Known Issues Issues affecting the EAS™ 6.9 Release. Bigint Related Limitation For customer using Oracle databases or regular “mssql” based SQL databases (non bigint), issues may be encountered where the EAS archive contains more than 2.1 billion archived items. If your archive count is approaching or exceeds this threshold and your database is not ‘bigint’ based please contact Capax Technical Support.
Outlook Stability Issues with Archive Now Using the Archive Now button when a large number of messages are selected (more than 250), may cause Outlook to close unexpectedly.
EAS for Files Retrieval issue via Outlook Addin Search Under certain circumstances some files cannot be retrieved when using the FAS Search option in the EAS Outlook Add-in search window. (EAS for Files)
EAS for Files Retrieval issue via Outlook Addin Search By default, Outlook 2013 does not "pop-out" a message to a new window when forwarded. If a stubbed message is attached to the message being forwarded, the archived original is not retrieved unless the message is popped out. This issue results in a stub being forwarded instead of the original.
EAS Web Client Script Error A browser script error displays sporadically when launching the Web Client
Top Issues Resolved in EAS™ 6.9 The following enhancements have been delivered in EAS™ 6.9.
Search limitation for archives exceeding 2.1 billion items has been resolved – EAS installations utilizing “bigint_mssql” will work correctly with message ID’s exceeding 2.1 billion. The Client Permissions Task no longer impacts settings in place for PST Gathering. Customers can now run the Client permissions task while performing PST Gathering. Quota based archival is now compatible with Exchange 2013.

Log sharing issues with EASOWA 2013 have now been resolved. IN EAS 6.9 Frontend and Back-end EASOWA 2013 components now write to independent logs: EASOWA.log and EASOWABackend.log.

In EAS 6.8 under certain circumstances a repair action against EASOWA will result in specific search and retrieval URL fields within the eas.ini file being reset to default. This issue has been corrected in 6.9 so that the eas.ini fields in question do not reset to default as a result of a repair action.

Retrieving archived items returned within search queries against environments with over 2.1 billion archived not functioning correctly. This has been resolved in EAS 6.9.

In EAS 6.8, under certain circumstances, when restoring messages via the EAS Outlook Addin messages with Chinese (Simplified) characters are restored as ‘??’. This issue has been corrected in 6.9 so that Unicode characters in the subject and sender fields are retained when a stubbed message is restored using the Restore button in the EAS Outlook Add-in.

In EAS 6.8 when a no ‘profile’ record is available ‘R’ records fail to get processed. This issue has been corrected in EAS 6.9 and purged messages are now removed from IDOL as expected by the EAS Indexer.

In EAS 6.8, under certain circumstances the EAS Indexer would end unexpectedly while running with the ‘Get SMTP’ option enabled. This has been corrected in EAS 6.9.

When indexing against EAS for Files archive content, an issue relating to specific zip files formats failing to process correctly in encountered (with the error ‘zip does not support this method of compression’) – this has been corrected.

Description Under certain circumstances, when using the EAS for Files Search option in the EAS Outlook Addin search window, some items will fail to retrieve correctly. This issue has been resolved in 6.9.
EAS IIS The following resolved issues apply to EASIIS component. ID 669
Description Search queries against environments with over 2.1 billion archived items were only returning a single result when multiple search results were expected. This has been resolved in EAS 6.9.

For this Release, the EAS database is not updated unless the existing EAS™ installation utilizes an EAS database that uses ‘bigint’. The components in the installation package are contained in ZIP files. Once extracted from the ZIP, run the setup.exe file to perform the component installation.
Note
