HOW TO - Copy Personal Contacts, Personal Groups, and Calendar Events from Groupwise to GMail. EXPORT/IMPORT GROUPWISE PERSONAL CONTACTS Step 1. Export your contacts from GroupWise Login to the full GroupWise client (not GroupWise WebAccess). 1. Select the Address book icon from the toolbar NOTE: If you wish to export a subset of contacts, see steps a and b below. a. To create a new address book click File > New Book > give it a name > click ok b. Drag the contacts you want to keep from Frequent Contacts into the new book 2. Right click on the book you want to save (this will export all contacts in this book) 3. Select Export Book 4. Choose a location to save the file to, e.g. Desktop, USB device 5. Name your file and IMPORTANT: under “Save as type:” select “Comma Separated (*.csv)”. NOTE: If you have created multiple address books, the above steps will need to be repeated for each one. Do not export Novell GroupWise Address Book; this system address book will already be in Gmail. Step 2. Import your contacts into Gmail Once your new Gmail account is active: Login to your Gmail account 1. Select Contacts > Import > Browse to the USB device or location of saved file and Open 2. Select Import, then OK when process is finished.

EXPORT/IMPORT GROUPWISE PERSONAL CONTACT GROUPS Step 1. Export your contact groups from GroupWise Login to the full GroupWise client (not GroupWise WebAccess). 1. Select the Address book icon from the toolbar.

2. Left click the address book with the personal groups you want to export. 3. In the right hand pane, right click on the group icon and select Export. 4. Choose a location to save the file to, e.g. Desktop, USB device and IMPORTANT: under “Save as type:” select “VCard (*.vcf)”. 5. Repeat for all individual groups you wish to export. Step 2. Import your contact groups into Gmail Once your new Gmail account is active: Login to your Gmail account 1. Select Contacts > Import Contacts > Browse to the USB device or location of saved file and click Open 2. IMPORTANT: check the box next to “Also add these imported contacts to” New Group, then click Import. 3. Type in the name of your imported group and click OK. 4. Repeat for any additional groups to import

EXPORT/IMPORT GROUPWISE PERSONAL CALENDAR Step 1. Export your calendar from GroupWise Login to the full GroupWise client (not GroupWise WebAccess). 1. Select the Calendar Tab from the toolbar 2. Right click on the Calendar Tab and select Export 3. Choose a file Name and Location to save the file to, e.g. Desktop, USB device Step 2. Import your calendar into Gmail Once your new Gmail account is active: Login to your Gmail account 1. Select Calendar 2. Click the Options Menu (the gear icon at the top right corner of the screen) > Calendar Settings > Calendar (link in the yellow bar) 3. Select Import Calendar > Choose Your File by browsing to the USB device or location of saved file and Open 4. If you have multiple Google Calendars, choose the Calendar into which you wish to import your Groupwise calendar events. 5. Click Import
