THE SEVIER COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR MEETING ON MONDAY, FEBRUAR 12, 2018 AT 4:30 PM The Sevier County Board of Education met in regular session on February 12, 2018. Chair Charles called the meeting to order. All members of the Board and Director Jack Parton were present. The Board did not meet in December, 2017 or in January, 2018. Motion by Mike Oakley, second by Becky Barnes, approving the minutes from November. Carried 5-0. Motion by Becky Barnes, second by John McClure, allowing Dr. Parton to proceed with the sale of property in Birchwood. Carried 5-0. The next Board meeting will be March 12, 2018. The Board heard a presentation by Ken Maples regard the tax situation as it relates to the city of Pigeon Forge. No action required. Motion by John McClure, second by Becky Barnes, approving the Alliance Corp. to be the construction manager for the next projects. Motion by Mike Oakley, second by Mark Strange, approving addition of purchasing cooperative. Carried 5-0. Motion by John McClure, second by Mark Strange, approving contract for sevier.org. Carried 5-0. Motion by Becky Barnes, second by Mike Oakley, approving novels. Carried 5-0. Motion by John McClure, second by Becky Barnes approving leaves. Carried 5-0.
