Barron County Fairest of the Fair Contest Rules and Requirements Please read the following carefully and initial each to show that you have read and understand all the requirements. By signing this sheet you are agreeing to comply with all rules set by the Barron County Fair Association. __1. Contestant is a resident of the State of Wisconsin for at least one year prior to entry. __2. Contestant must be at least 18 years of age as of January 1, 2017. __3. Contestant must have a valid Wisconsin drivers license with a good driving record. __4. Contestant must not have been convicted of a felony act. __5. Contestant must reside in Barron Co. or an adjoining county if the majority of fair and/or school activities are in Barron County. __6. The Fairest, or the First Runner Up should the Fairest be unable to attend, must participate in the following: Barron Co. Dairy Breakfast, Rice Lake Aquafest Parade, Chetek Liberty Fest Parade and the Cumberland Rutabagafest Parade, as well as at least 2 of the following parades: Ridgeland, Clayton, Haugen, Shell Lake, Cameron and Prairie Farm. __7. The time, manner and method of judging will be decided by the Barron Co. Fairest Committee. The decisions of the judges is final. __8. Contestants may compete a total of two times for the title of Barron County Fairest of the Fair. __9. If you have competed in another County Fairest of the Fair program in the state, you are ineligible for the Barron Co. Fairest of the Fair Contest. __ 10. Contestants will have individual and group interviews with a panel of judges prior to the fair. __ 11. Contestants must participate in certain events at the fair. These include, but are not limited to the following: the Harness Racing on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and the final crowning on Friday evening. They, also agree to attend various general events and judging at the fair as availability permits, to provide assistance and be good representatives for the Fairest of the Fair program. __ 12. Contestants must prepare and memorize a 30 second radio commercial advertising the Barron County Fair. This should be spoken and not sung. The commercial will be recorded for play on the local radio stations and will be presented during the competition. __ 13. Contestants must prepare and memorize a 30 second self introduction and will present these during the competition. __ 14. The winner of the Barron County Fairest of the Fair contest will advance on to the state contest held in January. __ 15. The State Fairest of the Fairs contestant must be available for travel statewide 7 days a week May 1 to October 1 and on short notice for requested appearances and media interviews if selected as the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs. The Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs is required to live in the Milwaukee/West Allis area for the summer of her internship. __ 16.
