OUTDOORS OUT-01 SEASONALLY SAVVY BACKYARD BIRD FEEDING Migration, food preferences, and weather vary continuoulsy throughout the year: and these influence the bird activity at your feeder. Being “seasonally savvy” means you adjust your feeding program to match birds changing behavior. This two-day course will review the birds, the foods, the feeders, and the adjustments necessary to be “seasonally savvy” in your own backyard to enjoy the hobby of bird feeding all year long. EXERCISE/MOVEMENT PHY-01 MODERN CLOGGING 101 - BEGINNERS Clogging is a percussive form of dance that is challenging for both the heart and mind. In this class we will learn basic terminology and foot movements that will form steps to a routine. No partner or prior dance experience is needed. No special shoes required for this class. All you need is a desire to have fun and to know your right from your left! Wear comfortable clothes, smooth sole shoes, and bring a water bottle. By weaving together recovery themes with mind/body practice, such as deep breathing, meditation, mindfulness, and restorative yoga, participants learn tools that focus the mind, calm the emotions, and rejuvenate the body. The program provides the building blocks for developing a personal practice of daily self-care. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat and water bottle. PHO-01 DSLR LEVEL I and II COMBINED CLASS Level I DSLR Photography is for those who want to learn how to use their DSLR camera other than in AUTO mode. Here, you will learn your camera menu, how to set up the camera and get the correct exposure when photographing in Aperture Priority. Level II covers the Quality of Light & Types of Lighting that affect your photos that go beyond a snapshot. Classes are integrated with lectures, outside shooting (weather permitted) and assignments.Everyone needs to have their own DSLR camera with a lens. No Point and Shoot cameras or cell phones. PHO-02 DSLR PHOTO EQUIPMENT CLASS This class covers a variety of photo equipment such as: filters, camera attachments from cable releases, cleaning cloths to tripods, etc. Learning perspective or your distance to your subject according to which lens you are using, are main essentials in this class. We will cover a range of lenses:from super wide angle lenses, macro, and to the super zooms. Lectures, assignments, and outside shooting. Level I and II classes are prerequisites for this advanced class, as you must understand the basic technical aspects of photography. No Point and Shoot cameras or cell phones. Instructor: Carol Polich Begins: Tuesday, November 7 (6 classes) Time: 5:30-8:30 pm, Tues., & Thurs., November 7, 9, 14 & 16; 9:30 am - 12:30 pm, Saturdays, November 11 & 18 Place: Willson School Room 217B Fee: $56.00
