FAITH​ ​DAY Background The​ ​Board​ ​has​ ​mandated​ ​in​ ​Policy​ ​2​ ​–​ ​1.7​ ​that​ ​an​ ​annual​ ​Faith​ ​Day​ ​occur​ ​and​ ​have​ ​made provisions​ ​to​ ​receive​ ​and​ ​review​ ​a​ ​report​ ​on​ ​Faith​ ​Day​ ​by​​ ​January​ ​of​ ​each​ ​year. Procedures 1. The​ ​superintendent​ ​of​ ​Instructional​ ​Services​ ​is​ ​directed​ ​to​ ​establish​ ​a​ ​Faith​ ​Day​ ​Committee to​ ​assist​ ​in​ ​the​ ​planning​ ​and​ ​execution​ ​of​ ​Faith​ ​Day​ ​in​ ​consultation​ ​with​ ​the​ ​chief superintendent​ ​and​ ​in​ ​accordance​ ​with​ ​the​ ​following: 1.1

The​ ​committee​ ​shall​ ​invite​ ​the​ ​Bishop​ ​and​ ​clergy​ ​to​ ​celebrate​ ​our​ ​Catholic​ ​faith.

1.2

The​ ​committee​ ​will​ ​provide​ ​an​ ​opportunity​ ​for​ ​the​ ​chair​ ​of​ ​the​ ​Board​ ​of​ ​Trustees​ ​to address​ ​staff.

1.3

The​ ​chief​ ​superintendent​ ​will​ ​have​ ​an​ ​opportunity​ ​to​ ​address​ ​staff.

1.4

Faith​ ​Day​ ​shall​ ​incorporate​ ​the​ ​district​ ​faith​ ​theme​ ​and​ ​align​ ​with​ ​the​ ​purposes outlined​ ​below.

1.5

Faith​ ​Day​ ​will​ ​occur​ ​in​ ​the​ ​fall​ ​of​ ​each​ ​year.

1.6

All​ ​staff​ ​shall​ ​attend​ ​Faith​ ​Day.

1.7

All​ ​school​ ​council​ ​chairs​ ​will​ ​be​ ​invited​ ​to​ ​attend​ ​Faith​ ​Day.

1.8

All​ ​principals​ ​shall​ ​inform​ ​their​ ​communities​ ​about​ ​the​ ​theme​ ​and​ ​purpose​ ​of​ ​Faith Day.

2. Purpose​ ​of​ ​Faith​ ​Day 2.1

Faith​ ​Day​ ​will​ ​provide​ ​an​ ​opportunity​ ​for​ ​the​ ​expression​ ​of​ ​our​ ​faith​ ​and​ ​a​ ​celebration of​ ​our​ ​Catholic​ ​faith​ ​community​ ​and​ ​district​ ​culture.

2.2

Faith​ ​Day​ ​will​ ​provide​ ​a​ ​professional​ ​development​ ​opportunity​ ​for​ ​faith​ ​formation​ ​for all​ ​staff.

2.3

Faith​ ​Day​ ​will​ ​support​ ​the​ ​opportunity​ ​to​ ​grow​ ​in​ ​faith​ ​together​ ​as​ ​a​ ​Catholic​ ​learning community.

2.4

Faith​ ​Day​ ​will​ ​deepen​ ​understanding​ ​of​ ​staff​ ​of​ ​their​ ​role​ ​in​ ​living​ ​the​ ​mission​ ​of Catholic​ ​education.

2.5

Faith​ ​Day​ ​will​ ​provide​ ​ideas​ ​and​ ​inspiration​ ​for​ ​staff​ ​to​ ​incorporate​ ​the​ ​faith​ ​theme into​ ​their​ ​daily​ ​work​ ​and​ ​interactions.

2.6

The​ ​format​ ​and​ ​content​ ​of​ ​Faith​ ​Day​ ​will​ ​profile​ ​the​ ​Catholic​ ​faith​ ​tradition​ ​and​ ​the privilege​ ​of​ ​working​ ​in​ ​a​ ​publicly​ ​funded​ ​Catholic​ ​education​ ​system.

2.7

Faith​ ​Day​ ​will​ ​be​ ​a​ ​visible​ ​sign​ ​of​ ​the​ ​value​ ​of​ ​constitutionally​ ​protected​ ​right​ ​to Catholic​ ​education​ ​to​ ​our​ ​staff,​ ​families​ ​and​ ​the​ ​broader​ ​community.

2.8

Faith​ ​Day​ ​will​ ​serve​ ​as​ ​the​ ​singular​ ​annual​ ​opportunity​ ​to​ ​gather​ ​and​ ​build​ ​community between​ ​and​ ​among​ ​all​ ​staff​ ​members​ ​of​ ​CCSD.

2.9

Faith​ ​Day​ ​will​ ​include​ ​the​ ​presentation​ ​of​ ​shepherd​ ​leadership​ ​recognition​ ​to​ ​staff and​ ​community​ ​leaders.

3. Evaluation​ ​of​ ​Faith​ ​Day 3.1

An​ ​annual​ ​staff​ ​survey​ ​will​ ​be​ ​developed​ ​to​ ​gather​ ​feedback​ ​on​ ​Faith​ ​Day.

3.2

The​ ​Board​ ​has​ ​required​ ​that​ ​a​ ​Faith​ ​Day​ ​report​ ​be​ ​tabled​ ​by​ ​January​ ​every​ ​year.
