Though,​ ​we​ ​are​ ​open​ ​to​ ​other​ ​topics​ ​that​ ​students​ ​might​ ​like​ ​to​ ​explore​ ​as​ ​long​ ​as​ ​it relates​ ​to​ ​an​ ​issue​ ​impacting​ ​the​ ​Adirondacks. Last​ ​summer,​ ​we​ ​had​ ​three​ ​summer​ ​research​ ​fellows.​ ​A​ ​political​ ​science​ ​major​ ​from Union​ ​College​ ​who​ ​examined​ ​the​ ​proposed​ ​Adirondack​ ​Club​ ​and​ ​Resort,​ ​a​ ​urban​ ​policy and​ ​environmental​ ​studies​ ​major​ ​from​ ​Bard​ ​College​ ​who​ ​examined​ ​watersheds​ ​in​ ​the Park,​ ​and​ ​a​ ​economics​ ​major​ ​from​ ​Vassar​ ​College​ ​that​ ​researched​ ​micro-finance​ ​in​ ​the Adirondacks.​ ​At​ ​the​ ​conclusion​ ​of​ ​the​ ​fellowship,​ ​students​ ​presented​ ​their​ ​research​ ​to members​ ​of​ ​the​ ​Union​ ​community​ ​and​ ​individuals​ ​who​ ​have​ ​a​ ​concern​ ​for​ ​the environment.
