Declarations of interest. SW Declared he is now dealing with the fire safety and extinguishers within the school.

Agree minutes of the last FGB meeting. The minutes of the last FGB, SPP & L&M meeting were agreed. ND voted chair of vice chair of L&M.

Verbal Report from IL. IL explained we really need 3 new Governor’s. IL will contact Jane Hill. RN also said she may know some parents who may be interested. RN is going to make contact. RN visited The Bay and really enjoyed the experienced. RN said the school was a very happy school. IL suggested that all Governor’s visited the school throughout the working day to get a feel for how the what the children experience in a school day. A/P IL to make contact with Diane Hiscock to recommend JS for LA Governor.

Headteacher’s Reports. EXHT explained the report for both schools in detail. Please refer to HT reports shared. Governors will need to monitor Education Health Care Plans. Any money allocated must be spent on the children it is allocated to. EXHT explained this could be extra curriculum activities such as dance, technology, other interest that will help the child meet ARE and support their wellbeing. EXHT explained the performance management objectives in detail. EXHT said it is important that all Governor’s know where they could go to see good practice and also areas where improvement is needed. EXHT encouraged all to attend a learning walk around both schools and to let IL know if they would like to do this. IL asked if the PE and Science lead could do a presentation in the future. EXHT agreed to this. Will be arranged for a FGB meeting next term. EXHT explained the LLP Report for Niton in detail (please refer to document shared). EXHT highlighted an area for improvement. There needs to be more resources readily available in class. EXHT was disappointed with this as this has been an area that has been discussed before. EXHT will be doing spot checks and will give 6 weeks to see improvement in certain areas, if this doesn’t happen then a formal process will start to be followed. Overall the feedback was great and EXHT explained that stable staff are working really well. EXHT shared the feedback from the careers assembly’s that have been held at Niton. Lots of positive feedback from parents and children. EXHT explained in detail SEN provision and attendance figures. (please

refer to report) A/P SaJ to look into costing for extended school provision. Christmas activities and fayres discussed and EXHT thanks all for the hard work in both schools to enable these things to take place. The Bay made £2,500 and Niton £1,300 for the Christmas fayres. EXHT explained that we need to be Ofsted ready as an inspection is due. Policies, website, training, single central register should all be up to date with current information. IL confirmed he is checking the single central register for both schools. EXHT explained the safer recruitment process must be followed at all times. EXHT explained that governors are welcome to do spot checks on both schools at any time. A/P EXHT to send SIP/SEF to all Governors. 7

Data Dashboard Data Dashboard discussed in detail for both schools. Please refer to each document shared for further information. RN asked if the two complaints referred to in the document had been resolved. EXHT confirmed that they are on going. RN asked if the LADO investigations had been resolved. EXHT confirmed they had.

Attendance A discussion around pupil and staff absence. This has been particularly high due to several nasty bugs effecting children and staff. RN asked about the formal process for managing staff absences. SaJ explained the process.

Federation update Discussion around the cornerstone website and what the next steps are.

Ratification of policies. Extended schools Policy ratified.

Update on training courses A/P VB to email updated training schedule to Governors.
