The student must complete a written application.
The student must take Finance Academy I -Career Preparedness in the 9th grade.
The student will receive notification of acceptance by mail.
If accepted into the program, the student is committed to the course for the entire year.

rovide students with the skills and experience necessary to attain entry-level jobs in a career field, as well as the academic preparation for post-secondary education. Encourage high achievement by linking students’ course work to academic and industry standards. Develop relationships with local businesses and higher education institutions to develop college and scholarship opportunities for students.
FINANCE ACADEMY 2-Business and Personal Finance
FINANCE ACADEMY Internship
Business and Personal Finance is designed help students develop the knowledge and skills to make informed, responsible decisions that could affect their financial futures. Whether today’s high school students head to college or straight into the workforce, they will face a robust marketplace of financial products and services. To better navigate our nation’s financial systems, they need to learn more about saving and investing, using credit wisely, avoiding fraud, and a number of other financial topics. Students get a chance to consider the types of careers in Finance.
This course integrates the functional areas of business – accounting, finance, marketing, and management – and the legal and economic environment in which any new venture operates. Designed to provide students with the skills needed to effectively organize, develop, create, and manage a business with an emphasis on real-world entrepreneurs and real businesses. Finance Academy 4 students will complete a 140 hour Internship via Cooperative Education class.

FINANCE ACADEMY 1-Career Preparedness
FINANCE ACADEMY 3-Accounting
The Career Preparedness course focuses on three integrated areas of instructionacademic planning and career development, financial literacy and technology. Course content ranges from college and career preparation to computer literacy skills to ways to manage personal finances and reduce personal risk. The area of technology is designed to be interwoven throughout course instruction. Mastery of the content standards provides a strong foundation for student acquisition of the skills, attitudes, and knowledge that enables them to achieve success in school, at work and across the life span.
Finance Academy 3 students will also be preparing for their internships by obtaining knowledge to gain the most value from their experience. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to basic financial accounting, including analyzing and recording business transactions, preparing and interpreting financial statements, demonstrating generally accepted accounting principles and performing banking and payroll activities.

Complete three Finance Academy courses Earn a minimum standard GPA of 3.0 or higher Earn a minimum 3.5 GPA in FA classes
