A Message from the Coordinator: Welcome to this Semester’s Activity Program at ISB Elementary School. ISB’s ES Explore Program brings students and adults together for a series of nine (9) cocurricular activities sessions that are wonderful learning experiences that are also fun. ISB’s ES Explore program is designed to give our students an opportunity to explore and develop new interests. The Registration Fee for each activity is 2,500 baht/Semester. The only exceptions are Taekwondo and Orff Ensemble that meets twice a week and have a fee of 5,000 baht/Semester. We encourage Pre-K and Kindergarten children to participate in after school activities. To help ensure the safety of our youngest students, we ask parents to make arrangements to have their child escorted from the classroom to any Activity they enroll in. The escort may be a parent, maid, driver or sibling. The Pre-K or K child’s teacher should be informed of the escort arrangements. As part of the ES Explore program this semester, the ISB Athletic Department is sponsoring: Team Connect Volleyball, Team Connect Soccer, and Team Connect Running Club. This new and improved Team Connect project is open to all girls and boys in grades 3-5. Members from the ISB varsity teams will plan each session to develop skills, play fun games, and support our ISB athletic events. These activities will be offered FREE of charge, supported and led by the fantastic studentathletes of the high school. Don’t miss this awesome opportunity to learn from, connect with, and be a part of our ISB Panther Pride! Activities will begin the week of Monday, September 19th. ALL Pre-K Activities run from 1:20 p.m. – 2:20 p.m. K – Gr. 5 Activities run from 2:35 p.m. – 3:35 p.m. excluding Tuesdays. On Tuesdays Activities will run from 2:20-3:20. On Early Dismissal Tuesdays please note that activities will run one hour earlier from 1:35- 2:35. For ES transport students, Montri Transportation Company will provide bus/van services at 3:50 p.m.( on Tuesdays bus will leave at 3:30). As the Activities Lists are finalized, the ES Activities Office will forward a listing of those children taking Activities to ISB’s Montri Office. Montri will then issue modified bus passes. ES AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
Please register online, print your form and along with your payment in exact cash or check for the total amount of your First Choice Activities. Please submit your money and forms in the RED BOX at the Community Activities Office on September 5th, 6th and 7th between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Make checks payable to International School Association. To help ensure payment credit, please write your child’s name at the bottom of your check. The Registration Fee for each activity is 2,500 baht. The only exceptions are Tae Kwon Do and Orff Ensemble, which meets twice a week and has a fee of 5,000 baht/semester. Please note that Team Connect Activities are Free of charge. If at all possible, for each day you register; please list a First and Second Choice selection for your child. If any of your child’s First Choices are oversubscribed, this will greatly assist us in placement. It is important that you meet the “on time” deadline September 7th. Registration forms submitted after September 7th will be processed only for activities that have not reached the maximum enrollment. For many of our activities, the number of participants is limited. In order to be as fair as we can to all our students who wish to participate in the After School Activities, the following procedures have been established. If more students apply for an activity than there is room for, the procedure for selecting students for the activity will be: 1) Upon the close of registration the ASA coordinator will go through the list of students applying for each activity. 2) If the number of applicants exceeds the listed maximum enrollment for an activity, the coordinator will then randomly draw names from the list. (For second semester, consideration will be given to students who are applying for an activity that was unsuccessfully granted in semester one.) 3) If a child is not placed in their 1st Choice he/she will be placed in their listed 2nd choice activity for that day providing that the activity has not reached maximum enrollment. If the replacement activity is also full, you will be contacted to make another choice. ES After School Activities

4) If an Activity has not reached the minimum enrollment of ten/twelve (10/12) during the initial phases of Registration, it will be cancelled. You will be contacted and your child will be offered the opportunity to register for another Activity. 5) If you are not contacted, you may assume that your child has been placed in either his 1st or 2nd choice activity for each day. No news is good news! Your child’s Activity Schedule and conformation of placement will be available online on your child’s powerschool page on Friday, September 16th. Despite our best efforts, the match between Activities and children may not always work out like we hope. If your child needs to withdraw from an Activity, please contact the ES ASA Coordinator directly. This must be done before the ASA schedule has started. There is a NO REFUND policy for ASA. If your child wishes to switch ASA choice we would ask that this be done prior to the 3rd ASA session. However, exception may be made at desiccation with the ES ASA coordinator. NOTE: ASA does not encourage parent observation unless invited specifically by the instructor.

Chess and Stamp Collecting is for children who want to learn to play chess, and start developing a stamp collection - a hobby that can last a lifetime. Mr. Brown, an avid stamp collector, puts together special stamp collections in a stamp notebook designed for each child. At the beginning of each meeting, children have the opportunity to purchase additional stamps from Mr. Brown to add to their growing collection before engaging in their weekly chess games. Tournament of Minds (TOM) is a creative problem-solving competition for teams of students from the Elementary School. It is an opportunity for students with a passion for learning and problem solving to demonstrate their skills and talents in an exciting, vibrant and public way. Teams will work together to solve a challenging problem and will compete against teams from other schools at the Bangkok Tournament on 8th March. Introductory and practice sessions will start on Wednesdays after the October break. Teams will be finalized at the beginning of December so they are ready to start work on the competition challenge after the winter break.
