1. Cut two squares, 1@ 190x190, 1@ 82x82 2. Score the 190mm square along all four sides, 74mm in from the edge 3. Score the 82mm square along all four sides, 20mm in from the edge 4. Cut all four corners off the 190mm square, leaving a cross shape

5. Score and fold each side in 6. Snip one edge of all four corners of the small square (lid) to the cross point, fold in. 7. Snip off the excess to the cross point

8. Trim flaps 9. Glue and stick corners of lid together, fit to box ensuring there is some play to allow for decoration on outside of box 10. Cut 8 rectangles 35mm x 66mm, 4 rectangles 35mm x 10mm, 2 squares 35mm. 11. Glue panels to backing paper (Heavy side panels give a good “drop” to the sides of the box when opened

12. Decorate panels with leaves, flowers etc 13. Glue four side panels on to outside of box and lid 14. Make five butterflies; stamp in black, emboss with clear and colour tint 15. Cut out butterflies, stamp reverse if you want: You can use acetate butterfly stickers or similar instead of stamping and cutting 16. Glue remaining panels to the inside of the box 17. Cut 2 x acetate strips 190mm x 5mm 18. Glue a butterfly on to one end of each strip (facing it down the strip), trim the free end to a point 19. Cut 4 diagonal strips (about 6mm long) in the base panel. Feed the free end of the acetate through two of these slots 20. Decide how high you want the tallest butterflies (the highest should not be higher than the box) feed the ends back up through the remaining slots 21. Trim remaining acetate to varying heights and glue butterflies onto the tips. Anchor acetate on the underside with tape. 22. Stick the panel with the butterflies on to inside centre of the box 23. The fifth butterfly goes on the lid
