FINANCE APPRENTICE PORT OF FELIXSTOWE Purpose The Port of Felixstowe is investing in the future by offering an Apprenticeship opportunity within the Finance Department. During the 2 year fixed term apprenticeship agreement, the role will offer excellent developmental opportunities and exposure to a variety of both finance processes and operational matters. There will be ongoing work on live projects as well as a focus on developing your knowledge of the business requirements of the largest container port in the UK.
Key Accountabilities
Use and develop the skills obtained through practical, in house learning and college based day release for Level 2 AAT qualification, to provide support within the Finance Department.
Show the willingness and aptitude to learn not only about the Finance Department but also about the wider operation.
Develop an understanding of the role of the department within the business.
Build strong working relationships across the business.
Ensure all work complies with relevant policies, procedures and operating practices.
Follow instructions and guidance from the department to complete all work whilst developing the ability to take ownership of tasks.
Draft comprehensive records of the work undertaken to specified requirements.
Who are we looking for? The successful applicant will have:
A minimum of 4 GCSEs grade A*- C (or equivalent) in Maths, Science, English or a relevant NVQ or equivalent. Enthusiasm to learn, and demonstrable interest in finance. An ability to show evidence of transferable skills. Excellent commitment and communication skills with a positive attitude.
The Finance Apprentice will need to attend day-release at West Suffolk College and will be responsible for their own travel arrangements.
