The Bioenergy Scholars Program offers summer research work to undergraduates, who can apply to work at one of several universities in the Northeast US (including Penn State, Cornell, Rutgers, West Virginia University, SUNY ESF, and Delaware State University and others). After a one-week orientation program at Delaware State, students will be brought to their host university to spend the summer working side by side with graduate students and researchers on important bioenergy topics. Students will prepare a paper based on their work for presentation at the end of the summer. Applicants should have an interest in bioenergy, but students from a wide variety of backgrounds and locations are encouraged to apply.

Summer Fellowship at the Kelly Adirondack Center
Summary The Kelly Adirondack Center at Union College is proud to announce the summer research fellowship program for summer 2014. The goal is to promote dialogue and discourse on issues impacting the Adirondacks. Qualifications Candidates must be students enrolled in an undergraduate, master's or Ph.D. program in urban planning, public policy, environmental science, the physical sciences, or a social science. The position will begin June 1 through August 31 (approximately). The salary is $3,200, plus $600 toward project-related expenses. More Info The Kelly Adirondack Research Center at Union College is proud to announce that we will once again offer summer research fellowships to undergraduate and/or graduate students who would like to conduct research on the Adirondack Park. Specifically, students who are interested in topics that examine the tensions between conservation, sustainability, and economic development is encouraged to apply for this fellowship. Though, we are open to other topics that students might like to explore as long as it relates to an issue impacting the Adirondacks. Last summer, we had three summer research fellows. A political science major from Union College who examined the proposed Adirondack Club and Resort, a urban policy and environmental studies major from Bard College who examined watersheds in the Park, and a economics major from Vassar College that researched micro-finance in the Adirondacks. At the conclusion of the fellowship, students presented their research to members of the Union community and individuals who have a concern for the environment.

Market and product research on specific technologies. Prepare/package program presentations and marketing materials. Qualifications: Current fully matriculated undergraduate or graduate student. Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products, including spreadsheets and/or databases. Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, technical writing, and organization skills. Ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize useful data from a variety of sources.
