Fernwood Elementary School Nature Sapling’s (K/1) Supply List Classroom Supplies (to be shared - no need to mark with your child’s name) 20 good quality, pre-sharpened pencils (Dixon or Venus) 4 white vinyl erasers (out of the package) 1 package of 24 wax crayons 1 set of 12 felt pens (water soluble) 1 set of 12 pre-sharpened pencil crayons 4 good quality large glue sticks (UHU is best) 1 box of tissues (Kleenex) or 1 box of ziplock bags 1 pair of children’s sized scissors The following should be labelled with your child’s name... 1 pair of earbuds/headphones in a ziplock bag 1 drawstring bag to hold a full “change of clothes” appropriate to the season 1 pair non-marking runners to be used for gym/inside shoes (these need not be new) 1 non-breakable mug with handle (dishwasher safe) Outdoor Equipment (please label with your child’s name) 1 pair good quality rain proof boots (ex. Rubber boots) 2 pairs of extra socks 2 changes of clothes, underwear included (to be left in a bag on your child’s hook) 2 pairs of mittens/gloves 1 good quality backpack that is weather proof 1 1L water bottle 1 pair of rain pants 1 rain coat 1 hat plastic grocery bags, cleaned and dry (as many/few as you have) NOTES: Please ensure that you child comes to school dressed for the weather. Appropriate coats, shoes and boots should be provided so your child can fully benefit from our range of outdoor activities. Two changes of clothes are necessary to ensure your child’s comfort post-outdoor learning. All primary teachers purchase class supplies of extra items (i.e. notebooks, clipboards, art/craft supplies, file folders, etc.). You will be asked to send in $30 to cover the cost of these. If the above fees shall cause financial hardship, we will accept payment by installments (one or more post-dated cheque[s]). For cases of serious need, we can make other arrangements. All schools in School District #64 (Gulf Islands) have a School Fees Waiver Policy. In the event of an inability to pay, please contact Kelda Logan at 250-537-9332. All requests will remain CONFIDENTIAL. Please save Country Grocer receipts for your class. We will use the money returned to us by Country Grocer for school expenses such as classroom supplies, field trips, projects and special events. Thank you!
