Binu has been active in the investment and funds management industry since the late 1990’s. Prior to starting up SavvyKiwi he was Head of Business Strategy for an investment management business, managing around $4 billion on behalf of KiwiSaver scheme providers, superannuation schemes, charitable trusts and endowment funds.

Ben Heap is a founding partner and executive chairman of H2 Ventures, a venture capital investment firm focused on innovation and digital disruption in the wealth and financial services sector. He is also a member of the Australian Commonwealth Government’s ‘Fintech Advisory Group’.

Previously, Binu was Chief Executive of one of New Zealand’s largest investment consulting and financial research firms. He has consulted and offered research to a range of industry stakeholders including fund managers, private bankers, financial planners, trustees, professional services firms as well as policy makers and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. He has held roles overseas in the technology and corporate finance sectors. Prior to completing the Implementing Corporate Strategy course at the Wharton business school of the University of Pennsylvania, he gained a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA), a Bachelors’ degree in Technology (B.Tech) and qualified as a registered representative of the New Zealand Futures and Options Exchange.

He was formerly the Managing Director & CEO of ASX listed investment company, Australasian Wealth Investments Limited; and prior to that the Managing Director of UBS Global Asset Management in Australia. During his tenure at UBS, Ben was a non-executive director of the Financial Services Council, the peak industry body for the financial services industry, and co-chaired the FSC’s global markets board committee. Ben has over 22 years of financial services and investment experience, predominantly in Australia and the United States. Ben attended the University of NSW and he holds degrees in Science (Mathematics) and Commerce (Applied Finance).

Richard Dellabarca returned to New Zealand in 2015 after 14 years offshore in a variety of CEO, CFO and director positions in private equity backed ventures, capital markets, financial services and technology related opportunities. Prior to this, Richard was an investment banker, working in both New Zealand and Australia in Mergers and Acquisitions and Equity Capital Markets. Richard has an MBA from Cambridge University and is qualified as a barrister and solicitor, and chartered accountant. Richard is currently Chief Executive Officer of the New Zealand Venture Investment Fund, and a Board member for the New Zealand Rugby Union, New Zealand Post, the NZX listed Wynyard Group, Kea New Zealand and Solvency II Solutions, an insurance software business based in the United Kingdom.

First elected off the National Party list in 2011, Paul served as the Chair of the Parliamentary Finance and Expenditure Select Committee. Following the 2014 General Election he was appointed Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and Associate Minister for ACC. Before entering Parliament, Paul created his own business as a historian and biographer focusing on New Zealand’s history and economic development. His last books were biographies of Alan Gibbs (Serious Fun) and Sir William Gallagher (Legend). Between 2007 and 2010 he served as an Auckland City Councillor. Paul is an enthusiastic pianist and has a broad interest in the arts; he is a 2nd dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do and plays on the right wing for the Parliamentary Rugby team.

Neil Roberts is the Founder and Joint CEO of Harmoney, Australasia’s largest peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform and the first company to receive a P2P lending license in New Zealand. In only two years Harmoney has facilitated $300 million in lending via its marketplace. Educated in Wales, Neil is a financial services business leader with an impressive record of growing businesses.

Michael Aaron has spent over 35 years in Financial Services for IBM, in a variety of Banking Industry positions, with a continuous focus on payments, from cheque processing in the early ‘80’s to EFTPOS in the mid ‘80s, high value in the ‘90s, mobile in ‘00s and real-time retail payments in the ‘10s.

He launched Pacific Retail Finance Direct in 2001, achieving $100 million in profit over five years. Ultimately heading the business as GM, Neil was responsible for over 400 staff and a balance sheet of $750m in assets. He then joined financial solutions business FlexiGroup, as Head of Sales and Business Development. In the role he led a team of more than 80 with $30m profit and $200 million sales responsibility, driving development and delivering double-digit revenue growth. Neil has a passion for digital disruption and the use of tech to drive frictionless customer experience. In creating Harmoney, he brought back together a core team of people that had been led by him before. He is regarded as an industry leader for peer-to-peer in Australasia.

Michael was the Financial Service Industry manager in Australia and the Banking Executive for IBM’s Growth Markets unit. In those roles, he worked with all the major Australian and New Zealand banks as well as central and commercial banks in Asia and Latin America on a variety of projects, including payments, delivery systems, risk management, Central Bank supervision and national payment system design. In his previous roles, Michael has worked with central banks on RTGS payment systems and government securities market infrastructure design. He has also consulted on the design, business model and capabilities of 3 national payments entities in Asia. Michael also assisted in the establishment of the Australian Payments Clearing Association (APCA) Advisory Councils for cheque, direct entry and ATM/ EFTPOS. He was also the first and last chair of the CECS Advisory Council.

Will is the Co-Founder and New Zealand Manager of Equitise, the Trans-Tasman equity ‘crowd-funding’ platform. Equitise has facilitated over $9m NZD of funding in the last 18 months.

Garth leads the Capital Markets function at the Financial Markets Authority, providing an end-to-end contact point for Capital Markets participants and issuers. This incorporates primary and secondary markets, continuous disclosure, oversight of the market infrastructure such as NZX, NXT, intermediary platforms and clearing providers and also oversight of auditors. Prior to joining the FMA, Garth had extensive dispute resolution experience at Simpson Grierson and Crown Law, representing the Crown to Privy Council level. He was then the head of issuer regulation and an Acting Head of Regulation at NZX.

Lincoln has 14 years experience in senior roles at wealth management, trustee and technology organisations.

Before founding Jude, Ben worked for some of New Zealand’s premier technology companies, Xero & EROAD.

Lincoln was also shareholder and managing director of a software development business, which grew significantly and was later acquired. Lincoln who initially joined Guardian Trust in 2012 is now managing Kowhiri.

He’s passionate about leveraging and consuming cloud platforms and services to deliver a re-imagined banking experience to businesses and consumers via natural language and messaging.

Kowhiri is a specialist provider of digital services for the estate planning industry, has a vision to become the global leader in software for the industry. A big leap toward its vision was taken with the acquisition of Documents Plus Ltd whose software is writes 650,000 wills globally per year.
