightmare fighter runs and jumps high into the air and dives as a cliff diver into the hole at full speed. INT. REPTILUS ISLAND – CAVERNOUS - PLATFORM – DAY Eloïk shows up in a huge and dark cavernous room. After a few spins, he lands heavily on a small platform. Further down on a larger stage, he glimpses at the gargantuan serpent with twelve heads below on the platform. It’s like a giant spider except the legs are snakes. They are attached to a huge body shaped like a half sphere. Eloïk sees a boy sitting and curled up into a crevasse near the reptilus. His eyes widen. He runs, takes off and shouts his rage. INT. REPTILUS ISLAND – CAVERNOUS – HIGH AIR - DAY

The heads of the reptilus agitate spontaneously. They roar and we see their illuminated teeth and illuminated red eyes. The fighter approaches them and draws his boomlights while spinning in the air. He throws them fiercely towards two of the heads. The other heads spit red electric blades at Eloïk without hitting him. Before firing an electric blade, a reptilus takes ten seconds to reload. While reloading, his throat becomes increasingly red. Pierced deeply, the two other heads detach themselves from their bodies. INT. REPTILUS ISLAND – CAVERNOUS – PROMONTORY - DAY Eloïk lands farther on a promontory overlooking the scene. The monster groans in pain. But, as soon as the heads are severed they start to quickly grow back fast. Eloïk is confused. ELOÏK It’s a regenerator? How? The hero backs up a bit, and fiercely throws his impressive weapons giving them curving effects. On their way back, they cut off two other heads... that immediately grow back and get bigger. Eloïk sighs before catching his weapons. Marty hears the monster wailing differently. The boy turns and raises his eyes to his dream hero. MARTY ELOIIIK! The little boy is smiling. Eloïk widens his eyes observing the child. ELOÏK Nooooo! Martyyyy! The beast has already turned to Marty. The largest one, rushes quickly to capture the boy with his large toothed mouth. Instantly, the boy screams in pain. Other reptilus position themselves in front of their brother to protect him and his prey. Speechless for a few seconds, Eloïk becomes increasingly furious. He throws a boomlight and prepares himself to draw another one again but he stops. The monster strengthens its grip. Other reptilus launch electric blades towards the boomlight but miss their target. Eloïk frowns: The reptilus is absorbing Marty's ether faster. The young boy screams and faints.

A huge crocodile arrives at the scene near the beast. He immediately receives an electrical burst. The beast becomes unconscious. A little smoke emerges from his mouth. The body turns bright red, an implosion sound is emitted and the body turns to ashes. Eloïk sighs. He kicks his medallion. Sergeant McDougha's head appears. ELOÏK (In a hurry) Sergeant, I need Captain Onimura’s help, right now. MCDOUGHA Captain McMillan, we will contact Captain Onimura soon but she seems stuck in the southern sector of Osdonia. There is irregular activity from Nightmares in... ELOÏK I don’t want any excuses; I want Janika, right now! INT. ACADEMY OF DREAMS - CHAMBER DREAMS - CONTROL ROOM – DAY (EARTH – SCOTLAND - EDINBURGH) In the centre of a huge circular room, there are joined offices circling a holoniric Central Zone’s map. Technicians are at each desk which are divided into twelve sectors. The control room is surrounded by twelve hundred oval transparent hatches placed like seats in an arena. Each row of hatches is separated by stairs. These hatches are for the Elite Dream Soldiers. The contour of each hatch shows a colour that is determined by the dream fighter's status: Green; active, Yellow; in danger, Red; dead. Inside the hatch, another colour appears. That colour represents the fighter's grade that is shown on his medallion. A high circular platform surrounds the chamber. Once the fighter is out of the hatch, it straightens up with a fast SUCKING SOUND. The hatch opens from the top and a tube of light draws him back out to the platform. At this moment, one third of the hatches are occupied. There is a bit of activity going on: departures and arrivals. Close to the central screen stands GENERAL NILIANNA KEROUANI, a gentle, charismatic seventy year old women that looks fifty © 2015 @ [email protected]. All rights reserved. Page 10 on 171

walking with a cheap wooden cane. She has long gray highlighted hair with piercing gray eyes. Eloïk’s body appears in holoniric. He is unable to stand still. NILIANNA Eloïk? It is unnatural for the boy to lose his ether that quickly. Is he conscious? ELOÏK No, Nilianna, so, I’m not able to wake him up. The monster has already absorbed a lot of his ether. NILIANNA What attacked him? ELOÏK A self-regenerating reptilus. He's been chasing him for several months. He gets bigger and stronger each time he visits Marty and every time I attack him. Nilianna thinks. NILIANNA Eloïk, if he loses all his ether after the bite of this beast, he will not wake up. He will die. INT. REPTILUS ISLAND – CAVE - DAY Eloïk's face grows dark. He closes the projection with a knock on his medallion. Panicked with a shortness of breath, the fighter looks everywhere. He notices, on the ceiling of the cave, huge stalactites that overlook the monster. Nilianna's holoniric image appears before the young man. NILIANNA Eloïk, you have to go. It has become too dangerous. This reptilus is a Soul Devourer, a creature extremely rare in Dream. I thought they had disappeared. One of them killed a close friend of mine a long time ago.

ELOÏK Nilianna, I can’t leave Marty. NILIANNA You cannot do anything for him now. Do not let your impulsiveness cloud your judgement. ELOÏK No! Nilianna! I’ve known him for months. I promised him that I would help him with this nightmare and that is what I intend to do, until, the, end! NILIANNA End of what Eloïk? Eloïk sighs. His eyes are on fire. ELOÏK Send me Janika NOW! I know how to help him. NILIANNA Eloïk, no, I am ord... Eloïk pushes on his medallion a few seconds and Nilianna's holoniric image disappears.
